Any chance my waitlist may still come through?

We are 14 days away from our trip to WDW, I have been waitlisted for a 1BR BCV since January and it looks to me like my chances are about gone. Has anyone seen movement this late?

I really REALLY wanted the pool again this year - hope my DS will not be scarred by the scarey clown! I am glad I put in for close to elevator because I guess we will be stuck at BWV :)

Well, I'd rather be "stuck" at BWV than here at home, so I'll gladly trade places with you!:thumbsup2

man that's cold. you could always stay home and try again next year. I bet there are a ton of people waiting to be stuck at BWV and can't get in:goodvibes

Our waitlist for a studio at BCV (adding 2 more nights to our already-existing reservation)for early August just came thru yesterday afternoon. It wasn't there when I checked in the morning, but was there in late afternoon. We had been on the waitlist for a little over a month.

Just keep checking!
Here's some pixiedust: for you!

Your chances are slim but you have nothing to lose by staying on the waitlist in case someone has to cancel at the last minute. Once you are 7 days out there is no waitlist anymore and you will have to call MS every day at that point.

We were just at the BWV pool a few days ago and there were lots of kids enjoying the pool slide (some "big kids" too!). It's not SAB but everyone seemed to be having a good time. It was so hot while we were there, I was just happy to be in the water regardless of which pool it was!

Good luck!

Personally I prefer the scary clown to the sandy bottom anyday!

Did you call to update your waitlist at 30 days? Otherwise it has expried!

Yes I did although at that point no days were available. I so prefer BCV over BWV - but we will survive if we have to stay at BWV. I was joking about the clown - my son loves the pool but I prefer BCV but what are you going to do when you make your reservation 5 months out?

Try the day by day at 7 days IF you are willing to move. I have had success with that but getting an entire stay for that lenght may be an issue.

I'd call everyday, maybe even two times a day. Sometimes rooms "magically" appear! If you can't get in up until your check in day, I'd still go over to BCV and ask at the front desk before checking into the BWV. You just never know...

Just curious, does calling help your chances if you're already on a waitlist? I thought they called you if your waitlist request opened up? TIA

No. Procedure has been changed.

If your waitlist opens up, they don't call, they just put you on it.

Thanks. I actually just called to add on several waitlists & was informed about the auto sign-up. I didn't realize they changed. Here's a follow-up question though. Can you have waitlists for multiple resorts & room types {ex...studio & 1 BR at VWL, BCV, BWV} and if so I assume they book you for the first one that comes up? And if that's the case, I assume you'd have to call back & request your other waitlists again if you wanted to keep those? Thanks again.

Sorry I can't help you there. I know other DISers have asked that question before, but I don't know the answer. :) Someone here will know for sure.

If a waitlist comes through for you all your other waitlist dissappear, so you need to call again and move to the back of the line. Don't list something just to list it if you really don't want to stay there.

I've been told different things by different CM, but I believe you're correct. When I first wait listed, I was told that they were ordered, so if my first choice matched, then it's finished, but if my second choice matched, I would still have earlier priority on my first choice. However, if the second choice matches and wipes out the first choice, and I could miss out on my first choice if it would have matched later.

I'm facing the dilema on how much I want the first choice, and if I should delist the second choice. I'm thinking I don't want to give up the chance of getting first choice as much as a improving odds getting a second choice. Guess it depends on whether 1st and 2nd choice are close or wide apart versus 2nd choice and default.

So the corollary is don't list something you DO want, even though you want it, if you really want a chance at your top choices.

Example: You've got reservations at SSR and would prefer to be at AKV or BWV/BCV. You really want to be at an Epcot resort in October and only find AKV a small improvement over SSR. You've been on the wait list for 3 months and if you match at AKV, your chance of matching BWV/BCV just went down. Even though you would prefer AKV over what you got, eliminating AKV improves your chances at BWV/BCV (how much is unknown). Note, listing two or more choices that you do want more or less equally isn't a problem.

Preference: SSR < AKV << BCV < BWV
