Any Single Disney Men Out There?

Great Thread! Too late for me. (Happily Married) But there could be some great relationships come from here. I am the DIsney addict, rating around an 8-9, my DH is only a 4. So I am always trying to get family and friends to go. I hope all you singles don't mind if I just lurk here.

OK, I'm in! 45, SWF, no kids (the two in my sig are my niece and nephew). I live in Melbourne (Florida, not Australia) and go to WDW as often as I can. I'm usually accompanied by assorted family or friends but have been known to set off solo as well. I give myself an 8.5 on the Dizometer.

My next planned trip is in October to celebrate mine and my niece's birthdays, staying a week on-site, partying with The Main Mouse. I'm sure there will be lots more spur of the moment trips before then!

I see a few of you have plans for May too. I am still playing around with dates but will probably be there 10th- 15th. I think a mini-mini-meet may be in the works!

Keep us posted. We will have to set a time and place :thumbsup2

on a side note...while I was in Disney someone got hurt on the Peter Pan ride. Well, apparently they first reported it as a 28 year old guy in Disney by themself. Needless to say when I got back to work, it was non-stop teasing as everyone assumed it was me! LOL

that sounds like something my work would torment me about too!

My ex BF usually went with me but he didn't "get" it. I think there's nothing worse than going to the World with someone who doesn't get as excited as you do!

Courtney, I totally agree with you. I have to beg to get someone to go with me, and then the entire time we are there, my friend never seems to get the magic. I hate it when I am feeling all magical and emotional, and everyone else that is with me is acting like this is just an amusement park.

Years ago, I "took" my nieces...they spent the whole time saying "what are we going to do next?" and if we'd already done something ONE time, they didn't want to see it again....silly girls! (teenagers)

BUT....in 2001, I watched my friend make the transformation....NO Disney on the 1st day to Hat, shirt, water bottle strap, fanny pak, etc...A complete conversion! Only when we got home and looked at pictures did we realize the drastic change. My friend is now HOOKED! And FINALLY understands why I keep going back!

As I read thru the posts on this thread, I see that ALL of us are on the upper-end of the Disney scale. That's very EXCITING!!!

Heard a rumor today from a CM that Disney was considering ANOTHER park...anybody else heard anything???? :confused3

I thought I'd jump in and introduce myself. I'm a single mom who will celebrate the 7th anniversary of my 49th birthday this August! :teeth: Although I'm not actively looking for a Prince or King (or a Princess/Queen for that matter), I'm always interested in making new WDW friends. My son is now 19 and has outgrown his need for Disney. Of course that has it's advantages. I can now travel cheaper (I don't have to pay for him and a friend) and I have a built in house/dog sitter.

I took my first solo trip last August and I had a terrific time. It would be nice to meet up with other solo travelers for a meal or a drink. I love to meet for a night out at the Adventurer's Club or Jellyrolls. I was planning on a May trip for the opening Star Wars weekend. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it now since I had to spend $2000 this week on my son's wisdom teeth. Kinda emptied my vacation fund. I haven't given up yet. I'll just have to budget more closely between now and then. If push comes to shove I could break out the old credit card (gasp)!

Ok , Hello, 31 year old female here, divorced , 2 great kids, 4, and 12! Live in GA. We all Love Disney and a if a potential partner does not like Disney as I do then yes that is a deal breaker!

Hi 41 y/o single mom from Cincinnati probably a 9.5 on the scale (Could never sell dd but definatly have those lottery fantasies...) Can't seem to find a guy that "gets it". May will be my 22nd trip and dd 7th. I would love to meet someone to share the magic with. I seemed to have been cursed. For dd's first birthday a female friend and I took dd to WDW I'd been divorced about 6 months. One evening we were in our room at ASMu there was a knock on the door friend and I looked at each other and both went to the door (dd was asleep) we opened it no one there. looked around and there was a frog (or a toad) on the ground in front of the door. I kid you not. We laughed saying it was prince charming but the dates have been few and far between for both of us. So maybe this is where I need to come to break the curse....

Hi folks,
What a great thread!

I'm a single DVC member in MA, 44, no kids but two kitties. Went to WDW several times as a kid, but didn't really get hooked until I lived in FL for a few years. In January I went down for the E:E previews for the day--from Massachusetts. So, where does that put me on the scale? Probably at least an 11. (OK, so I flew into Tampa and stayed with a friend Wed. pm, drove back to Tampa Thurs night and flew back to Boston Fri. morning, so it was more like 36 hours, but only one day actually at WDW).

I'm heading back down in the beginning of June--anyone else planning to be down there then?

It would be great to find Prince Charming, glass slippers are about the only sort of shoe I don't have yet. princess: But it would also be nice to have some other like-minded folks to just hang out with.

Kim

I guess I may miss out on a lot of the meet and greets. I'm looking at the week after Thanksgiving for my next voyage home. I was just there in Jan/Feb with another Disneynut (wdwtheplacetobe) to preview EE which, BTW was AWESOME. The coaster nuts will LOVE it. Any of you ladies hit the links? I prefer to avoid the Roaster season (May to September) and hurricane season when I go...2004 I had to be evac'd out by the company twice to get me out of the path of storms. The only good part was that they had to keep sending me down to finish the projects! and I get to stay at Disney on their dime!

If I knew how I'd put a few pics up...but those will have to be shared in pvt.

Keep it up folks!

If only there was a test.....

How would you rate a potential mate on a 1-10 Disney scale?

1) Hates Disney
2) Doesn't hate it but it's like pulling teeth to get them there.
3) tolerates it begrudgingly and nit picks everything
4) is okay with it but when given an option prefers other places
5) Is okay with it but only once every few years
6) Will go but wants to do Universal, Sea World, Bushe Gardens etc.
7) Goes willingly and will do almost anything
8) Totaly gets into Disney on almost every level. A day without Disney is like a day without magic.
9) Is into Disney on EVERY level...sells children to get in another trip.
10) If you won the lottery you would LIVE in Disney World!

So we won't lose sight.........

Feel free to make changes :)

(the Barenaked Ladies RULE!).

Amen! Do you know that they are releasing another album in September! I can't wait. You can tell I am a BNL fan - 2/3's of my ipod is dedicated to them!!

Now, if they would just have a concert at WDW, I would be in Heaven.

I rate myself a 10...how many points would I need to live in a Grand Villa on the Boardwalk?????

Ok my turn to put my 2 cents in. I am a 26 year old single mother in CT. My daughter will be 8 in May. She has been 3 times. We went for 4 days over Christmas last year and stayed on sight for the first time. Thats when I got hooked. Came back and could not stop thinking about another trip. Booked next year for 10 nights last month!!! My friends dont understand. They think I have a problem. I figure Disney is a better addiction then many others. And if it makes me happy then shoot its all good. But a girl can dream.... would love to meet someone who feels the same way. Oh and I would say Im between an 8 and 9. :thumbsup2

You might be disappointed to know that BNL did play WDW. They played to open up the Soarin' attraction for the 50th celebration. At one point you could actually download some of their WDW video from their website. Check it out. The Ladies, in my opinion, are the best live show in music.

I'm with you...there'll be no more Disney days for me 'til September. I was at AK this past Friday and almost melted (I have the sunburned shoulders to prove it). I'm fortunate though...living as close as I do if a cold snap hits the sunshine state in the next few months, I can take a day off work and head over!
