Anna and Elsa five hour wait!

I don't care if George Clooney was at the end of the line giving out kisses. No way would I wait that long for anyone. We saw them at Disneyland. They repurposed the Tangled and it is now the Frozen area. Massive line as well. I peeked in and they were doing the standard Love & Shove.

Our meet & greet with them was hands down the best of the day & in the top 5 of the trip!!

So, if WS doesn't open until 11:00, where are people lining up at 9:00? (I'm talking about the ones who don't have any sort of ADR).

Sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread...

As long as Akershus is open and the park is open, anyone can get in line for the m&g. They did close down access to Norway when I was in line at one point when Akershus was done letting people in for breakfast. There was a dad trying to get back to us in line but could not until 11am. So if you are the first few families in line and have kids not with you keep that in mind that they may be held up until 11am.

I would not wait 5 hours to meet Abraham Lincoln if he came back from the dead. My "wait for a character" limit is pretty much 20 minutes.

We met them last Friday 27 Dec. went to Epcot specifically to see them. Dh got in line at 4.20 and we met them at 6. He sat with a coffee and read his book. Had asked the cm's working there the days before and they suggested 4.30 was a good time to get in line. I took the kids around the world and we watched the CP at 5pm from the ropes. I asked about who needed to wait in line and was told just one person per party and the rest could join at the last minute. Told them I felt like this was wrong and she just said that that's what everyone was going and the rules allowed it do why mske your kids stand there when they don't need to. Was a great afternoon and dd got to meet her two new favourite princesses.

They were lovely and when I asked for an extra autograph it was no problems and I apologise for taking so long and Anna say there are no sorrys here. They were so nice :) I'm do glad we did it as I think it made dd's vacation.

Oh, man, I would be so angry if a person's entire family got into line in front of me.

When we were there they were encouraging this so it was all just dads in line. Worked out perfect because everyone was in the same boat. We had an equally wonderful experience meeting them. Glad the PP did too! :)

I'm not sure why you would be angry at a M&G because it does nothing to your wait time really. Each family has one experience so why should it matter if it was just the DH or a family of 4?

This isn't really true. IN general a couple of adults or a family with one child is the fastest and it goes up from there. A family with two kids now has an extra autograph and if they are doing a pic of each kid seperate then one of the two of them it gets longer. Add in a third child and times continue to rise. If the adults want in the pictures even longer.

So no a family of 4 does take more time then a single person.

You have no reason to be angry when you weren't paying attention to the rules of the line. Everyone has just a place holder there. The CM keeps count on a ticker of how many in each party so they have the correct head count for each session. Being the only person unaware of what is going on doesn't make anyone else at fault.

It's just inherently unfair to groups with only one adult.

OP here again. We are back in Epcot again today and there is currently a three hour wait.

After reading about the three and five hours waits for a character interaction, all I can say is I'm grateful I had boys who had no interest in princesses. :) Come to think of it, they weren't overly interested in any of the characters if they had to wait in a line to meet them. At least some of the "meet and greets" seemed less structured and more spontaneous years ago.

We met Anna and Elsa on 12/14. We had Breakfast at Cape May, then walked through the International Gateway, and headed straight for Norway. I had intended to get there around 10:15am, but it was more like 10:45am when we got there. We were told we'd be the first family for the 1pm meet! We had an 11:50am FP+ for Soarin', but luckily I was able to change that to later in the day. My husband volunteered to wait in line, while I took the kids to do other stuff.

The CMs were actually encouraging people to just have one person stay to wait, while the others came back later. If everyone stayed, there would have been 3 or 4 times as many people in line. That area was extremely crowded already, and it would have been virtually impossible to even move with that many people around.

The kids and I came back around 12:45pm, and got in line with my husband. The princesses were on their hourly break, and true to the CMs prediction, we were the first in line for the 1pm meet.

For anyone who would be angry about us coming into the front of the line at the last minute...well, my kids were the ones meeting the princesses, not my husband and I, so if you really wanted the people who were meeting the princesses in line, you would have been MORE than welcome to wait in line with my children (and everyone else's who did the same) for 2+ hours. Then you can let me know if you still feel the same way! :rotfl:

Our meet was very nice, not rushed at all. I thought Anna was spot on, and Elsa was good too. A CM actually told my husband that they were currently the ONLY Anna and Elsa, and so they were doing every single meet and greet, while more princesses were being trained to hopefully start meeting soon. When we watched the Christmas parade on TV, it was the same princesses we had met.

Disney is really going to have to figure out what to do about the location of this meet if it's still crazy popular by summer time. The line placement really makes the area very congested, even in a low crowd period, like when we went. Plus, it's entirely outside with no shade. It got pretty darn hot in that line, with the sun shining directly on us, even when the temperature was only in the lower 70s. It's going to actually be dangerous in mid-day summertime temperatures.

Are there pictures posted anywhere of from a m&g that anyone could direct me to? I'm quite curious to see!

Has there been any official announcement of them being extended beyond their current run that was through Jan 6th or so?

I see many mention hoping there are not long waits in February so either those folks are wrong and they won't be there or they've been extended and I missed it (which is very possible).
