Another MAGICal Adventure - WBTA 2015

What date is the Platinum PIF, for booking?

Thanks,

Jennifer:moped:

It's 120 days prior to the sail date, so if I've counted correctly, May 22.

(Thanks for asking about that! I added it to the Page 1 post so everyone can make their plans - and plot their strategy!)

Disney cruises are addictive, aren't they? ::yes:: What other cruises have you done?

Welcome aboard! :welcome: We're pretty good at posting info here and on FB. Page 1 here will (eventually) have all the activities listed, so it's our go-to spot for info, but we'll also put it in the pinned post at the top of the FB page.

Hi everyone! We are set for our first cruise this October. I can't wait! since DH had a heart attack and bypass surgery, I think the cruise is going to work better than the parks for us. I am "anticipating" ;) that he will love it as much as I hope he does! This sailing looks like a great fit for us. I just have a few questions...Are the seas usually quite calm? Do the prices go up pretty significantly? I was hoping to book onboard in 3 months, but don't want to risk it if they jump up a lot! Thanks for the info!! Hope to report back with a stateroom number!:thumbsup2

Welcome aboard! :welcome: How very scary - heart attack and bypass surgery! I hope he's doing well after all that.

The seas were like glass when we went in 2011, and others have had similar experiences with this route in other years, so no reason to think they'd be any different. Anything can happen, of course, but I'm betting on calm seas.

You could go ahead and book it now, then rebook when you cruise in 3 months. That way, if the prices have gone up, you can do the math and decide if it works out better with the discount and OBC (on-board credit), or if you should just keep the booking you have. All you have to pay at the moment is the deposit and there won't be any penalties to rebook (unless you book concierge), so I'd go for it. ::yes::

Booked our second Disney Cruise, 25th wedding anniversary celebration  looking forward to meeting everyone and getting lots of help to make the best of our trip.

Welcome aboard! :welcome: Congrats on the anniversary! What was your first DCL cruise?

Have not got used to all the abbreviations but 2005, we did port canaveral to Nassau to castaway,, we were running full pelt from a hurricane so the itinerary got reversed!
When we arrived at cast away the nets had been dislodged and lots of the activities had to be cancelled.. Still amazing fun and this is our second once in a lifetime cruise :rotfl:

We've done 2 4-nighters to the Bahamas and the 2011 WBTA. We had great weather every time, so we'll hope for smooth sailing like the 2011. The 2011 was supposed to be my landmark-birthday-once-in-a-lifetime cruise. We're signed up for this and the EBTA next year. So much for "once in a lifetime." :rotfl:

I asked about this on the FB page, but I figured I should ask here, too. Do we have anyone here who is good at graphic design? I was thinking it would be nice to have a logo or graphic for the cruise, for people to put in their Dis sigs and possibly to have pins made. We ordered pins for the 2011 WBTA and they were really cute. If you're talented in that way, feel free to post some ideas here and/or on FB. Once we have a design, I'll look into pin possibilities. Thanks!!

I have a question for anyone who has done the WBTA before, or just might know the answer. I understand it's customary to tip $1-$2 when you're brought room service, and that the typical currency on board is US$ (that's just what I've heard; I have never sailed DCL). However, since the cruise will originate in Europe, do the castmembers care if you tip in Euros? Is there some way to get small bills easily (like, in Barcelona) before boarding the ship? I really don't want to haul a bunch of single bills from home and try to keep track of them while I'm exploring other parts of Europe but I DO want to partake in room service. Any advice?

You can sign the chitty that the room service personal have with them which will save you having to carry $1's. Sometimes they ask you to sign, as it is a confirmation your room service has been delivered, but sometimes they don't and we had to ask for it to add a tip. You can change larger $'s for singles at Guest Services though.

Tips are optional and you might get varying replies but we do tip from $2 - $5 depending on how much they are bring prefer to just get our own things.

We brought our singles from the States. We just stashed them with our credit cards and Euros in our hotel safe til we boarded. But Marilyn's suggestions are excellent! We might just do that next year. We usually tipped $2 unless we ordered a lot of stuff.

Marilyn!! Are you on this trip??? Or are you just lurking. ;)

We booked this cruise while sailing on the Fantasy last month. My wife (Denise, aka denlo) and I (Wil, aka wdrl) have sailed twice before with Disney (Magic-February 2013 (pre renovations); Fantasy-May 2014) and we are looking forward to checking out the renovations that were done on the Magic last year.

Today, I called Disney and asked if it was offering any pre cruise tour packages for our cruise. Adventures By Disney has a three-night Barcelona hotel/tour package for sailings in August 2015, but ABD hasn't finalized any pre cruise packages for the September 19, 2015 sailing. The Cast Member I spoke to said she would make a note that we might be interested in a pre cruise package. She indicated that if enough passengers expressed interest, then ABD might add a pre cruise package for our cruise.

I would definitely suggest $ rather than € for room service tips, because there is only one short European stop on the WBTA so the CM probably wouldn't have the chance to spend them before heading back to the US.

We always save our quarters from when we go to Orlando and have a toll change pot and end up using those for tips to room service. Change is as good as notes, :rotfl:

We also give approx $2 unless we order lots :thumbsup2

Great to see lots more people signing up.:cheer2:

Welcome aboard! :welcome: I had a chance to tour the Magic in May and you're going to love the updates! I can't wait to sail on her to try them out. A pre-cruise package might be interesting. I'll have to take a look at the package for August and see if something like that might fit our needs.

Hi all :) I'm going to try this again. I had this years WBTA booked but sadly had to cancel. When 2015's Fall itineraries finally came out some friends asked me to join them on the October 18, 2015 Baja cruise. I figured I couldn't do the Baja and this one, they would be too close together. Well, I can't get this one off my mind so I just booked it this afternoon. It will probably be just me but I booked it for two just in case. I'll cancel the 2nd person when we get closer.
