I was wondering If anyone else will be there During this week ? Is there Any Special Events going on this week i may Not Know about? Trying to Figure what Kind of crowds i will be Dealing with

Light to moderate. Agreed. Resorts will be packed with conventioneers. Parks should be pretty light in the AM and early afternoon with an uptick toward the end of day. Saturday at epcot and MK will likely be more crowded.

Yup, I've hit WDW that week a few times, and I'll be down again this year. As others have already said, parks should be to lighter moderate to moderate levels. The Epcot/Boardwalk resort area may be a little crowded with IT Convention goers. The Bay Lake deluxe resorts (especially restaurants) can get crowded due to the PGA golf event.

Overall, it's typically been one of my favorite times to visit

Nope, there will be absolutely no one else in Walt Disney World that week. Congrats! You've hit the jackpot and will have the entire resort to yourselves! :D

Sorry, couldn't resist. We'll actually be there that week too, like others I'm expecting light to moderate crowds.

Don't forget the 'Best Care Practices' conference for geriatricians. We will all be there, too! I've been durig October the last 4 years and it's never been exceedingly crowded.

The conventioneers will be in their conferences and all us wives will be out spending their money.

Yup, we'll be there too! We've been many times in October and even with the conventions, F&W, and MNSSHP, we've never found it to be crowded. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Hoping for great weather for us both! :cool1:

I'll be floating around there that time as well. I don't care what crowds look like, I'll be in Disney World. :D

Looks like lots of us heading down at the same time!!! I am expecting low to moderate crowds in the parks...shouldn't be bad at all!!!

We'll be there exactly 3 weeks from NOW! 15th-24th. I can't wait!!!!!

Yep, we're there that week as well and have been many times during the golf tournament and big conventions. The biggest impact we've seen is on ADRs since all the tournament players and entourage are heading to the restaurants after tournament hours. The big conventions tend to gave their nighttime banquets etc so are a bit less of an impact.

During the evenings, Epcot can also get busy but otherwise crowds are moderate and manageable.

We also leave three weeks from today, and I'm thanking my lucky stars that we happened to have a child born on October 17th, because we picked this week due to her birthday, not knowing about the big conventions and the PGA event. As everyone else has noted, the parks should have relatively light crowds, although the resorts and restaurants will probably be crowded. I'm hoping that the restaurant crowding from the conventioneers will be offset by the fact that free dining is not being offered that week, so the restaurants won't be any more crowded than normal, but we'll see. I did try to switch around some of our ADRs last week with no luck, but it's fine...they weren't critical changes and we can live with what we've already arranged.

We'll be there from 17th - 24th. Can't wait!!! We last went in 1999 - pre kids!

Good to read that the crowds probably won't be too bad. :thumbsup2

I'm trying to work out what parks to do each day and just tying myself up in knots :confused3. Anyone got any ideas?? We want to see Fantasmic, Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes.

We'll be staying on-site at ASMo - there's me, DH, DD (4) and DS (8). Won't be going to a park on 17th as we land at MCO early evening. I think we'll just be good to go to bed!

Friday 21st won't be a Disney day :sad1: We've got a trip booked to the Kennedy Space Centre for our space mad son. He knows we've been and would never forgive us for not taking him! :rotfl:

On the day we leave our flight isn't until 8.15pm so we'll be able to do a park until about 3pm.

Any advice would be great! Thank you all!! :flower3:

Just over 3 weeks until we go - can't wait!!!! :dance3:

Joanne, we used Easy WDW and Tour Guide Mike to help us figure out which parks to go to on which days. We're doing DHS on the 18th, hitting the MK on the evening of the 19th to see Wishes and the electrical parade, AK on the 20th, and MK again on the 21st. My kids are younger than yours and go to bed early, so we're not doing MNSSHP but are hitting the MK during regular park hours on those days instead hoping for lower crowds due to the park closing so early (7 p.m.). Our kids are going to be spent by 7 anyway, so the early closings work well for us.

We will be there 14th-22nd. Went the exact same year last year and crowds were light most of the time, except in evenings and weekends at Epcot. Can't wait! :cool1:

We live 2 hours away and we're taking a short trip 10/19-10/21. Can't wait to see you there.

We will be there the 14th-23rd! So excited!

According to touringplans, except for Saturday's, crowds will be pretty light. The 15th and 22nd have expected crowd levels of 8 out of 10 and 9 out of 10. Otherwise, I don't have higher then a 4 during that week. All my park days are recommended or neutral (originally based off of EasyWDW and verified with touringplans) and I have a plan for each park!

Maybe we will run into each other at some point. I'll have my LGMHs on!

Add us to the list of people arriving in three weeks. It is our first October trip. We are so excited...kept it a secret from the kids. We had to cancel our normal May trip because we moved to TN. Moved the trip at that time, but we didn't tell the boys in case we had to cancel it for some reason.

We are bursting at the seams to tell them right now.

Add us to the list - we'll be there the 19th-23rd. We'll also be there the 7th & 8th, but that was an unexpected fluke that just turned up (DS has an athletic event in Orlando on the 7th and we figured, well...while we're there...:rolleyes1).

Looking forward to our first MNNSHP on the 21st and the F&W Festival!
