I can't swallow any sort of big pill, so my OB/GYN and my RE have me taking Centrum Chewable multi-vitamins (400mcg Folic Acid, plus all the normal stuff) and an 800mcg Folic Acid supplement. My friend always took 2 Flintstone Vitamins and her kids are fine. Never get sick from my Centrum or the supplements and the Centrum tastes pretty good.
Becky, E2 is estradoil. Technically, E2 correlates to mature eggs. So, using E2 levels and u/s, they're able to judge when to retrieve the eggs based on their maturity. A high E2 level can be very dangerous. A risk with any sort of ovulation induction is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). My RE's policy is not to transfer if the E2 is 3,000 or higher. She'll retrieve and freeze the embryos and transfer at a later date. The real risk comes if a pregnancy results. E2 is produced in response to pregnancy and, if it's already at an abnormally high level, it causes breathing problems and fluid build-up in the abdomen and chest cavity. I've had women in buddy groups on FF that have been hospitalized with drains. In some cases, it can be fatal. It's not something to mess around with. I'm a strong responder.....so, I have to be monitored closely. I'll take it.....my worst fear was not responding at all! So, that's the biology lesson of the day.
I made the mistake today of telling my RE that I felt like I was carrying around 2 bowling balls. Next thing I know, I'm on the table with my paper blanket.

I have 10, yes TEN, measurable follicles on EACH side. YIKES!!!! They're all roughly the same size, but they're only 2mm and they need to get to about 18mm. They grow about 2mm per day at this stage of the game, so I still have about 8 days of shots. Ah well......I'll find out my E2 later in the afternoon. That was a fun and exciting 4 hour round-trip drive.
I think June is THE lucky month.

The DIS is going to be overrun with cranky, bloated pregnant women!

Look out, men!!!
