We are one of those families that may benefit from getting an AP -- and going to WDW in December this year and October or November of next year. I know that Disney sometimes offers discounts for annual pass holders. I know there aren't any out there right now, but when they do offer them, what would a typical discount be at a deluxe resort (BC, YC, Poly, for example).

Wow, that is exactly our intent. Going in Dec this year and October next year.

I hear mousesavers.com has historical AP prices on their site.

Actually, she has listed the dates the discounted rates became available and what period of time they covered, not the rates.

We paid $239 + tax/nite AP rate for a Garden View concierge room at the Poly this past Dec. 21-27. I *think* the rack rate for that particular check-in date (still value season) was $365 or $375--something like that.

Mousesavers will also tell you what the percentage (historically) has been. I believe it's between 30-40%. You should note that they sell out very fast, esp. the deluxes.

The first time I ever tried, I missed the rates by 2 hours. I actually cried when she told me they were sold out!! :( I had been waited and watching these boards for weeks and I missed it. I did keep calling and a few days later I was able to get a couple of days at the AP discount. That was May, 2000. So, if you don't get what you want on your first try, keep calling every day.

I got Pofq for $74/ nite. I think the rack rate is $133, but I'm not sure. I had no problem getting the AP rate well after it was first announced. Maybe it is harder to get some resorts than others.

We did APs for the first time last November to get the AP discounts. It seems in Value Season, on Deluxe resorts, the AP discount has been 45%. So if you look at the rack rate for that hotel & season, apply a 45% discount as a guide. Moderates had the same 45% off. I don't know if values resorts were that much off or not.

With such a deep discount and value season, we upgraded to AKL Concierge. Love to do that again but I won't without the great discount.

It was a great discount and I sure hope they do it again this year so I can get another use out of my APs before it expires.

Available AP discounts due go fast at the really popular resorts-- like Poly, WL. Epcot resorts can go quick too because of the Food and Wine festival.

Good luck to you and the rest of us too.

Last December rate for AKL concierge was $425 rack rate. We were able to use AP for rate of $239. We booked around a month in advance.

We stayed at the Poly 12/24/03-12/29/03. With an AP rate we paid 189.55/night and thats including tax. I think it was 170.00 before tax.

My Dec discounts have been: AKL savannah view $176 (tax incl)
Dec 2002. ASsport $55 (tax incl) Dec 2002 and POR $88 (tax incl) Dec 2003.

Ok, so if the rate for the BC in August is $289 (value season for the deluxes) and assuming that AP rate could possibly be 45% off, I would subtract that 45%, then add 11.5% tax (x 1.115) it would bring the rate down to $177.23. Is my math right? Math was not my strong subject in school, LOL!;)
