We will be at Disney World on July 4th and 5th. There will be 2 adults and 2 children (boy age 10 and girl age 6). We know we definately want to do several things at the MK. I would really like to see some things at Epcot and MGM also though. I have already purchased 2 day park hopper tickets. My question is how would you suggest breaking down the different parks. Also, are there any "NEED TO BE SURE TO SEE THINGS" for the kids at any of these parks. I know we will probably just stay at the MK for a whole day. My daugther says she wants to do TOT. Are E-ride nights worth purchasing? Would you go to the MK on the 4th or wait until the 5th? Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how to squeeze in so much in so little time.

You're going to be at the parks on two VERY busy days! So ... you need to have a plan.

I would suggest getting a guide book or, at the very least, printing out a list of attractions and shows from the disney.com website and choosing those that appeal most to you. Make up your list of "must see" things and plot a path around the park that hits as many of them as possible. July 4 and 5 are not the days to just "play it by ear" and see what you can get onto. You'll need to get there early, utilize fastpass whenever you can, and have a plan around the parks.

On such a crowded weekend, E-Nights will also be crowded, but probably well worth it, particularly because it will allow you to skip some of those most popular attractions and see them in the evening when it's cooler and somewhat less busy.

If your daughter wants to hit TOT, be sure she's tall enough (40") before scheduling that in, since you don't want to waste the time in line if she's not. If that's the only thing you plan to do at MGM, then I'd head over at the very beginning or very end of the day, since you'll have a better chance for shorter lines then.

MK will be packed on both July 4 and 5, although it will begin emptying out by mid-afternoon on the 5th as people begin to travel home after the holiday weekend.

We have just arrived back this past Sat from our First trip to DISNEY WORD. We did a 3 day park hopper package and was able to fit in all parks in, not all the attractions but feel we hit the major attractions and the wishes fireworks and spectromagic parades. We scheduled our days to the park hours and the firework schedule. Mon we did the morning at AK and then after lunch went to MGM with intentions to see Fantasmic that evening but mother nature did cooperate. Tue MK was open until 11 so we hit that park at 9 and didn't leave until 11:30. Wed we used as a rest day and lounge by the pool and resort. Thursday went to Epcot but only did a few attractions and then after lunch went back to MK where we stayed again until 11:00. My children are only 4 and 9, so I feel that if I was to do it again within the next year we would probably skip EPCOT and possibly MGM. I hope you have NO I know you will have a wonderful time.... I am here at work today dreaming of my week last week and already thinking about planning next years visit as it is the MOST WONDERFUL place I have ever been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps. We stayed off site and have to say that the transportation system from parking to parks is excellent!!!!!::MinnieMo

HI bravesfan92. I was wondering how you purchased the 2 day park hopper tickets in advanced?I thought the only way you could get a 2 day tickets was at the gates.Thank you

I would hit the parades so the kids see as many characters as possible in the time you've got.
I highly recommend "Fantasmic" at MGM. It is just spectacular ( IMHO all the end of night fireworks/shows are).
Also a character meal, maybe in Chef Mickeys so you don't waste time in the park.
Try to hit one of the mountains at MK; splash, space or big thunder
EPCOT; a walk round world showcase at least and Test Track or Mission:Space. The kids will like The Living Seas, especially with the new Finding Nemo bit.
Yor DD is right about TOT. Rock n roller is great if you have the stomach for it, Beauty and the Beast on stage and probably the studios tour, althogh my DH would vote for Star Tours.
You didn't mention AK so I guess you're giving it a miss but I like the safari, the rapids and tough to be a bug.

Sorry if this has made it more confusing but I hope you have a great time,
Claire

I was also wondering about the tickets. Are they actual park hoppers or are they two day one park tickets? I was under the impression that they were only available at the gate, resort or DTD. Thanks! :)

Keep in mind that there is a good chance that any (especially MK) and all of the parks will close during the day due to capacity, so if you REALLY plan on being in the parks, GET THERE EARLY!!! Although if you are staying onsite, I believe you can ALWAYS get in..................P

Okay about the 2 day park hopper tickets. Yes, they are actual park hopper tickets. I was told by someone to buy them from the Gay Day site. When I checked in to this through the Gay Day web site they told me anybody could purchase them. Well I went online to their website, which then in turn takes you to one of Disney's web sites to buy from. It asked me for when I was going and I put in the dates. When I got the tickets in it states on them they are 2 day park hopper tickets and they expire either 10 days after first use or they have to be used by December 31, 2004. So, that is how I got my tickets. I searched for over 4 months or so trying to find them. I was actually told by a CM that this would be the only place to buy them at the time I bought them. And I knew I had to buy them by May 31, 2004.

Are you staying at a WDW resort? E ticket night is definitely worth it if you only have 2 days, but it used to be that only resort guests could buy them -- maybe that's changed, though.

Yes, we will be staying onsite. I thought about getting a E ticket, but I don't know how my children would make it being up that late. If we done it on the day we were going to the MK, E night would be until 2 in the morning. I don't know if I could even make it that late.

E-night will be worth it with cooler temps and less people, but you MUST leave for an afternoon break. This will make your trip much more enjoyable.

I once did all 4 parks in 2 days with a friend, but during a slower time of year.

I agree with the advice you've been given, particularly in making a list of "must dos." I'm even doing that for an upcoming 5-day stay!

You might want to consider going to AK one morning, even if it's just for a couple of hours. I guess it depends if you and the kids are interested in animals, but if you are, the safari is really an experience. I also agree that It's Tough to be a Bug is great, and I also really enjoyed the Lion King show there.

For MK, I really enjoyed Buzz Lightyear (and I'm 33 years old!). I would think they'd have great fireworks on the 4th there too.

Ditto everyone else's suggestions for the parks!
