I haven't seen this mentioned, but before anyone with an AP gets a surprise, this month, Disney has reduced the AP discount for the mini golf courses, Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland.

It was 50%, and now it's 15%. Had some friends caught off guard today by it.

Also boat rentals dropped from 30% to 15%. (Didn't notice that until Networth mentioned it)

Wow! That's a big change. I'm an AP holder and have thought about going to mini golf and at 50% off I thought that was a great deal but now, no so much! Thanks for the heads up on the change!

I verified this on the Disney AP benefits website and it says 15% off. Disney doesn't usually lower a discount for a short time and then bring it back up. The other way around maybe but I suspect this is permanent.

That's too bad. I have used it a couple of times in the past years and was hoping to again.
Have to rethink it for that discount

This is a good example of why people need to evaluate the wisdom of purchasing an AP vs daily tickets based solely on the park admission prices. Any other perks can be taken away at any time.

Wow, thanks for posting. We use this perk several times a year during each trip. It's been 50% off for a long time. That's too bad.

Wish I knew about this before I filled out the AP holders survey earlier this week. That's a big disappointment!

From the AP website......
Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course and Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course
15% discount for the Passholder and up to three (3) Guests.

Too bad.

Certainly seems to be a trend of paying more and getting less.

I didn't know of that either, were there any more unannounced benefit drops?

Not this year that I've been told. I knew the drops were coming, I have some friends from college that work mid-high level for the mouse who I saw over Christmas. They did mention TiW card may see a price increase in the not too distant future but we're not 100% on that. If these gentleman were calling the shots it would be the glory days again, alas.

Indeed. Iger's favorite Disney IP is scrooge mcduck and company. Mind you I doubt it came directly from him but like any CEO he sets the atmosphere and trajectory of the corporation as a whole. Gotta pinch those pennies and build 2k a night bungalows or lock people in for 50 years of glorified time shares.

It's interesting, really. They claim on investor calls that they aren't going to respond to business cycles yet the majority of Disney revenue is derived from consumer discretionary spending. Raising prices while providing less will increase current margins, but what will the strategy be when the business cycle returns to a period of reduced disposable income?

Meant to post this back in December as a heads up but forgot.

We went to Disney about Dec 17th and decided to do mini golf for the first time since it was 50% off. Went to do the Winter course and when we were purchasing, the CM there told us as a heads up starting at the beginning of the year the discount for AP's would be moving from 50% to 15%. She said Disney was changing the discount to match the discount that DVC guests receive.

A lot DVCers have Annual Passes also, and were probably the most likely to use it. It's a strange drop off. Our friends winded up passing on the golf that day after they found out.
