Anyone use the AAA parking passes?

Just got our tickets from AAA and they also gave us a pass for "prefered parking". Is this really any better than the general parking?

We used ours everyday. We decided not to use the hotel bus system (we stayed at POR) and just drove. We were no more than 10 min. to any park pretty much. The AAA pass puts you around the handicap area of each lot. You'd kind of think they would be right in front, but they aren't necessarily. At MK they are off to the right of the entrance and a fair walk. Depending on when you arrive at the park it can be better than first come first serve. I tihnk we'd drive again just to have the convenience of having our car there and not waiting for any busses.

Do you only get the passes if you book a package with AAA or can any member get them? We booked our own trip but we just joined AAA a few days ago and with two little ones closer parking would be nice.

Thanks!

I'm curious to know this as well.

Normally the passes only come with those who book a WDW travel package through AAA.
But last Spring we had friends who received them when they bought 2 adult 4 day WDW passes (and 1 day USO) from AAA.
I think there was some sort of promotion going on at that time at AAA.
It was probably AAA Month for WDW.

We use our AAA parking pass as well. There is only one park that the parking wasn't that great, but I can't remember which one it was (sorry - I am thinking it was MGM but could be very wrong). Also, in NC, you don't have to buy a package from AAA, but I was told you had to buy a certain number of days passes (I am thinking they said 5 but it may be 4). I know this because I went to buy my son's tickets there not too long ago to catch him up with how many days we have on our tickets and when I bought the 3 day pass and asked about the parking pass, I was told no at first. But then she gave me one anyway. :teeth:

I work for AAA in Indianapolis.

The only way you can get a Preferred Parking Pass is with the booking of a AAA package or the purchase of two adult Disney Tickets. At least that is the criteria at our club. :earsboy:

If I buy my adult passes through AAA, as non-expiring, is the parking pass dated?

Thanks MsGoofy. That makes sense since they were being two adults MYW tickets.
The AAA parking pass they had was just a coupon looking slick paper with the year on it.

MK is the worse AAA parking set up. But I think it is the worse set up anyway for entering and exiting, period.

I've gotten a parking pass when I bought several 4 day tickets from AAA and when I booked a package. I always take the bus the MK since it is much faster, but I drive to the other parks. When you go through the toll gates you ask the parking attendant which way to go for the diamond parking. Usually there is a different colored line to follow. At Epcot you park to the far left of the entrance and at AK it is to the far right. AT MGM it abutts where the resort buses pull up. That is probably the farthest and Epcot is the closet. It is convenient because it is easier to find your car. In the evening you can often find an empty space up close.
