Anybody ever use free WDW employee tickets?

We are going to WDW in October. My friend (who is traveling with us) is getting free park tickets from her friend who I believe works for Disney. My friend was told that in order for us to use them, we had to meet the employee at that park each time. My questions are: Has anyone been fortunate to use these before? If so, how did that work with meeting the person at each park?
Thanks for any help.

We did this several times a year for about 4 years - it's awesome!! In our particular situation, the employee's office was at MGM. I would take my cell phone and call her when we got to the gate. She would come out and walk us through the turnstiles. The CM at the turnstile would give each of us a parkhopper pass, we'd give our friend a big hug and we were off for the rest of the day. In our case, we usually turned around and went right back out the gate to another park. It kills about an hour off your morning if you're going to be going to another park besides the one you're initially entering, but it's so worth it for the money you save.

Unfortunately, she worked with the animators at the studios, and since they are no longer there, she's now a stay-at-home mom, and we had to buy passes this year. :( No complaints though, we probably did about 10 free trips for our family of four - saved a ton of money!!

I used one on a recent trip in February and I was only planning on doing one park each day so I didn't need them beyond the first time to get in. Of course, it helps if the CM is in your party so you don't have to pull them away from work. :)

There are several different types of Cm tickets. My husband used to work at EPCOT many moons ago. When we got married he worked at The Disney Store. He still has some friends who work in Florida for Disney.

The 2 main types of CM tickets are:

1) Vouchers that they are given periodically usually at the holidays. My husband used to get 2 of these during the Christmas season when he work at TDS they were good for a one day admission to WDW with park hopper privileges, or one day admission to DL (at the time DCA was not open). You exchanged these at guest relations for a ticket when you get to the park. The CM does not need to be there.

2) Each CM gets a certain number of admission each year on their ID I think it is 10 or 12 or something like that each admission will allow them to take 3 or 4 people into the park (I cant remember all the details although I have gotten into the park a few times with hubby's friends this way) The CM must be with you at admission but they don’t have to stay with you all day. You can park hop without a problem. You get a one day park hopper ticket at the turnstile as you enter the park.

It is really cool when you can get in that way. Even cooler is the CM rates for rooms. The only problem is that you have to wait until the last minute to get those rates.

We did this last month with a friend and his son who both work at WDW. We met them at the gate and they could each bring in 3 people we were given 1 day park hopper passes. We are going back in Oct and we were able to secure a CM rate for Pop and all that our friend has to do, is the week we arrive go show his ID at the hotel.
