Any plans for the holiday weekend?

Thanksgiving weekend for us.
Family feast on Saturday at my house.
Family feast on Monday at my sister’s house.

Thanksgiving weekend for us but sadly I am working all weekend. DH will Be doing the dinner probably on Monday as I work nights that night.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! We actually just canceled our plans to travel to family. We moved two weeks ago, and due to both having been ridiculously busy at work, and me simultaneously trying to run a quick reno on the new place, the living space is still in absolute chaos. We've got to take this opportunity to get it sorted and get settled in. For that, I will truly be thankful!!

Since both me and my daughter have Monday off, we're going to the pumpkin patch, apple picking and baking some Halloween themed treats. I'm just enjoying the fact that my 17 year old still wants to spend time with me.

I'm heading out for 6 weeks of camping. I'll be home just a few days before Thanksgiving. Can't wait to get out and enjoy the warm weather in the south.

Typical weekend for us. Dd has school on Monday.

Only tweaks: no work for her today (soccer ref) as public schools are on fall break, no games this weekend. And small bonus, easy drive to school yesterday and Monday with less traffic.

Schools here are open on Monday. The kids have an early dismissal that day, and the teachers have an afternoon training session. So it will be a regular weekend for many.

In an RV, and yes, I have to move every 2 weeks so it will be 3 different locations. Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. I'm just moving further south the colder it gets.

It’s not a holiday for us, but my husband and I both have a PTO day on Monday. We have not made plans yet, but we do have some projects at home that need finished.

My two college kids have a “reading day” Monday (with the next reading day on Election Day in November), so while they don’t call it a holiday, no classes are held that day.

I'm a teacher and we were off all last week for fall break. I got a ton of stuff done around the house. We go back to school on Monday.

Daughter originally had October 9-11 off from school. Stacked teacher workshops days with Columbus Day. Now she doesn't have to go to school on the 12th because the lower classmen are taking the PSAT, but she has a remote learning day. Seniors are planning a Senior skip day on the 13th. We have a college visit planned for that weekend and hoped to get out of town early on the 13th but my daughter said she must go to school because of 2 classes.

I actually thought they got rid of Columbus Day due to it being controversial.

On my calendar, and in my city it is Indigenous Peoples' Day. I think banks are closed and no mail delivery, but it is really not much of a holiday for most people.

Our country County has stopped referring to it as Columbus Day and refers to it as Indigenous People’s Day. The California courts swapped it for Native American Day in September.

on mine it says columbus day. i passed by one of the banks and it's signage (also on their website) said it will be closed for 'columbus day', other banks in the area seem to be noncommital and just say 'closed for the federal holiday'.

i just found this, it's interesting (and makes me glad i'm not going a kid studying it for a test)-

There was a story on the news that airports were bracing for an above normal number of passengers this "holiday" weekend. Looking at this video of Denver Airport at 5:41 pm last night, it was a ZOO. I also found an article that says Canadian border staff were bracing for a huge influx of travelers due to Thanksgiving and Columbus Day travelers.

Yeah, all U.S. Government agency websites still call it Columbus Day.
