Anyone on Jenny Craig?

Hi. Welcome! We're nice people here, all trying to do the same thing.

I had a hard time last month when my Mom was in town. It's much harder when you are going out to eat. But I just got back on track after a few "bad" days and actually still had a loss that week. (Just not as much!)

So far, I'm down 18, but these last three pounds have been up and down. I am now motivated to keep going for another 10-20. Fingers crossed!!

Any one out here know anything about the WiiFit??

I pre-ordered the Wii-Fit and can't wait to get it. I have read some reviews and it doesn't seem like it gives an intense workout. There's some yoga and a dance thing. If you go to youtube.com and search wii fit, a bunch of preview videos come up. :)

Monte~ I can sympathize with the cost issue and I struggled with it but then I thought I"M WORTH IT!!!! Being overweight costs more ~ more expensive clothes, heath costs and self image costs. Plus they provide all your food for a week all you need to add is dairy and produce (@$10) so I'd say it costs avg $120/wk. And there are plenty of strategies for lowering it. For the amount of time it will take me to lose the weight and relearn to eat properly I feel that (and this is just for me) I'm worth it, I've put everyone's needs first for years and thats how I got in this pickle (no excuses just a fact). Also for me I work fulltime have a 7 yr old and 4 yr old twins, I have no time so JC is convenient. My meals are planned out for the week by my consultant with my imput and I don't need to worry about it. I just follow along. The food is very good and easy to prepare. You are even given snacks that are really good (I love the lemon cake;) ) Eventually they will start replacing a meal with my own food the goal being to get me totally off the JC food, so they don't want you to live the rest of your life eating JC food. For me it just made cents(pun intended). I hope you don't mind the long winded response but I hope it helps, Maureen

Welcome! :welcome: Let's definitely get healthy together! I really like the food and the snacks and I feel totally full. You?

Thanks for the welcome. I haven't felt full but I must confess that I'm not sure I added enough veggies and ate no salad so its totally my fault. And I'm only on Day 3 :headache: on the 1200 cal plan. So my goal is pay more attention, eat all the food I'm supposed to and drink the water!! I gained my weight (I believe) by skipping meals and eating one meal ( which I overate b/c I was overhungry) and usually eating it too late in the day. So its a big improvement for me to just eat several times a day and not skip (which is harder than you'd think.) First weigh in is Wed so we'll see.

Hi Lora and Jack its nice to have veterans to talk to, thank you.

It is costly, but I feel the same way.....I am taking care of myself. In the long run, it is worth it.
Also, we would go out to eat about two times a week, and I would order lunch 1-2 times a week, so I took that into account when looking at the cost of the program. It was still more than I was spending before, but not quite as much as it first seemed.
I also LOVe that the meals are all set, no thinking about it involved. I do still prepare something for my family for dinner, but that has worked out pretty well too.

Had my third weigh-in and I am down another 2 pounds. Yay! 5 pounds total!

What I love about this diet is that I look forward to my meals because I enjoy most of the food. I think starting next week I may attempt to plan my own menu. We'll see how it goes.

I had my 1st weigh in last week and almost died I only lost one pound:headache: But I have really been bad about drinking the water. So this week I've really tried to do better. I weigh in on Wed. So we'll see ...

My second week I only lost 1 pound. But the next I lost 2. So hopefully tomorrow you'll have a better weigh-in. Just think of it this way, losing 1-2 pounds a week is normal and the healthiest way to lose weight. :)

I hear ya on water... I'm on my 5th week and lost almost 15 pounds, so i'm happy. I know I can do better. I went out this week with my girlfriends for the first time in about a year. I had 5 run and cokes and I only lost 2 pounds this week. I know that's why, plus I don't walk as much as I should. I average about 7000 steps a day.... grrrr. Very frustrating. I have twins and a 3 year old, so it's so hard to find time. I think I'll get a DVD with walking activities to do at home... I hope it works! Anyway, how did you do on your weigh in? I bet you're off to a great start!

I saw how your weigh in went, so ignore last comment in my 1st post. Don't get frustrated and at least you can pinpoint what you think happened... (water). One pound, is still one pound that is gone! i think you're doing great! Let me know how tomorrow goes!

Hi Everyone...

My apologies for not posting much lately. I have been gaining and losing the same five pounds for what seems like an eternity so I haven't had much incentive to post. I weighed in on Monday and lost 2.5 pounds which I am thrilled about, but the real test will be if I keep it off when I weigh in next week.

I have been struggling to get my exercise and my water in which is part of my problem. When I spoke with my consultant, she did emphasize the importance of eating everything on your menu and drinking your water in order to be successful. I am trying to drink more water this week and am focusing on increasing my natural activity by taking more little walks in the hopes that it will motivate me to actually work out.

You guys are doing great.... hopefully, I can keep up...
Goof

This is week 3 for me and in total I only lost 3 pounds. (week 1- 1 pound, week 2 -2 pounds) I'm trying to make sure I drink all the water. My consultant thinks I'm under eating. I don't always eat a salad everyday but I try and at least add 1 cup of extra veggies. Of course I have no trouble remembering to eat my snacks  The food isn't bad so thats easy. My DH tells me that I should only be losing 1-2 pounds a week but when you want to lose 50 - 60 lbs thats torture. I thought towards the end I'd slow to 1-2 pounds/week. In the beginning I thought I'd lose 3-5 pounds a week.
I keep telling myself "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...."

Have a good week, Maureen

I hear ya on water... I have twins and a 3 year old, so it's so hard to find time.

I have 4 yr old twins and a 7 yr old hence Twingle (twins + single) mum. Plus I work full time so I have 0 time.

I bought a large plastic water bottle thats 30 oz. That way I know to drink a little more than 2 a day ( 1 in am, 1 in pm ) and I've done my water. We'll se wed if it helps. Otherwise you may see a mushroom cloud and hostages at my JC center. ;)

HI Everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted lately either. Goof, I totally know what you're saying. I feel the same way as you.
Welcome to our new members!!
I did lose another pound.....19 down since the end of Jan. I'm proud of that and want to lose another 20, but have really been struggling. My willpower hasn't been that great.
I've decided that when my husband and I get back from our mini trip on Monday (Memorial Day) that's it!!! I am back to it starting Tuesday...no cheats, I hope! I have to think about the summer coming and wanting to be rid of those extra pounds.
Have a great weekend everyone.
:)

I am SO excited to find this thread. I discovered the DIS boards when I bought DVC about 5 years ago and have really learned a lot. The boards have made my Disney vacations even more enjoyable. Now, hopefully you all can help me on my weight loss journey. I joined Jenny about 5 - 6 weeks ago and have lost 17 pounds. I need to lose about 55 more pounds. I am doing the program on-line as I have no center near me. I am very happy you all are doing well with the program.

Congrats, Beequeen! That is great. Keep up the great work. I do Jenny Direct too. The center is far from me. I haven't had the best luck with consultants, but now I think I have someone that is great. HOpe that helps get me back on track.

I went out to eat tonight...did pretty well. Salad, not a lot of dressing, brick oven pizza (1/2) and no dessert, but had a white wine spritzer. We'll see how the scale looks! LOL...

Gosh, I didn't mean to introduce myself five weeks ago and then not come back. I just finished my 5th week on Jenny and have lost 10.6 lbs (and 8 1/2 inches!). We have some traveling coming up in the next several weeks (including this weekend), so my consultant showed me how to plan my own meals and have them fit in with the plan (using the half-way model). So hopefully I won't "blow it" coming up - although I'll be glad to have some "regular" food again - I've been missing some of my favorite foods and feel like I could enjoy them with portion control.

Anyway, you all are doing great - keep up th good work!
