Any Hikers/Outdoorsmen-women on board?

Question - I'm doing my Christmas shopping and DS is a big hiker and outdoorsman. I would like to buy him one of those collapsable wool hats - the kind that has a brim, almost like an "Indiana Jones" hat. You are supposed to be able to wad these hats up and stick them in your back pocket and when you want to wear it, it "pops" back into perfect shape.

I found some online for around $39.95 - it that a good price? And has anyone ever bought and used one of these hats?

Is it a Tilly hat? If so that is a good price. Those hats are amazing! I have had one for about 5 years and I love it!

I don't know what a Tilley hat is?? I'll have to go back and check the bookmarked sites to see if it's a Columbia brand or not.

I take it that these hats are good for hiking, camping, etc.?

I bought DH and hat like that last Christmas from NogginTops. It is a great hat and he looks sexy in it if I do say so myself.
