Anyone into beading?

I don't know what you call it. Recently I've gotten into making beaded bracelets for Christmas presents. It's a lot of fun! It helps me be creative and gets rid of some stress. But of course I have to find time to do it.
So where do you get your beads? Hobby Lobby? A bead store? Any new or creative ideas?
I'm making a Mother's bracelet for my friend who had twins. It will be one bracelet with 2 strands, with the kids names in blocks and beads.

Any hobby store would have beads. I've done a couple of those, I don't have enough patience with beads, I'm too clumsy and spill them.

My MIL and SIL are big into beading. They get their beads from local shops and on-line stores. There are also a couple of beading magazines - check your local bookstore. In the back of them they have LOTS of ads for bead sellers. I ALMOST got into beading but decided I don't have enough time for the hobbies I have now to start a new one. (I am waaaaay behind in the kids scrapbooks and I don't cross-stitch anymore and I hardly ever get to rubber stamp )

Try a google search of Fire Mountain Gems......I think thats the name of the book. They have a HUGE HUGE catalog of beads and its free. I love beading but don't have much time to do it. Hobby Lobby has a great selection of beads too if you happen to have one near you. They have the Australian Crystal beads that are just gorgeous!

I'm actually glad you posted this, I need to go to the craft store today and would have totally forgotten.

My friends and I were into beading a few years ago. We got into it right before 9/11 and after 9/11 we'd get together every afternoon after class, bead, and watch the new footage. It kept us busy and together, which was great during such a sad time. As finals neared, we became too busy to bead and we never picked it back up. It was lots of fun while it lasted! We bought our supplies from hobby lobby because it was the closest to us.
