Any Luck Upgrading Hopper Ticket To New Sorcerer's Pass

I do not see that as an option via MDE. I do want to try adding hoppers to my daughters ticket when she goes with us but will probably just wait and do it in person.

When you go into My Plans, and it brings up your resorts, there is a small tab that says Tickets, choose that. Under each ticket, I now have the word Change under it, right before it says "Reassign".

Try that!

Thank you, I was looking in that exact place. Mine do not have the word Change under it.

Darn. Mine did not last spring so it’s a new feature I am seeing. Don’t know if it is because I just bought and added the tickets in June?

I was confirmed this with Disney ticketing over the phone and in person at the park. I then asked for a Supervisor who came out and told me the same thing.
You really can't consider it confirmed until it's actually processed that way, and even then, we kind of need multiple reports. There were people in the past where the CM didn't hit the correct "upgrade" button to bridge the ticket. Let's not get too worried until we can get genuine confirmation.

Maybe?? I added the tickets last fall I think. It was for a trip we were supposed to take together in March. I am not going to worry about it. If we end up having to pay more we will. Nothing we can do about it. Doesn't mean I won't follow for information incase it will work later. I always appreciate reading about what is going on. I haven't been on the board much since we haven' t been down in almost two years. But we are going in November so I need to catch up now!

Sounds like your tickets were ones that got extended due to closure. If so,i had to call to change them.

No, I had new Gold APs that I had linked to my MDE that I haven't activated yet. They were not renewals. I also have 5 day MYW tickets for myself, DH and kids that are linked to each one that I had bought a long time ago from Www.undercovertourist.com

I've gotten confirmation from both DVC Member Services (twice) and WDW Ticketing (finally a callback) that you can still upgrade to a Sorceror Pass when you have the last few days in a blackout period. You will receive credit for the complete cost of your park hopper ticket (no bridging, though). I guess we will see when the first blackout dates occur in November, but I don't have a reason to doubt them.

And just like Gold, they want you to upgrade AFTER you enter the park. Otherwise, you won't get in.

We have a trip planned in December and this has been worrying me. Did they say you have to use the hopper on at least one non-blackout day? We were going to go Dec 18-21 and wanted to upgrade on our last day but they are all blackout dates for the Sorcerer pas.

I don't think anyone will know until November, when the first blockout dates happen for the Sorcerer AP and someone wants to upgrade.

I'm curious what the exact rules will be. What if your first day is normal and last 6 are blacked out? Can't wait to hear what happens in November.

We had our 10:day park hopper passes upgraded today. Disney called us back! I had the photo pass option and they would NOT credit that back. Said I had to do it in person we go in 4 weeks.
Great news was all of our park pass reservations were kept on the new AP passes. She said they fixed that issue.
went to my DISNEY app and all was correct!

So....... I called Ticketing at 407-939-7277 talked to a CM who setup a call back to upgrade 7 day park hoppers to the new Sorcerer Pass. Took about an hour to get the call back, but the CM who was on the call back didn't seem to know what she was doing, but tried upgrading. She managed to make my 7 day Park Hopper Passes disappear from MDE and charge my CC over $1400....... but now the new Annual Passes are not showing up in my MDE account and I have no confirmation email from Disney about the charge to my CC or the upgrade to the new passes. She said after the passes didn't show up in my MDE that she would transfer me to someone who could help, total time so far on the phone is over 1:15 minutes. I don't want to hangup because I have no record now of the transaction besides my CC bill, not very happy with Disney right now.

Update: After 2.5 hours on the phone I final got my park hopper tickets upgraded to Sorcerer Passes, took 4 CM's to get it done though.

That's great that you were able to get them upgraded! I was wondering, what number did you call to get this done? I'm assuming the Ticketing number (407-939-7277?) When I called them this afternoon the CM told me I'd have better luck calling DVC MS. They transferred me to MS and that CM told me my best bet is to upgrade them in person. My trip is at the end of Nov./beginning of Dec. I told him how Disney stated the they are "supposedly" limiting the number of annual passes and how technically they could sell out before we can upgrade in person. He didn't really seem to have an answer to that lol.

I'll have to call back another day and tough it out until I can get in upgraded over the phone haha. We bought into DVC days before all the parks and resorts closed, so we didn't get the DVC Gold Pass, and obviously couldn't until they started selling the new passes. We don't want to miss out on Annual Passes again!

We just missed the expired annual pass window to purchase new Gold Passes so I needed to wait until the new annual passes were announced. Not knowing when that would be we purchased 2 10 day park hoppers from a reseller for our October trip. The cost was $691.04 each. We finally successfully exchanged those passes for 2 Sorcerer passes. It took a little doing but it worked out well and a long phone wait. Our 10 day park hoppers were purchased through a reseller for $691.04 each ($1,382.08 total). I called the annual pass line a few weeks ago and was told I needed to talk to DVC Member Services. They transferred me to DVC Member Services and the cast member said that she would take down my information and someone from the ticket office would call me back within a dew days. I waited about 10 days with no call or message so I decided to call DVC Member Serives again and ask why I hadn't received a call back. The case member said she could patch me through to the ticket office who should be able to help me. When it connected, it said the wait time would be more than 10 minutes. 70 frustrating minutes later a cast member picked up the call. I explained to him that DVC patched me through and I had waited more than an hour and really wanted to get the annual pass purchase completed. He said "no problem". He had all of my information and put me on hold for about 2 minutes to calculate the price. When he got back on he said I would owe $218.22 more per annual pass. This seemed low to me but I had him put through the transaction. Afterwards I determined that I was charged the difference between a full price 10 day park hopper with tax (not what I actually paid for the tickets) and $899 plus tax for the Sorcerer pass plus tax, $47.18 per ticket less than if the cost I actually paid was used, While the waiting was ridiculous, I made out ok.

Yes. This morning my husband called MS. That was 2 hrs on hold. They told us Ticketing would call us back in 45 min. We got a call 2 hrs later - 407 934 7639. We were able to get the DVC passes, but now I have been on hold for about 1 hr since we did not get the right amount of credit towards the new passes (we did have 5 day hopper). I was on Chat on the laptop, Damien said hello - then Damien cut and run :) so back to the phone. OMG this should not be that painful
oh come on...LOL... Disney is famous for lousey communication esp. with anything on the internet! chat is hit and miss and things are changing so fast cast members can't keep up. It seems communications between bosses and cast members is as bad as it is between cast members and us. I do a lot of candy crush while on hold lately, LOL answer emails, etc. I get set up for an hr. wait, put the phone on speaker and settle in. In some cases they offer a call back, but keep the phone on you as if you don't answer on the second ring, they hang up and you will have to start the whole process all over again.

As far as upgrading a ticket that contains a normal Park Hopper ticket to an AP on your last day when your ticket dates contained Blackout dates for that AP.

I just had a very long and detailed phone conversation with Disney Ticketing. My plan was to buy a 5 day ticket ending December 20th and then on the last day upgrade to a Sorcerer Pass just like you could in the past. Initially he (and DVC Member Services) said it would work fine. Then he went through and read the business rules for the new APs while I was on the phone with him. Apparently what I was told on online chat (that was my post quoted earlier in the thread) is correct. You CANNOT upgrade a regular ticket into an AP if the dates on the regular ticket would be Blackout Dates on that AP. So in my case I cannot upgrade to a Sorcerer Pass on 12/20, only to an Incredipass. This is obviously an annoying change that closes a sort of loophole many of us have used in the past that they seem to have closed with the new APs.
