Anyone else worried about fall supplies?

Having a bit of a panic attack now--word is our Governor is going to shut the state down later today, for at least 3 weeks. I can get by for that long, but with my working retail and it being almost Thanksgiving, I'm really worried about having a job to go back to.
So sorry. What state are you in? Hopefully, he will keep retail open and just limit gathering limits, etc..

Grocery store had bins and shelves full of hand saniters.

The toilet paper and paper towel aisle was 100% empty.

This is all nuts.

I bought a lot of extra items this week, things that will keep a long time. I just realized today that I need to stock up on dog food. Two of my dogs require prescription foods.

well..............i suspect more LARGE shopping purchases for folks in my state now. the governor announced yesterday that we are returning to more severe restrictions starting at midnight tonight, for the next 4 weeks at minimum, so that means stores can only allow 25% of their normal shopper capacity inside at any given time. i was out shopping a couple of hours before it was announced and it was already a mad house with people trying to do thanksgiving shopping-once the announcement came down the stores were FLOODED with people stocking up.

i can understand the mindset-our average daytime temps this time of year are in the low 40's/high 30's-in a couple of weeks that drops to the low 30's/high 20's but we've been getting early snow since late october and winds that makes the prospect of standing outside in a line waiting to get into a store horrific. 30 minutes before opening/90 minutes before the governor's announcement yesterday we drove to and then away from one of local costco's-drove away when we saw people standing in a line that stretched around the building, down an entire parking lane-and continued across the parking lot almost to the costco gas station. i can't imagine anyone standing in those kinds of lines, in frigid temps not trying to maximize that one shopping trip in an effort to eliminate the need for ones in the future.

Went to Walmart, central PA, yesterday. No TP, no paper towels, barely any cleaning supplies. Going to the store makes me just want to throw up anymore.

ETA: one highlight, for my youngest anyhow, was that I let her crawl onto the shelf to get some of the last boxes of tissues. I swear she has more fun at Walmart than the playground.

around here the Walmart has always seemed to have the least amount of paper goods etc. I've only gone in the store maybe twice, but it's always been bare shelves. My Aldi on the other hand has no issues right now with anything we need...

Michigan. And thankfully, she has kept retail open, but with limits on how many people can be in a store. Restaurants are back to take out only, which going by the way the lots were crammed, they needed to do. No way were many places following the occupancy limits.

Upstate New York/Mohawk Valley here. We went shopping this morning, plenty of paper supplies, etc. in the two stores we visited. In fact lots of everything except Lysol/Clorox wipes. No Costco anywhere in these parts of NY, closest big box like store is BJs about 25 miles away and it’s not worth the drive. We don’t shop at Walmart (we have one in town).

Just back from Sam's Club - absolutely NO paper towels or toilet paper. No bologna or cheddar cheese. No lettuce(they haven't had it for weeks). They did have 36 packs of Pepsi (only had 24 packs last time).

Also went to Smart & Final - found small "jumbo" pack of TP (12 rolls), but no paper towels.

The lettuce thing is from unusually high temperatures and a disease in the California farms I think. Wendy's didn't have lettuce available for their sandwiches for a few weeks as well.

Most places are cleared out of paper products. Thankfully Dollar General still has some. I got paper towels. I have tp for the boy's bathroom, and 2 packs for my bathroom. We should be good until close to Christmas. LOL

I stocked up earlier this month so we could avoid going out if needed. They are all items we use regularly plus BJs had some sales.

Today I am waiting on covid test results, but I think it's probably just a cold. It is less stressful knowing we can stay in and cook if we all get sick or whatever.

Toilet paper from Costco got delivered today, message my husband and he sends me an all excited emoji with a "the things we get excited about these days" :rotfl: Tis true for sure!
