We are planning on POFQ for Feb 24-Mar 3rd, 2012, but I haven't booked yet because I am waiting to see how much airfare is going to cost me!!! Southwest doesn't release it's airfare for those dates until July 26th, and it's killing me to wait!!! The airfare will make the difference between POFQ and All-Stars or POP (which we wouldn't mind either).

Who else is holding out to find out airfare prices? popcorn::

We're waiting... but we dont' HAVE to fly. We're only in NC and while I don't want to drive.... I will. So for us it's not a matter of where we will stay but how long. If we have to drive we won't be able to stay quiet as long since it will effect us as far as travel days. I'm somewhat stuck though because I don't anticipate the prices to be low enough for us to fly when they first come out. I normally have to wait and watch over time. Or wait for a ding!

We are in NH so that would be a 24 hour drive for us - not an option. I have actually had the best luck snagging the best fare as soon as the new fares are released! I once got Thanksgiving travel to Disney that way for $950 for the four of us! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I know you are excitedly waiting! Good luck, I hope you get great fares.

I was doing the same thing with Airtran since I had gotten RT flights for 5 from DFW to ORL for $1084.30 last year. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and nothing ever came out. I called to see what was going on and Airtran tells me that since they are merging in 2012 with Southwest they are pulling out of DFW as of November 21 :guilty:
I immediately went onto the SW website and a 1 way ticket from Dal to Orl was $286. That would have made our flights $572 each rt.:scared1:
I started shopping every day, then last Thursday I got a price alert from Kayak that rt from dfw to orl had dropped and I booked with AA on a non stop going out there and Delta with 1 stop coming home for $202 rt :cool1: I was sooooo excited.

:tink: Here is some pixie dust for you that you get amazing air fare:goodvibes

I fly Southwest  out of Manchester, NH and was going to tell you that the best fares are immediately upon release but see that you already know that :goodvibes I have even set my clock to get up early because lately they seem to be releasing the rates before 6AM  Good luck :wizard: I am waiting for the next releases for the end of April :dance3:

Count me in:cool1:We are going to Disney in March and will be at the Poly ,everyday I go to Southwest and Jet Blue .I did a search of last years posts and it looks like last week in July is when they will open up:banana: We also live in NH .Heres hoping they open up soon:tink:

I'm waiting for airfares, too! Trying to decide between April or May. So far, no good airlines prices on Continental, so I'm waiting on Jet Blue.

Here are some "patience" vibes for you! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Another NH person here.....do you know what time the flights were released and how were the prices? I am going for April vacation, MHT-MCO and hoping for decent fares....I will be using my RR points, but still hoping for good fares.:goodvibes

Hi , you should check out Jet Blue for your week, they had some great fares:rotfl:.I wish they had some for our vacation week but it really is early and I will monitor every day till the right fare comes along! Yes I'm obsessed :3dglasses

The flight scheduled opened up thru travel date 3/9/12 yesterday morning. The prices were honestly not a steal for sure, and I had to compromise my flight times to get into my desired price range...I ended up paying $1192 for my family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). I wanted under $1200, so I guess, there it is (was hoping for more savings)...the schedule for April is said to be opening up on 9/5/11 - so good luck to you in getting good fares!!! :wizard:

Yes, I looked at Jet Blue and AirTran, but both were comparable to Southwest and would involve going into Boston etc...so in the end, SW WAS the better deal...just not a "deal", you know?

Airfare is skyrocketing though, I got our fare as soon as it was released. Our friends booked literally 30 minutes after us for the same flights and paid $400 more...I checked later in the day and my same flights were $700 more!!! It's crazy, but again, I've always found that hitting it right when the fares come out is the best way...unless there is a sale, which I will be monitoring for as well! popcorn::

I was looking at doing a cruise in late March and decided against it. I was going to pay more in airfare from Louisville to Florida than the cruise cost. The number of people flying are down too. My daughter has to fly to her dad's house and the flight to Chicago is always full. This last time, there were about 50 people on the plane (I overheard the employees talking) and the flight after hers to Ft. Lauderdale had 17 people on it.

Man I wish I could get airfare for around 1200
Typically for me it is much higher
Jet blue has flights listed till may first fwiw
