We have signed up for the sea trek (https://coralworldvi.com/activities/sea-trek/) at Coral World as one of our port adventures.
I've only read blah and negative reviews on disboards ( I know :) shocking negativity here...) so I'm looking for those of you who have had good times and are silent ...

Thanks

John

Wow, this looks like a great experience! I don't remember this in 2009. Be sure to let us know about your experience.

I'm guessing that the lack of answers to your question IS the answer to your question............

We went to Coral World in April and did the submarine. My son is 3 so we were limited on excursions and we are not huge beach people. We had a good time and I'm glad we did it. I don't feel the need to go back, but it was a fun day.

I've done Coral World, without the sea trek, and it was a nice little park. Nothing too fancy and super extraordinaire. The sea trek looks like fun! Sorry that I can't give you anything on the sea trek part.

are there things to do at that port if you don't book an excursion, I mean can you just get off the ship and walk around?

I did Coral World in March with my 9 year old while the others in our group did ziplining. We had a very nice time there. It's small, but nice. I probably wouldn't go back a second time, but we really did have a nice time when we went. We did the sub part and that was definitely a fun addition. There is a very nice beach next to Coral World. I didn't want to pack all of the supplies needed for a beach day, but if you did, you could certainly fill all of your time doing that plus Coral World. When my daughter and I were done with Coral World, we walked down to the beach and sat on a rock watching the people. Doing it differently next time, I would probably wear swimsuits under our clothes and bring along some beach towels. Walking around Coral World didn't take very long, including watching the sea lion "show". Please let me know if you have any other specific questions that I missed.

Thanks Spart02... we'll have our swim suits with us... but we had considered going right back to the ship after we were done.. food is free there and the ship should be more empty . but... nothing definite... go with the flow on vacation!

You could definitely do that if you're doing it on your own. We did it through Disney only b/c I was on my own with my kiddo. We shared a van with another family, so had a designated driver and meeting time afterwards.

When I don't want to do water activities in St Thomas or visit St. John, I would join an island tour. I used Godfrey Tours three times and really liked it. The tour includes visits to the Mountain Top, shopping in town and a stop at the beach. We went to Coki Beach all 3 occasions--one of them we visited Coral World. My daughter was 4 at the time, and she had a great time. A great way to spend a hour or two.

We have been to Coral World several times. It is a fun little sea park. If you want to go on your own you can get a St. Thomas this week and cut the coupon for a discounted visit. They also have lockers that you can rent to keep your beach items in while touring. We went 2 years ago with our then 5yo and 7yo. We toured Coral World and then went snorkeling and swimming at Coki. I love Coki some people not so much. It is a beach where locals go. You can rent a beach chair and umbrella pretty cheaply. They also have food and drink vendors that work the beach. You will need cash for this. You pay when you get ready to leave. Last year we could not find our vendor and ended up not being able to pay so we got free drinks and seats. We asked for him but he was nowhere to be found.:crazy2:pixiedust:

We went to Coral World in 2010, but it wasn't with a cruise. We were married in St Thomas and we stayed for our honeymoon. We had a great time at Coral World, but it wasn't busy on they day we went (avoided cruise ship days). We paid extra to swim with the turtles which was a really fun experience. It's not a huge place, but was perfect for the afternoon. I really loved Magen's Bay more then anything, but I love the beach.

We visited Coral World on a cruise 5 years ago. We explored The park and did the sea lion trainer experience. Ours boys were 4 & 1.5 at the time. The oldest really enjoyed it. Then we went to Coki Beach right next door to swim/snorkel for a while.

We did the Sea Lion swim about 6 years ago and it was so fun! Remo, our sea lion was so cute, he was like this sea dog with such personality!
