What I don't understand is that some feel the need to put others down because they are participating. A few are the same ones that bashed the Member Cruise and I feel that we more than got our money's worth - and yes I'm well aware that we paid for it. Same here - it is a special event. It will appeal to some and they will pay for it. It will not appeal to others and they won't.
Strictly speaking, you are correct - some people are upset at the cost and/or scheduling of the MH. However, Johnnie, you must admit that some of the comments come very close to insulting those who do like the MH. It's like a group of people going into a restaurant and loudly commenting "Boy, the fish here is overpriced and doesn't taste good - we feel insulted that they offer it to us at this price." How do you think that makes everyone who enjoyed the fish feel? I have no problem with people thinking MH isn't right for them. What I and others have seen is people declaring that MH isn't right for anyone.Originally posted by Johnnie Fedora
I've read most of what's been posted here and think most of the "put down" has been directed at DVC/Disney, and not members
Behold The Power of DIS DVC! Assuming that a few dozen emails/calls changed the course of Disney/DVC marketing. If that's the case, we should be getting our DVC AP Discount any day now.Maybe you need to look at the bright side. All the complaining members likely caused DVC to backslide (a small amount) on the costs for these "special" events.
Don't have an active AP (vouchers are awaiting the right time), so no one saved me any money; but it's good to know that all the complainers were so altruistic in their motives. "I'm not going to go / not going to be there at that time, but I'll complain anyway, solely to reduce the price for others" ::heehee::Go...enjoy...have the time of your life...I hope the event meets all your expectations. However, while you're enjoying the fireworks, try to keep in mind the many complainers who helped save you 50 bucks.![]()

Both events (member cruise/MH) had a cost reduction after MS received numerous complaints. DVC dropped the $75.00 booking fee for the member cruise, and now they've knocked $50.00 off the MH (for those with other passes).

Being insulting about things goes both ways....and those who are fortunate enough to have enough expendable income to be able to consider attending this event might do better counting their blessings rather than putting down those who don't feel the same way. I agree that the price may be high to reduce the demand....but then again, its not pleasant to be made to feel as if we're not well to do enough to be "real" DVC members...when actually we're quite fortunate.

I would love to go to this and I already have a reservation to be there. But, I have two small kids ages 6 and 7 and I am not sure if they would be able to stay up two nights in a roll until 12:00 PM.
