Anybody ever have a leaky snowglobe?

Strange question, I know. ::yes:: My daughter has quite an extensive Disney princess snowglobe collection. We just realized that her "Once Upon a Dream" Aurora snowglobe appears to have an extremely slow leak. It has been sitting on a shelf for more than a year, and we just discovered a tiny pool of liquid under it. We have been watching it a few days now, and it is coming out so slow that you wouldn't even know except for a bit of moisture underneath.
I tried to take the bottom off to see what's happening, but after removing four screws I realized that the bottom is glued on very well. We bought this probably close to two years ago at The Disney Store, so I know I can't return it. But it is a fairly expensive one ($78.50 price tag, though I know we paid much less :flower: ), so I hate to just let all the water leak out or throw it away. I could tape up the bottom, but then all the liquid would just build up and ruin the musical parts. (so far, the music still plays fine)
Any suggestions on who could repair this? Or how to "rig" a repair myself? Thanks in advance!! ::MinnieMo

We had one that was leaking along time ago and it was probably over a year old. My husband took it back to the disney store and they exchanged it for a different one. That was when the disney store was still owned by Disney. But you could try taking it back or calling customer service and see if they will do anything for you.

I have over 100 disney Snow globes, some from the parks and most from the Disney Stores. This past winter I moved them from the Dining room into my bedroom and I found that 3 had been leaking very slowly, the same as you described. The leaking ones were some of the newer globes, my older ones that are over 10 years and more still are great, even without small bubbles. I couldn't pull them apart because they are glued to the base and I am afraid to pull them for fear of breaking the globe.
I also don't want to pay $30 for refilling them plus $10 to ship it each way, that could add up to alot of money since most of my globes now have some fluid missing.
My boys loved that I collected globes because they could always come up with something to buy me for Christmas. This year because of the leaking I was very upset and told them not to buy me any more snowglobes.
Now I guess I have to come up with something else to collect, I already have thousands of pins. Peggie

I got the incredables snow globe for Christmas.....bought it last summer...it was new in the box, after Christmas and the box was in the trash already I noticed that the small globe had a crack. I asked at the disney store if I could return it and she told me it would proably be only worth a penny!! I decided I was done collecting snowglobes and proably with buying anything from that store ever again !! :confused3 pirate:

We have the same one and it has started to leak very slowly. We have noticed that is is getting an air bubble that was never there before. I have never noticed water where it is sitting. I wonder if we got a bad batch?

Amazing, we have the same once upon a dream snowglobe, with Princess Aurora (It's blue right?) and it is also slowly leaking, I have just resorted to putting a towel underneath of it to soak up the slow leak, but it annoys me to no end that this expensive snow globe I bought is leaking like that...
