Any DVC'ers going in July?? When and WHY?

We are going for our 2nd ever trip in July. Our very first trip to Disney way back when....was in late July for 5 nights at Dixie Landings ( name then) and we went this past Aug. for our first ever Aug. summer trip. This year we are slated to go to St. Petersburg for 4 nights starting July 22nd followed by 6 nights at BCV. We have never stayed at BCV. We have only stayed at SSR and BWV. Just curious on how the crowds will be then. We didn't think Aug. was that bad...but we also arrived mid Aug. so people were probably wrapping up their summer trips. Thanks.

Last year we stayed at BCV the last week of July. It's crowded and hot, but it never bothered me. Just make sure you get to SAB by 10 if you want good seats. And if you want to beat the crowds in the parks, go when they open and leave by noon.

Trust me, though, it's not going to be nearly as crowded as when we go this year, which is the week of the fourth of July and possibly the week of NYE, which are pretty much the two busiest weeks of the year. If this gives you any indication, we've been at NYE several times and are still crazy enough to go back. Like I said, it's crowded when you go, but just play it smart and it won't affect you too much.

Are talking Christmas/NYE packed?? LOL I think since we will have been 4 times in year when we go in July that we won't be all about the parks then anyway. IF we can go a few hours when they first open...that is fine. We did that in Aug. and it worked out good.

First of all, you will love BCV - beautiful resort!
We went the last two weeks of July last year to OKW. Very busy, very hot, but we still loved every minute of it.
Use the EMH, especially evening ones when the sun goes down - parks are busy for about the first hour, but if you can stay longer, you can pretty much walk on everything.
And use the fastpasses as much as possible - you'll be glad you did!
Drink lots of water, use lots of sunscreen, and when you're sweating and pushing through crowds - SMILE, YOU'RE IN DISNEY WORLD!!!

we will be down july. We tend to go nov, dec, feb, and Oct. we will try july only going to park 3 days. as a kid i went in Aug last week. I know how the crowed will be. Go earl hit the pool and back at night.

Going July 16th thru the 19th. We have never been there in July before but I want to spend my 50th birthday with my dh and have a magical dinner at the California Grill. What better way to spend a birthday ... actually considering doing the Epcot segway tour also. We will start the day early, drink lots of water, take a break midday and then enjoy the evening out.

A friend of mine just did the Segway in Jan. when we were there too. She said it was the most fun..... a totally amazing time. SHe raved about it. Sounds like a perfect choice for your b'day.

We'll be there in July as well. (7/8-7/17).We have to go in the summer because my husband's a teacher. Growing up we always went in the summers. Be ready to sweat and wait in line. But, it's still a ton of fun.

We'll be at BCV for a week, then 2 nights in AKV! Can't wait!!!

Hey OP, we're also in Maryland!

We'll check in to BCV on Monday July 28 for 7 nights...maybe we'll see you there!

We've been going at this time lately because it's during DD's b-day & she insisted we go then.

We went last year in July with 6 kids and 2 adults. I'm a firm believer in getting to the parks early, leaving during the heat and coming back in the evening....also FAST PASSES!!! Using that system last year and we had absolutely no problems. We really didn't wait in lines super-long. Yes, it was hot, but we're from Houston....no big deal! My kids go to camps during June so I'm stuck with WDW in July. We still love it!!

DH is a teacher, college is slow then, and I was able to book 3 nights AKV CONCIERGE! We'll be staying from 7/26 to 7/28 at VWL, then moving to AKV from 29 to 8/1. We're doing both the evening and the Sunrise Safaris. Don't know when we'll be able to get a concierge studio again, so we wanted to take advantage of it. When I called MS to make the reservations, I gave them 3 weeks to choose from, and this is what worked out.

We've been in July before, and use TGM, early ams, walk slowly, drink water, afternoon breaks, and enjoy the later hours in evening.

We go over 4th of July for the U.S. Open world martial arts tournament. To be honest we don't even do the parks, too packed, too hot.
We do our events, relax at the resort pool (AKV this year), take a day for Discovery Cove (capacity controlled), some evenings at SeaWorld because it comes with the DC entry. Miniature golf at Winter/Summerland. Go over to the Boardwalk for an evening. I also have tix to LaNouba this year
