Anyone have a droid??

Iphone is coming to Verizon in Jan 2011. I would wait if want a Iphone.

Droids are usually a little more work then Iphones. Iphone works right out of the box because you can't customize to your liking. So if your into moding your device then the Droid is awesome. If you don't like the stock messenger you can get a different one. If you don't like the keyboard you can get a different one. Love Android devices and wouldn't even think of jumping ship in the near future. With how many are selling nowadays the apps should most def be coming real soon. Just got Angry Birds and that is a fun game I must admit.

Not to mention a silly Apple vs An awesome Android mascot?

Agreed. :thumbsup2 I have a Droid Incredible and to me is far superior to the iPhone. Verizon has the best coverage, and with Droid you can customize your home screen (even have more than one) to switch back and forth from. No useles icons on your front screen - add and discard as you want. They can keep their iPhone - I'll take the Droid any day.

Thanks!! The verizon guy said he would take his droid any day over the iphone too. So the Droid 2 it is! Can't wait to get it tomorrow!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY DROID!!!!

im also a big fan of apple products, so, if i were on AT&T i might have to break down and grab an iPhone, but im not, and have no desire to switch carriers...
and dont hold your breath for iphone to be out for verizon in jan, that was a big rumor a few years ago as well, and, last year, and the year in the middle of those too. heh.

I have an HTC EVO and love it. I use Google Calendar and Gmail and love the cloud aspect of those...and I don't have to pay extra for MobileMe like I would with an iPhone. I really liked the ability to add additional memory myself, but to be honest it has been about 4 months and I haven't needed to go beyond the stock 8g, and I take a lot of pics and video with it. And sure, the iPhone has more apps, but I'm finding that the cutesy and single-function apps are pretty much novelty for me and I don't really use them. I do use a GPS based app for running every day, and it is awesome for that. (I did recently switch from CardioTrainer to Endomondo for accuracy.)

Also, right now Verizon is offering Buy One Get Another on the Droid Incredible. You can get the Incredible and another one of equal of lesser value. I just got DH & I new Incredibles and we love em! :)

Love my Droid, have had it since day 1. It was my first smart phone. The only problem I have is getting my email set up to where I can reply to emails. I can see them but when I reply, my replies go nowhere. I wish I could get this figured out but I just don't have a lot of time to spend on fixing it..

I have an Motorola driod and love it! I too had the problem with the battery draining fast and a friend told me of the app call Advanced Task Killer. A lot of apps run in the background without you opening them and it will drain your battery. I just go to the top tool bar and drag down click on open and you can choose the programs you want to shut down. I do this several times a day. You can still access them through the main menus. :)

Got my Droid x a few days before going to WDW last month. I like the slide out keyboard as an option, I was nervous I would not enjoy touch screen. Actually, I did get the hang of it, but sometimes I have my nails done with a silk wrap, or they grow long enough that touching the screen becomes an issue.

There are lots of apps. One with wait time at WDW that was useful. I am thrilled by all the internet features. I had a Motorola Q previously, and it was a pain to get on the internet. This is super quick!

PS, I am a Baby Boomer, and even I got up to speed in a few days. You can teach an old dog new tricks! Deb:cool1:

You mean like this...

No? Then "these are not the droids you're looking for.":rotfl2:

You must mean the Droid 2? The X is the one without the keyboard.

I've had my Droid X since July and can't figure out how to turn my ringer ON.

Haven't had time to go to the Verizon store, may need to call them. It does make a sound with an email, alarm, or text message, but not with an incoming call.

Yes, I've played around with everything in Settings, but cannot get it to work! Aarrgghh!

Yes, I used a non smart phone for many years prior, my first smart phone type device.

It is nice to have the different applications, but I do kind of miss the simplicity of my old LG EnV.

sounds simple, but have you tried turning the volume button up on the right side, while the phone is not in a call or anything? The e-mail and ringer sounds are on separate volumes, maybe its just down?

Yes, it is all the way up, and not on vibrate.

Weird, huh?

That is weird. Not sure what to suggest there. Must be a bum phone or something. My ringtone will change on me occasionally during the day and I have to reboot, I find that terribly annoying!
