Anybody ever use AirTran (Philadelphia)?

We are using AirTran out of Philly for the first time since we got a great fare. Has anybody ever had any experience with them?

We used them for the first time in June. I was pleased with their service. I got a whole can of soda both ways instead of just the little cup. The plane was nice and clean and the staff was relatively friendly. Our baggage turned up relatively quickly at baggage claim. At checkin, they moved fairly quick. We were delayed in the air on the way down due to storms in Orlando, and the pilot did a good job of keeping us updated. All in all, not a bad experience. I would fly them again if the price was right.

we stopped using USAIR about 3 yrs ago and started using AIRTRAN only. Had nothing but good service on all our flights ( 6 total) RT. oUR PRICES RANGED FROM $49 TO $79 EACH WAY. They have new planes. The 717 has 2 seats on left side and 3 on right facing front. The 737 (I think it is) has 3 and 3.

My husband has flown Air tran many times for business travel.

He said they are ok but don't plan on arriving on time. (They are usually 20-30 minutes late from his experience.)

My DH and I have used Airtran for all are flights out of Philly(about 6 in the last year) and we have only been delayed once. They have great staff. We have never had to wait more then 5-10 minutes for our checked baggage either.

We have used AirTran for several trips. Last month we took them and they were on time on both sides. The only wait we had was on the ground after landing in Phil. due to too many planes ahead of us going to their gates. Friendly staff and good planes. FYI we found out for $50.00 you can update from coach to business class at the airport. We did this because we had a credit from last year (hurricane). There are only three rows for business class but the seats are bigger and it is quieter. Also nice getting off the plane so quickly.

We are from Philly and we have used AirTran more times than we have used US Air. We have traveled to Disney about 15 times and about 5 times to Ft. Lauderdale.

Everytime we have used Airtran we have received great service and believe it or not, we have arrived early going down (due to tail winds) and on time returning. The Pilot talks to you several times on the trip letting you know what is going on. Things like, what you can see out the window, where we are, what the time and temp and weather conditions currently are in Orlando, approx arrival time, if we are going to expect turbulence and if he will be going higher or lower in the aircraft, just little tidbits.

I would think delays are typical depending on weather conditions on the entire East coast.

We fly AirTran exclusively (Milwaukee to Orlando). We have always had good experiences with them. We even got their Visa credit card to get free flights faster (not sure I would recommend this - the company it's through, Juniper Bank, hasn't been my favorite - their customer service is NOT like Disney's ). For this trip in Aug. 3 of the 4 of us are flying free using "points" we've earned though.

We've always found them to be friendly and on time. I especially like how they only do one way flights so you can choose which flight times there and back work best for you and if you sign up for their email updates, you get first notice of their specials. I don't think we've ever paid more than $99 one way and last Oct. we made a special quick trip to Disney because they were offering $49 flights each way. All 4 of us flew for $400 and we earned points that got us this trip free.

I would say give them a try and see what you think.
