I tried doing a search but couldn't find the answer.....

Is the price for an AP the same at the gate as it is online? I'm wondering it there are any discounts for APs.

Yes the AP is the same price at the gate as it is online. There are also perks and discounts to AP holders. At certain stores you get 20% off your purchase when you show your card (with an ID) and you are also eligible to receive a Tables in Wonderland card which allows you 20% off your meals at select restaurants. This card is great it can be used toward appetizers that are not covered under the meal plan and also Alcohol.

If you are looking into a AP I think you need to figure out how many days you will be in Disney take the cost of individual tickets and compare them to what AP's will cost you.

A note of caution though if you have an AP and are staying at a resort during a free dining period you still need to buy 2 days worth of park tickets in order to get the promotion (however they usually will offer a AP discount too that has to do with the room along with free dining). Also as an AP holder you can only book fastpasses 30 days out and only 1 day at a time. There is also a limit to how many fastpasses you can hold at a time and that it 7 days worth of passes.

You also get free parking which is nice if you stay offsite.

As you can see there are so pros to having an AP and some cons. Hope I helped! pixiedust:

I'm assuming the question referred to a Universal Orlando Resort AP since the post was under the Universal category.

UOR APs sometimes have discount promotions with Coke products, etc. and sometimes they give 15 months for the price of 12 months. Both of these types were offered within the last 2 years, so keep your eyes open.

Those were only promotions for Florida residents. There haven't been promotions for regular peeps for ages.
