Another reason why WDW needs to bring back the Bounceback rates

Last night I was thinking and another reason came to me why WDW needs to bring back the Bounceback rates. The main difference is between them and when they were advertising Free Dining in the rooms is that with the Bounceback rate it expired on your check-out day, which was always different for everyone. Since the Free Dining offer was also available to the public anyone could have reserved and not just those guests staying onsite at WDW, plus that offer expired for everyone back on 12/20/10. Basically I feel that the Bounceback rate made you feel special because only a certin amount of guests could reserve and with the Free Dining it wasn't special because it was not exclusive to anyone. So what do you all think?

I agree...course I have never had a bounceback offer in my room on any trip, but if I did, then I would have probably booked it!

I agree. For one, free dining doesn't even appeal to us. We aren't big eaters and usually only schedule 1-2 sit-down meals per trip. We were very disappointed that free dining was the only offer when we were there late Nov-Dec 8. It really wasn't even a special offer, since it was also available to the general public. We make out much better with a room discount/bounceback code. We usually book 1-2 return trips with the bounceback offers left in the room. We checked out this Dec with no return trips planned. And I do have to admit and agree that having that bounceback offer did feel like a little reward and show of appreciation for staying onsite.

I loved having a bounceback offer. When we scheduled our trip before we left, it was like the magic continued all year until our next trip.

I think that the bounceback offers were a great idea. I wonder if the reason they got rid of them is because occupancy was down and maybe they were not being used in the same way they were prior to the downturn in the economy. Since they were forced to offer so many general public discounts, maybe they felt there was no need.

I have a feeling, and its JMO, that you will see them come back in the future--we are seeing that the general public offers have been scaled back a bit. Maybe that is their way to slowly move away from those and back to the bouncebacks.

Not quite... In years past, BB offers would be good for timeframes of 9-12 months further. Then public offers would only be good for up to the next 3 months. PINs at the time would be good for 3-9 months.

In fact, you could guess what would be coming out in the future with rough dates, by looking at the BB offers. These would later be sent out via PINs, and eventually be made available via public offers.

But BB offers, though expired on checkout for the guest, were valid for about 2-3 months.

All this changed last year, when Disney changed their method of advertising offers for this year. They made available offers to the public that in the past would only be available via BB. PIN offers now are different to public offers, with long terms, but with lots of black outs.

I wish Disney would eliminate the dining plan promo and bring back bounceback rates for room discounts. I know I would end up booking something on my trip in Feb if I had a bit of temptation in my room that I wouldn't be able to resist.

I loved the BB rate and liked leaving knowing that I had a deposit to return again. (Didn't have to talk DH in going to Disney, again...etc)

Most cruise ships have a discount if you book while on the cruise so it must work. Hoping that Disney will offer BB again before the year is out!

(Besides, I would think it cost very little to advertise - since it was a flyer in the room, unlike commercials, ads, etc)

Bumping this back up to find out if there are still no BB offers in the rooms? I had been hoping to book a BB on my upcoming trip. ):

I like BB offers, but the only ones I could ever take advantage of were the FD bounce backs because they are for the same time NEXT year. Every other time we received a BB off it was for a room only discount that has to be used later that SAME year. We just generally can't afford to go to Disney twice in the same year (Unless I stop going home to see my family.) I do not like PIN offers. They just seem unfair to me because I can't figure out how they are generated or how to get one.

Bounceback is still available, cause we got one in our room at the GF back in March. It was good for travel dates up to Dec 17th, 2011

:thumbsup2 My first thought when I saw this thread was, bring it back, I didn't know it was gone. Glad to know I am not losing my mind.

Just returned from our stay @ Pop and booked a return next year on Bounceback. Offer is for free QS Dining @ Values (we booked this and upgraded to DDP) and for DDP @ moderates. This offer appeared midway through our stay. There was a Bounceback for 35% lodging (forget details) waiting when we arrived in our room as well.

We also had a bounceback in our room during our Poly stay in March. A few days before we went on that trip, I received an email from Disney telling me to check my email while I was there for a special offer good only during our stay. The email I got during our stay was room-only discount, 40% off deluxe, for select days through 2011. We booked our upcoming November trip with that offer.
