Colglazier is receiving (or taking) some credit for the remodel:Somebody needs to call Colglazier and talk him out of that.
Quote taken from this interesting article:He managed to push through a long-awaited renovation of Club 33, a private-membership restaurant in New Orleans Square that first opened in 1967. The club, the only place in Disneyland that serves alcohol, maintains such a low profile that the resort does not make public the membership fee – though two years ago, when the resort decided to expand membership to reduce an 800-name waiting list, the Register reported the cost. At the time, the individual initiation fee was $25,000 with annual dues of $10,000. Because of its modest capacity, the swanky venue had been perceived as operating far short of its potential, but issues involving the redesign and the financials had turned the refurbishment project into a marathon, says Jon Storbeck, vice president of Disneyland Park.
“He came in with a fresh set of legs,” Storbeck says of Colglazier. “He was instrumental in getting it across the finish line.”

Disneyland top man Michael Colglazier literally walks in Walt's footsteps
Not sure how accurate the info is but I've heard that when the Club does reopen, only members will be allowed, not guests. At least, not at first. Has anyone else heard this to be true? Makes sense that members would take priority.
I think the issue will actually be, member attended meals can be booked for 30 days prior to non-member attended meals. So, the restaurant may end up being booked for member only meals the first month. The Jazz club is supposed to be ala 1901 is my understanding. Only for members or guests, but but the member has to be present. I hadn't heard they are changing the C33 part itself.

It is only going to be more difficult for the first couple of months. And at Christmas. It will be the same rules as before, but since it is new, it will have more member interest. This is in alignment with what I was told. So even if someone is invited by a member, the member has to be present. Would make it much harder for non-members to dine at Club 33.... At least most of them.
