Another ME question???

Can I sign up for ME and just let them take our luggage to the resort? I'm thinking of renting a compact car but we travel with a ton of luggage. We are flying SW. I know we will have to transport our own luggage on the return trip. Sorry if this question has been answered already. Thanks for any responses

No, this is not possible. In order to take your luggage, you need to be on the bus - at least one member of your party, anyways. Your luggage will not be taken from the airport if no one signs in to take the bus to your resort.

Yes you can use ME just for luggage, that's what the information we got from Disney said--- call the ME number and ask them directly to be sure 1-866-599-0951.

So much conflicting information. I called the regular reservation nuimber and was told just the opposite. I really like the idea of not having to touch our bags (we are staying for 12 days this year, and will have a lot of luggage), but we are used to having a town car waiting for us at the airport to take us straight to our resort. The thought of waiting in endless lines waiting for a bus that doesn't go directly to our resort (polynesian) is frightening, and would ruin the start of our vacation. I am going to call the DME number in the morning to get a definitive answer.

Well, just got off of the line with DME. I was told by Pauline that you cannot use DME to transport your luggage only. You must be on the bus in order for the DME service to transport your luggage. However, you can still use the check in service when leaving Disney, and then use any means of transportation to get back to the airport. In my mind this settles it. My family will use DME when we arrive in FL, and cross our fingers about the ride to our resort. I'll take the magic of having our bags delivered to our room, and accept any minor inconvenience as the "price" of the service.
