Anyone stay at Star Island Resort?

We will be staying at Star Island Resort (7/19-7/23). Wondering how far it really is from all WDW action and what the resort is like? Also, what is quickest route to MK(TTC) and US from the resort. We will be driving and want to avoid as much traffic as possible?

Would also like information on this resort for a friend. Specifically, driving distances to parks (including Universal) and is there a Walmart or something similar nearby. Thanks for the info, did a search and couldn't find anything.

There are several reviews of Star Island on tripadvisors.com....
It's a great site to find reviews of resorts and hotels, especially
Orlando, where there are so many places to stay.

I stayed at Star Island in Feb. It is a nice resort. You are about 10 minutes to WDW. My DH does all the driving but I remember taking a right out of SI and then a left at the first light. Then you just drive down that road till you hit the entrance to WDW on the left. At least, that is how I remember it. Sorry I don't have any street names etc. but I'm sure someone more familiar with 192 can tell you.It was in a good location with a lot of restaurants etc. right outside the resort. Universal is about 20 minutes, I believe.

There is a Super Wallmart a few miles from the resort open 24 hours. We checked in at midnight and drove right over there for groceries.
