Any Luck Upgrading Hopper Ticket To New Sorcerer's Pass

Well, got our DVC passes - woot woot! BUT, we paid a certain price to a third party company. Disney showed a price in their system that did not match what we paid the third party company. Maybe it was the price the third party got the tickets for?? Should we have gotten the credit for the price we paid the third party company, versus what they paid Disney?

Thanks all for all the help this morning.

At one time, they would apply the gate price when upgrading tickets from other sources.

However, I have read that the price that Disney now uses is the gate price when that ticket was actually minted…so it may not be the same as what you currently see.

I don’t have any first hand knowledge of it though. It is also possible that they are no longer going to “bridge” tickets and one will only get what they paid.

I have no issues with even just getting what we paid, but we are getting less. I will try again tomorrow to get the straighten out. I was switched around to do many numbers today, I have no clue as to actually who I should be calling now.

I've been on hold almost 7 hours now to get mine upgraded. :( I talked to one lady after an hour and she tried to help me for about 45 minutes and couldn't figure it out so she transferred me and here I sit. I either love Disney or I'm a nut.
I am currently at 6.5. Hours. You have inspired me. I have been out to breakfast and grocery store. Sounds like we are going through the same process. Please send some pixie dus our way!

I don't know whether to be upset or relieved that no one else has successfully upgraded a ticket yet.

I have had to call back into the general line multiple times, each time it seems the backlog is with "ticketing services" which doesn't have a direct number. Strangely, the last time this happened, the CM told me the wait was only 73 minutes. I'm going on 3 hours now.

In my past experience with phone ticketing CMs & park gate ticketing CMs, the phone CMs have no idea how to give me the value for my unused tickets when upgrading. Phone CMs would not give me the proper value for my base tickets purchased from the military ITT office (not military special rate tickets, but civilian rate tickets). I don't know what rate they were seeing, but they insisted that the value of my tickets were less than half of what I paid for them & the balance to upgrade to park hoppers were more than if I bought the hoppers directly thru Disney.

I refused to take their pricing & because I was only trying to add the hopper option, I kept my base tickets, kept my park reservations & went to the front of the park CM at Hollywood Studios & spoke to the park gate ticketing CM. She immediately knew what the problem was, my tickets were purchased prior to the pandemic shutdown & the tickets were no longer readily available in the ticketing system, so the value was not showing correctly. She was able to adjust the value & we paid $75 TOTAL to upgrade 3 adult 7-day base tickets to 7-day hoppers. WHEW!

I've heard of other Disboard-ers on the phone asking to speak to supervisors & getting better results for upgrading unused tickets, but none of the phone CMs were willing to elevate my questions/inquiries about upgrading to get me a better value for my tickets. Maybe I don't know how to "ask nicely" but the attitude I received from the phone CMs when I asked about the value of my tickets was outright rude in speaking to me like dirt for purchasing discounted tickets.

I Couldn’t tell from your post which way it went so I assumed you got what you paiid. Definitely should have not got less than that.

@Sandisw I think your assumption is incorrect. Reading the post it seems obvious it went nowhere. @momoftwins will be calling back tomorrow to hopefully get the value she should have gotten originally, with no compensation for the 7+ hours she has spent so far trying to resolve this issue.

I think that is what I said. The original post wasn't clear and I thought she got what she paid but was calling to have it bridged to Disney current prices.

But yes, she should get what she paid for them.

Has anyone else managed to get through to ticketing services? and upgraded your tickets to annual passes?

I was on hold a total of 10 hours yesterday, with 3 disconnects, and I'm now going on 3 hours today. Each time the front line CM has told me the wait is only "1 hour".

Welp, on hold this morning for about 30 mins - then, boop - disconnected. I called back DVC specifically, and they gave me the same number I had been calling - ticket services. Back to ticket services - "All circuits busy". Thus far I have tried 6 times today and still all circuits busy

I'm sorry, I've gotten that tone when trying to upgrade before and it's horrible. Mine was in person, the manager at HS told me that if I wasn't willing to pay the fair cost we shouldn't bring our family to Disney... then somehow blocked my account so it took us 5 locations and a call to corporate before we were allowed to upgrade to turn 5 day tickets in to 10 day- the final person, who made the call, said the one manager had done something on our account so we weren't allowed to buy tickets at all. All I did was ask if they could check the price again, so I don't know what sort of jerk went through the line before me but it was actually a totally normal human interaction on my end. The first person wanted us to pay more than $100 more per ticket than the correct price!

I went to normal phone number for tix and it asked me if I was DVC. I pressed the button. Answered questions, then hold for :45 minutes at DVC. At least music was better than yesterday. The CM was great. He explained that they are trying to prioritize those with reservations coming in two weeks.
He filled out a form and said someone will call in two weeks ( our trip is end of October). He reminded us that if we did this now that our park ressies would be reset so we may want to wait. He also said my concerns of them stop selling APs was probably not a worry.

Yes. This morning my husband called MS. That was 2 hrs on hold. They told us Ticketing would call us back in 45 min. We got a call 2 hrs later - 407 934 7639. We were able to get the DVC passes, but now I have been on hold for about 1 hr since we did not get the right amount of credit towards the new passes (we did have 5 day hopper). I was on Chat on the laptop, Damien said hello - then Damien cut and run :) so back to the phone. OMG this should not be that painful

When you upgrade, do you get vouchers to activate, or do your DVC passes become active immediately?

They upgraded the park hoppers that were linked to an upcoming stay to Sorcerer's Pass. So the just showed up on our MDE. The Pass said starting Sept 7. I was told the date will actually start from the day we activate, which will be 9/12

We’re going for a week starting Thanksgiving. We bought our daily tickets thinking that we would just upgrade them once they announced the new annual passes. Since the usual block out dates for the gold pass was always Christmas and Easter, I didn’t think this would be an issue. Since we’ll probably activate well after the Thanksgiving block out dates, at the end of our trip, does anyone know if they will allow us to upgrade them to a Sorcerers pass?

Has anyone ever had luck upgraded to an annual pass when the daily tickets they used covered a blackout period?

In the past it was possible with the Gold pass. But with the Sorcerer's...let us know what you find out!

It was reported on another thread that Disney indicated (via Chat) that any ticket used during an AP block out period cannot be applied to a new pass. This seems to reflect a change in policy — and a bummer. We were hoping to buy and use park hoppers for our 12/30 - 1/7 trip and then upgrade at the end of our trip to a Sorcerer’s Pass, but would not be able to do so since 12/30 and 12/31 are block out days.

Can you provide a link, insert a quote, or in some other way provide information on where to fin that other thread. TIA

It looks like they may have changed this with the new passes. I spoke to someone via chat on the WDW website and was told the following:

"Any tickets you use that fall in the block out time for your pass can not be applied to the cost of a new pass. "

I was able to upgrade my park hopper tickets to Sorcerer's passes Wednesday afternoon. The CM told me the current wait time for ticketing services was 3 hours and tried to talk me into calling back another day, but I asked him to add me to the queue. At that point, he told me he could set me up for a call back and that the call back time would only be about 30 minutes. So, that seemed like the way to go.

Sure enough, I got a call back about 30 minutes later. However, when I told that CM what I needed, he mumbled something about having to transfer me, and off to hold I went! But an hour-and-a-half later, I finally talked to a CM that could do the upgrade. It only took her about 5 minutes or so.

My new passes showed up in My Disney Experience immediately. But oddly enough, they show: "Expires Monday, Jun 13, 2022". Of course, I haven't even activated them yet, so I don't know what's up with that. I'm guessing it's just a placeholder date until I activate the passes.

I'm hoping the reply was from a misinformed CM, but it's certainly disheartening.
