When they say going to Disney is too expensive…

I always chuckle inside when parents of young children complain about the price of bubble wands and balloons … just wait until they are grown and you are buying theme park mixed drinks at $20 a pop 😭 ❤️
As the adult child heading down to WDW for Christmas with my family and staying in a 1 bedroom, I'm bringing my own liquor and cocktail making supplies. This will be me in that Beach Club villa room.

Disney is expensive. So are the decisions made by OP to watch The Nutcracker. Both are extremely expensive ways, per hour, to keep your kids occupied. Just own up to it and say you like nice things!
Who's saying she is occupying her kid. For the most part DVC members and their families enjoy Disney. Also are we not allowed to spend OUR Money for OUR own enjoyment?

You forgot :
Travel expense car/train/airfare to get to ORL
Food for several days. You not in ORL for one night.

PP does not need to compare with hotel costs and flights as people that are local to central FL or SO CAL go to disneyland make it a day trip.

PP was clearly comparing the cost of One Day at Disney (Ticket/Food/Souvenirs/parking) vs a shorter time frame for a performance/food/souvenirs/parking as so many people complain about the cost of Disney.

My husband asked to go to the Ballet and we tend to include my son in all things even though he can stay home with my adult daughter. So we weren't occupying him we were spending time with him.

PS. I appreciate you.

Yes its not the same as a week at the mouse house, but just had this discussion with my wife this week. Was about going to a concert, I forget who it was but it was for my oldest daughter and her friends, it was like $200 a ticket and not for insane seats either.

I was like we complain about WDW tickets being 130ish a day or whatever, but at least that's for a full day vs a couple hours. Concerts for big name acts have gotten insane with pricing.

Yes they have. My daughter goes to many concerts and I’m always shocked at the price.

I know it won’t work if you are flying … but if you haven’t checked out the Bartesian yet, ask Santa! 🤷🏼‍♀️ might fit in an owners locker? 😆 Santa’s bringing me a travel case for my BART ~ I think Santa is just tired of buying drinks at Disney ~

We just got back from Disneyworld and was pleasantly surprised how cheap dining out is there. Plus one week at a 2 bedoom unit at Marriott's Cypress Harbour Timeshare was only $700 for the week. Very reasonable.
Honestly I have found eating at the parks cheaper than eating out at home many times. I’m still dreaming about the $10.49 tacos I had at DLR last weekend. And I used a discounted Disney gift card to pay for it! I may even have saved 10% on top of that for being DVC. The tacos were very very good on top of affordable.

Just had this conversation last night after we picked up a $15 burger and fries at our local bar,…. Burger and Fries at the Mara is actually LESS … Tickets are where I think the prices are getting insane but then again a day ticket to a small local amusement park here is $40 plus these days

A couple friends thought about going to Disney World for a day last year. The husband didn’t want to spend the money. Instead they went to an NHL game. Afterwards, his wife pointed out they spent similar money on the NHL game for 2-3 hours than they would have for a full day at Disney.

Hoping to get them to Moonlight Magic with us so we can tell them hey, you paid zero a for a night at Disney. :duck:

A coworker invited me to a Kraken game last year. I was shocked the tickets were $735. Who pays that? The place was sold out on a weekday in February. Crazy that people were paying $100+ for Hennesey XO shots. I'll stick to cheap vacations like going to Disney. I bring my own wine and pay the $25 corkage fee.

Learn something new everyday! Had no idea you could bring your own.

As someone who will only attend shows/concerts with GOOD seats, I can tell you a day at Disney is less expensive. I suspect the people who say Disney is too expensive sit in nosebleed section IF they attend shows/concerts.
