Started the Clomid three days ago. So far so good! I was really afraid of the mood swings, but it hasn't been bad. I haven't really seen any side effects at all, except maybe a little bloating (which I hope is Madame Ovary producing lots of eggs!).

I am off to Vegas for a long weekend, when we get back it will be time for the IUI--I am so EXCITED!!! I was trying to be zen about it, but then I was like, nah--for once I am allowing myself to hope. It's fun.

I have myspace: myspace.com/bahtalla Please add me!

Nice to hear a recent experience with no side effects from clomid. I woudn't be on it for IUI, but the first part of what you're going through is the same as what I would have. I so can't type english tonight. These are terrible sentences.

Well I'm another one introduced to the wonderful world of clomid!!
My RE didn't like one of my cycle charts tonight and said that wasn't good if I got pregnant on a bad cycle. So he is starting me on clomid.. TOMORROW actually!! I'm so scared, I don't want to have another miscarriage!! :sad2:
The RE was like "You're in for a real treat" to my husband.. lol... Mood swings, hot flashes, moodiness... hope I don't get 'em too bad!!

Good luck to all the new Clomid girls!! I would be scared, too!

Today is CD27 for me. The past three months, AF has arrived on CD28 so I'm in the home stretch!

Good luck to all the Clomid girls. I was on it for several cycles, and didn't have too many bad side effects.

Allison - hope Af stays away tomorrow! I can't believe how regular your cycles are considering the insulin resistance.

Dh bought me an air hockey table for my birthday! We love to play, and the kids are having a blast, too.

My flowers smell wonderful - it is making me giddy.

This morning I volunteered at the bike path crosswalk for the kids walk to school program. A little girl got dropped off at my crosswalk, and then decided she would rather ride the bus. She headed out towards the road and I almost had a heart attack while I raced to stop her from going into the busy street. It was terrifying! I stopped at the school to let them know about it, but even two hours later my heart is still beating fast!

Did anyone see on the Moms to Be Thread that Nicole (7beasley) had her baby. She is beautiful - hopefully she will stop by and post a picture.

Have a good day, everyone!

Denae

Denae, Happy Birthday (a day late). That is sweet of your DH to send you flowers. And I am so glad you are enjoying them so much today as well :)

Allison, I can't believe it is almost time. It's really odd to have your life scheduled out for you for the next month or two. I still keep hoping for a slightly early delivery (but full term). I'm all set for Christmas at home no matter what though. My fingers are crossed for you for this month!

Good luck to all those on Clomid. I have a friend who is totally frustrated with taking it and trying to use the OPKs. I keep praying that she gets her BFP soon!

I have a recumbant bike at home myself. I love using it though until I get the seat repadded, I have been using my stepper. I would like a treadmill but we won't afford one that folds up. If they don't fold up, then they take up a TON of space. I like the bike a lot though, but prefer walking more. I actually like being outside walking even more than that, but until lately it's just been too hot for me to tolerate walking outside.

Hey everyone-- I haven't been posting on here very often, but find myself reading the thread daily. Sounds like there are some good signs for a couple of people here. Good luck everyone!

And for everyone who's still struggling.... I"m right here with ya!

There are currently three pregnant women at work (all younger than me!) and I'm still not having any luck. I can't get into the temping thing, so I've tried OPK. I wish they weren't so pricey!

I'm starting to think my luteal phase is too short, though-- no time for anything to implant. But I've only been off the pill for 6 months so maybe my cycle is still wonky?

I know my Dr. won't consider it a problem til we've been trying a year, so nothing to do but just wait!!! :rolleyes1

Surprisingly enough, my doctor is considering it a problem, even at 6mos. and treating me accordingly. I'm just not diagnosed with infertility (that can happen at 12mos). I didn't really expect to get anywhere with going in, but the doctor has been very proactive and gave me a prescription today. It might be worth a try to call or go in, unless you already know that your doctor won't do anything.

I went in again this morning, and didn't get clomid, but got Femera instead. Apparently it isn't FDA approved for ovulation, but my doctor likes it better than clomid, so we'll be trying it out next month, I guess. She said that if we didn't go on it, it was likely that we would be sitting in the exact same spot in 6mos. or more, so I guess I have to give it a try. I still have some reservations about it, but I think we will end up doing it.

Does anyone know how long before a prescription expires? I want to wait to have it filled until last minute in case we were to manage on our own this month. But...if it were to expire in a month, it would have expired before I turned it in, if that makes any sense.

The only recommendation I have is to start temping and charting in the next couple of months. It will give you a really good view of your cycle, and give you something to show your doctor once he or she is willing to consider it a problem.

I think it is entirely possible your cycle could still be off after going off the pill.

A lot of friends and family members got PG before me, and you know what, I think I had DD's at the perfect age. (28 and 29).

Hello! :wave2:

DH and I just started trying in July. However we got inturupted in September due to a family crisis, so not only didn't we, uh, "get together" much last month, but the resulting stress from the crisis screwed my cycle up, I was about 5 days late, I think, but then the period itself was normal, so I'm hoping I'm back on track. The crisis is over so no more stress from that, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and peeing on the ovulation stick every morning!

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone can recomend a website or other resource for a good diet plan to follow while trying to concieve and then being pregnant. By diet I don't mean trying to lose weight, I mean a healthy balanced food plan with good nutrition. I'm already taking a daily vitamin (one a day for women) and trying my best to eat plenty of fruits, veggies, dairy and lean protein, but I want to make sure I'm eating enough of the right things. Any suggestions? I've also cut out soda altogether (as of yesterday, wish me luck with that) and I'm avoiding seafood (I miss my sushi!). Any other suggestions? I know the diet (or food plan if you prefer) won't help me concieve, I'm just shooting for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Well, today is CD28, 10dpo, and no AF so far. I haven't been feeling like myself lately and this morning I took my temp and it was 98.7! Normally after O it's at 98.0. I haven't temped since around CD23 when it was 97.9, so I know one temp doesn't mean much. Plus, I think I may be getting sick so it may be all related. Anways, against my better judgment, while I was at the Dollar Tree this afternoon picking up a few things for DS's treat bags for Halloween, I bought a few HPT. I took one just now and it was a BFN. So I'm bummed. I know it's still early since I was expecting AF today, but I'm still bummed. I was really starting to think this was the month. :guilty:

NON narcotic scrpits are good for a year and narc ones are good for 6 mos.

Thanks! That's a lot longer than I would have expected. Plenty of time for my purposes, either way.

For those of you on clomid... What have your side effects been?! I took my first pill today and my head feels like it's not attached to my body!!! Like a dizzy feeling!
I hope this medication works! I mean, I ovulate, but my MD looked at my charts for the last 3 months and didn't like my 2nd cycle. My last cycle was PERFECT... 7dpo my progesterone was 19.3, the MD couldn't believe it! He said those numbers should only come out on a medicated cycle.
My fear is that since I already ovulate, and now I'm taking clomid for EXTRA SAFE OVULATION, I wonder if that would screw up my cycle ?? Anyone else take clomid to make Ovulation better?? Or is it just me?

Dznylver, I don't know much about Clomid, so I really can't help you out. I would think that one bad cycle out of three wouldn't be that bad...I would think you'd need more cycles to compare. But I'm not a doctor so who knows! I'm not sure what happens if you take Clomid and don't really need it.

Well, AF didn't show up this morning. My temp is still up, 98.6 this morning. Way higher than normal after O. I plan on testing tomorrow morning if AF doesn't show up today.

I do have a question about OPK's since this was my first month trying them. I had a dark line on CD 16, but then a MUCH darker line on CD17. CD18 had a lighter line. FF is showing my O day as CD17...I don't think that's right. I really think my positive OPK test was actually on CD17 because it was a lot darker that day. So that would put O at CD18, at the earliest, right? Which would mean I'm about 11dpo at most, right? I know I shouldn't get my hopes up like this, especially after a BFN yesterday...but I"m thinking I tested on CD10, which is early, and I tested in the afternoon after work, so maybe I can still have hope. :confused3

I have my 6 week followup with my GP today. Well, actually it's my GP's associate because my GP is out. I'm not sure if I want to bring this up or not, especially since this isn't my real dr. I think I'd rather wait it out that way I can break down in the privacy of my own home if AF does arrive this weekend!

My RE said 2 days ago that the FIRST day of a positive OPK is the day you go with. My OPK's a few months ago, I had 5 days in a row of positive lines!! But the MD said that it's the first day that counts.

Well it's not that I "don't" need clomid, but the MD wants to make sure that i don't get pregnant on one of the bad cycles, because I did already have 2 miscarriages, so he's doing it to make sure I always have a good ovulation. So I'm thinking, maybe I'll have such good ovualtion that it works the first time.. well I can hope can't i!? :rotfl:

Good morning!

I had a strange thought this morning. We are headed to Disney for Thanksgiving (4 more weeks! :yay: :yay: ). I'm just finishing AF now, but I started thinking maybe we shouldn't try to get pg this month so that I can enjoy some rollercoasters (and drinks) at Disney. :rolleyes1

Is that horrible of me?! I mean, I figure we've been trying for 6 months now.... one more month shouldn't make too much of a difference, right? ;)
