NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

What would y'all say are the best credit cards for this? I have a Venture X, but it doesn't give me much gift card help.
Target RedCard, 5% back on all target purchases including Disney gift cards.

Don't get credit cards to chase merchant offers that might never show up. If you want to diversify your credit card portfolio that's different and you should chose a card based on it's signup bonus and future earnings.

From personal experience, I can tell you that the Discover 5% and BoA CCR 5.25% categories align well with DGC purchases.

Does anyone know how the Chase Freedom Flex aligns?

Pretty well. Grocery stores, amazon, and paypal are all regular categories for 5%

And if you have a sapphire reserve or preferred card it will multiply the cash back when you use it for travel to 7.5% or 6.25%

I have never had a Lowe's offer on any of my AMEX cards. I think @bbsearchlight gets these on biz AMEX cards.

Helpful, thank you for this DP!
Yes, the Lowe's offers are usually on business cards - I have the Amex Business Cash Card which has no annual fee so it doesn't cost anything.

The other business card that is one of the best out there for gift cards is the Chase Ink Business cash. That card also has no annual fee and earns 5% at Office Supplies stores which allows you to buy the $200 Visa and Mastercard gift cards at Staples every month (they are usually fee free the last and first week of each month) and earn 5% back on them. You can then use those gift cards to purchase other gift cards or any other purchases.

You do not need to run a business to get a business card - if you have any small hobby that makes money you can call yourself a business as a self-proprietorship and apply for a business card. I sell a few items a year on ebay and that was good enough for a business card. My niece who is 19 babysits a few times a month and calls that a business - virtually anyone has some small hobby and can aplly for a business card.

10% is the minimum savings that I'm willing to accept for DGC but I can get pretty creative to calculate my savings as being more.

I have a Citi Shop Your Way Mastercard and they're always sending me offers in my email. The most recent one is for May, June and July. Spend a minimum of $750 monthly and get a 10% statement credit with a maximum of $80 back each month. Plus spending earns 1% in reward points everywhere and 3% at grocery stores.

So I spent $720 on four $200 DGC at Sam's last week and $65 on one at Acme to get the 2X Acme rewards points and a $10 off my next order coupon . Total spent so far $785 this month. I could stop today and get a $78.50 statement credit, 915 SYW points (5,000 points for a $5 eGC for a number of merchants but not Disney), 130 Acme points (worth about $1.30 in groceries), and a $10 coupon for groceries.

$785 - $78.50 - $0.91 - $1.30 - $10 = $694.29 for $865 of DGC. A 19.7% savings!

Even easier is the AmEx 20% statement credit up to $15 at Shop Rite that was on two of my cards last month. Go in, buy a $75 DGC, pay with Amex. Applies immediately to the AmEx account. Get billed for $60 on the next statement.

Easiest is the Target 5% discount on DGC when using their credit card. No need to load offers onto the card. No minimum spend to meet or maximum savings limit. But that 5% is pretty pitiful in comparison to those other deals. Still, worth it to have the card when there's a good Target Circle bonus offer for $X in Circle Rewards when you spend $Y if you tend to shop at Target.

My BofA Customized Cash Rewards Card has 3% bonuses, not 5.25%... am I missing something?

I opened a Merrill Edge account and made an in-kind transfer from Schwab to Merrill Lynch in order to qualify for the Platinum Honors tier. So some ETF shares that were held at Schwab are now held at ML. No difference in investment returns or fees, but increased cash rewards percentages from 1/2/3 to 1.75/3.5/5.25.

My Amex card has an offer for 20% back as a statement credit for purchases at Giant (max $15). The offer says "for grocery purchases" but the details list "online giftcard purchases" in the exclusions. Anyone know if in-store GC purchases will count?

Just a follow up, I purchased a $75 Zift gift card at Giant on Tuesday 5/6 and the $15 Amex credit posted today.

BOA Cash rewards 3% online category plus Platinum Honors is the most under the radar of all CC plays in my opinion. Only problem is the 2500 per quarter max. Easy work around by getting more than one.

On a tangent I wanted to tag you two in my above post and forgot...happens sometimes I assume to a lot of posters here. How come this site doesn't allow deletions of posts in order to add quotes or just delete them forever. Instead the best you can do is an edit with a period.

Good point regarding getting multiple Custom Cash Rewards cards. Also, you want to add a BOA Unlimited Cash Rewards card to the mix. With Platinum Honors that card gives you 2.625% cash back on everything so that becomes your floor for anything that falls outside the 3.5% and 5.25% categories.

Anyone familiar with the Virtual Visa gift card that is an option for payout from the BeFrugal cashback site? I finally have most of my payouts back from the giftcard.com promotions that ran over the holidays. I have a decent amount of cashback, but I get a 5% bonus if I have it payout on a virtual visa instead. Curious how easy or hard it is to use that virtual visa to buy Disney Gift Cards? I know some virtual visa cards are easy to use and some are not. This one is issued by Pathward?

I don't have an answer but it drives me nuts!

FWIW - purchasing a physical DGC at CVS with my Chase Visa did NOT trigger the chase offer for 10% back.

So definitely YMMV.
