Anyone else worried about fall supplies?

I'm stressing out a bit over not being able to find wipes or cleaning spray. Besides our house, we have two kids going to two different colleges. One will be in an off-campus apartment, so he'll be there even if classes end up being online, and one will be in a dorm. Assuming that happens, that's three different "households" I would like to have supplies for. I'd like to be able to send the kids with at least one tub of wipes or a bottle of spray (with paper towels) each to start.

i've noticed that cleaning supplies are hit and miss depending on where you live. as an example-there's no lysol spray at my local walmart or target and the on-line won't let me order it for my zip code BUT there's availability at the walmart about 40 miles away and people there can get it on-line or through order pick-up. that said-if your kids are going to school somewhere outside your neck of the woods you might try playing with the walmart or target sites and use the zip code for their colleges. if on-line will mail it you can call the college and ask how long they will hold a package for an incoming student, for the apartment dweller you can see how long the local post office will hold it if it's sent 'in care of' (or maybe their complex would be willing to accept it and stash it until move-in).

I shop at 6 am and it really is hit or miss.

I would like to try Costco soon, it has been months since I have been there.

CVS and Meijer had large bottles (refill size) of germx hand sanitiser. I still cannot find purell with aloe. Lots of no name brands.

Method soap pumps are just starting to come back. Not my preferred scents but at least I am seeing it on the shelves.

I am slowly building up my supplies. I did strictly curb side for 11 weeks and I learned which items are impossible to get curb side. If things get bad again here I will be ready.

I just went to the grocery store this morning. The toilet paper aisle was completely stocked and paper towels were about 75% stocked. Spray disinfectant was available but not a lot of choice. Disinfectant wipes are impossible to find thus far, last time I saw them was early March. There was an entire end cap of a variety of hand sanitizer, I didn’t check on hand soap but stock was fine two weeks ago. Meat seemed fine now, although I didn’t need any. I quickly checked on the price of pork roast and it was very high so I took that off my possible meal idea list. I was really impressed with the stock of everything this morning, except those impossible wipes.

Buy an love plnt. Break off, then break a leaf. Dr in it into the hand sanitizer bottle. Shake well.

I just use whatever brand of disinfecting spray cleaner I can find. I don’t care if it’s Lysol. As long as it says disinfecting on the bottle. We use very few wipes. We have found some containers over the past couple months and still have them so we are good.
I restocked our TP and paper towels today. There were plenty but the thing is, nothing is in its right place so you don’t know the price until you check out.

Not at all. Factories are operating at full speed and the shelves are full of toilet paper, paper towels and clorox wipes. The hoarders have their pantries stuffed already.

I scored an 80 count of Lysol wipes today. I did a Walmart pickup and they had 2 35 count Lysol wipes available. I chose them and they substituted 1 80 count. It was like a Holy Grail find. Like other posters, I am stocking up on wipes for our house and 3 college students. I happened to have scored a double pack of Dollar General brand wipes about 6 weeks ago. So my wipe supply for us and the kids is close to complete.

Regular cleaning products are hit and miss. I use a lot of vinegar and bleach and make my own products. And I don't rely on commercial products. I would like a can of lysol disinfectant spray when I can find it.

I'm still ok on TP and paper towels, so I didn't shop for those today.

Home Depot has a lot of 2 different off brand hand sanitizers and I saw a 3 pack in someone's Sam's cart today. I probably need to get about 4 large bottles to replenish smaller bottles I have for all of us this fall/winter.

Our Sam's club's meat prices have gone back to normal prices and there are no longer limits on meat, but the cases are not slap full.

Stuff is coming back. Hope it continues.

Although you'll pay a premium price, I found that convenience stores were fully stocked with wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. when everyone else was out. 7-11's I avoided but places that are Mobil, Shell, BP were lifesavers.
Not around here. I've checked in every store (from convenience stores to Home Depots) we've been to in the last 3 months. No one, that's not one, has had wipes. Recently hand sanitizer has been showing up in our local stores. But still no wipes.

But the shelves are NOT full in many many places. Factories may be working now, but if cases continue to spread we could see many more shut downs and supply chains interrupted over the fall and winter. It is also hurricane season and people need supplies for that as well.

We have not been able to do pick-ups at the local Walmart (none of the three that are within 10 miles) for any cleaning supplies since March.

Costco had a 2 package limit on fresh chicken items yesterday. That was the only limit sign I saw in the store.

Which places still have shortages? Looking at internet posts over the past three months I am surprised how many parts of the country never had a shortage of anything.

Well, we have a shortage of disinfecting wipes/spray here. I haven't found any, anywhere since March.

My Sam's Club alternates between having toilet paper and paper towels. At least when I go (every 2 weeks), it's one or the other. Occasional meat rationing, also.

Up until about 2-3 weeks ago, you were lucky if you could find small, travel size, hand sanitizer, but larger bottles are showing up more in lots of stores.

My Walmart Neighborhood market has had basically everything back in stock for about a month. Huge bin of the travel size hand sanitizer showed up near the check stands 2 weeks ago. In March into April you had to ask for toilet paper and they limited you to one pack, but since May the shelves have been full.
Now my chain grocery store, until 3 weeks ago, TP was scarce, but they have had pallets of Angel Soft at the end of a couple of aisles since then. Meat prices are up, and they are limiting you to 2 packages, but everything is in huge packages so we have to repackage. 4 pound packages of skinless boneless chicken breasts, 5 pounds packages of ground beef.
Now Clorox brand wipes I haven't seen in months, but Walmart Great Value wipes are in stock there, and some brand I have never heard of at the chain grocery store.

The thing the amuses me is that when I go to buy lottery tickets, the convenience stores have never been out of anything. But their prices are high, and the sizes odd. Face masks are $2 each. 15 ounce bottles of hand sanitizer for $9. 4 packs of toilet paper etc.

Second wave? Americans just have a perpetual first wave.

True because some of us don’t know how to do 3 simple little things: wear your dang mask , wash your hands ( like do people not have home training) and stay a safe distance.

And other things like having strong leadership.

Sorry I am having a rough day but it’s still true.

I’m sorry you’re having a rough day. I feel for you and anyone else stuck in that mess.

I'll admit, I've only been to WalMart once since March, and that was 2-3 weeks ago. Yes, I checked the disinfecting wipes shelves - totally empty.

Same for Sam's Cub, Von's, Stater Bros., Home Depot, 7-11 store. I've even checked JoAnn's fabrics (they had tons of hand sanitizer there), and Michael's (early on).
