Hoping for the best, but this is awful!
Is there typically a delay with the storm surge? The reason I ask is because I have been seeing pictures and footage from Nassau all day and I don't see any evidence of flooding, certainly not anything close to 10-15 feet.
I hope the cat is OK.
... the cat was in the storm shelter with them....
.... -what cat is everyone talking about? ...
I'm no expert, but from the explanation I saw yesterday here, the storm surge tends to happen to left/west of the eye. I just watched a briefing about the storm by Atlantis' management, and they said the eye passed to the west of Nassau, which would also put it to the west of CC (meaning Nassau and CC were east of the eye). I think that means they got more wind than storm surge. Is there typically a delay with the storm surge? I am also on the 17th Dream. From what I'm seeing on the Weather Channel, it sounds like our problem will be all the damage on land. Will the roads be clear, airport open, electricity back on, terminal operational, port clear, suppliers able to obtain and deliver supplies? There are so many things that will affect the cruise before it even leaves.
If we are able to cruise, The Bahamas probably won't be ready for us.
I hope the cat is OK.
The skeleton crew on Castaway Cay... anybody know their Twitter handle? Would like to follow if possible
