Does anyone have any great ideas for a Disney countdown that a 4 & 5 year old would enjoy? We've done the calander before but i was looking for something a little more fun. Any suggestions?

We are not going until next summer, so me and my DD (she will be 6 next month). We made a countdown chain and dhe takes one link off every night. We got it from themouseforless.com. :cheer2:

Perhaps do something similar to an advent calendar....where each day present a small trinket or candy or maybe small pics of various spots in WDW (you could easily print that off from the internet).

Or designate one night a week (or more if you're up to it) for a Disney movie night.

With their meals, maybe incorporate the number of how many days you have left into their food. I.e. Make pancakes in the shape of a mickey head...and with food coloring while the pancake is cooking, "write" the # of days left onto the pancake.

Anyway, those are just a few ideas.

We did the countdown paper chain, too! Dh and I made it last night as a matter of fact. Our kids 3 and 5 were so excited when we explained what it meant to them. We also wrote numbers on the chain so that we could tell them how many days were left after they've pulled a link off. They take turns each night.

Wow, I love the number of days left on the food idea, that is unique, I've never heard that one before. I think kids would get a kick out of that.

When my kids were 8,6 and 3, we mailed letters to the house addressed to them from Disney characters. Each week we would send a letter from a different character and it would tell them about a ride or activity we had planned. The last week before we left, the letter was from Mickey himself! Our kids looked forward to recieving mail each week and to seeing who it was from.

Thank you so much!! I love that idea!!!

ohh..oh..pick me.. :Pinkbounc pick me... :Pinkbounc I have one!

I make hidden mickeys.. I take construction paper and cut out one bigger circle (for the head) and two (for the ears) write descending numbers to on each one and every day hide one!!!

You can cheat buy getting the paint chips from Home depot and use those too.

Did I mention I do this for my 41yr old husband? I've hidden them in the microwave, on his rearview mirror, in the shower, on his dinner plate.. but my favorite was when I taped it to the inside lid of the toilet.... he almost pee'd on mickey  He really gets into it... if he doesn't find one by the time of the day he should, he starts walking around saying "where's my hidden mickey"
