Twilight, hope your ankle is feeling better. When I went to Oklahoma last summer to meet our new granddaughter I somehow messed up my foot the day before we left Michigan and limped the whole week. Not fun at all.

Mackenzie......just tell your husband they now card me because I look too old to be in a casino having fun!!!

Glad to hear you had another successful trip, Jane! The hotel pics are great. Looks like a nice place to stay.

Your use of the word "Stay" reminded me of a few reviews that stated the bathrooms, and their opulence had the traveler wanting to live at the hotel. Now, I'm not one for bathroom reviews but, I'll make an exception. The room had to be 8' x 16' at least because at the far end was a soaker tub, and toilet. The middle of the room a glass enclosed shower stall about 6' in length. Then, the vanity sink also about 5' in length. It had a lighted make-up mirror.

Speaking of trips......

I first posted on this thread over a year ago giving the weather details for my son stationed at an Air Force base in Oklahoma. Well.....this same son is now just leaving that base (he's put in his 6 years) and is headed in a U-Haul ( with my DH) to Ohio where he will be an air traffic controller. I will so miss Oklahoma and his time in the Air Force. They were good to him, his wife and little girl. Just a little sad right now guys.

Sounds like he had a good run in the Air Force Won't he be closer to you in Ohio? More chances to visit and see your DGD, right? Air Traffic Controller sounds like an awesome job.

Aww sorry to hear you're a bit sad.

Does he have to move around often enough or is Ohio going to be the planned place to stay for a good while?

You're right, Ron. The big plus side is Danny and his family will be a lot closer but the Air Force did him well. He did a lot of growing up with them and as a Mom I will always be appreciative of what he accomplished with them. And on the flip side you should see the threads and posts six years ago about him going in........ I was a mess that he was joining!!!! So weirdly ironic!!!

+9 is a perfectly respectable daytime temp for late fall - especially iif it's crisp and sunny! Such a pretty time of year. We're having a good week here. No sub-zero in the forecast. We also had an exceptional sunrise yesterday morning that had everybody talking. Purples, scarlet and oranges shot through with brilliant streaks of pure light - mesmerizing!

Ouick question for ALDIO'ers that DiS during the day: There was a thread yesterday morning that was about a lady feeling offended about getting a last minute wedding invitation. It only had a few replies by the time I had to "sign off". It seems to be gone now. Anybody know what happened?

I think he can and will stay there for awhile but not sure how the FAA really operates.

I have a "shade garden" too and boy, did my impatiens perform like champs this summer!! But they also simply DO NOT tolerate frost - mine have been gone since early September when it started dropping below 0C at night.

I'd like to presume you mean you're not going to do laundry, otherwise I'll be keeping my eye out for a Criuse Critic thread about the weird tablemate who didn't shower for the whole week...

Sounds like you're well organized and ready for a great trip. Being off the grid can be a good thing but if you get a chance we'd all love to hear from you. Any Halloween parties during the trip?
