Anna and Elsa five hour wait!

Has there been any official announcement of them being extended beyond their current run that was through Jan 6th or so? I see many mention hoping there are not long waits in February so either those folks are wrong and they won't be there or they've been extended and I missed it (which is very possible).

On the Disney Audition website, they have look-alike auditions for Anna/Elsa scheduled for January 9th. A definite sign that they will be there in the future!:)

A sign but no official word, right?

I hope they stay just trying to figure out what's in the plans

You have no reason to be angry when you weren't paying attention to the rules of the line. Everyone has just a place holder there. The CM keeps count on a ticker of how many in each party so they have the correct head count for each session. Being the only person unaware of what is going on doesn't make anyone else at fault.

ITA. There are several M&Gs with this set up. I also think it's in the collective best interest of all guests for children not to be forced to wait the entire time. I can't imagine how many bored kids and meltdowns would be happening if all kids were required to stand there the entire time.

So did you get in line?

No, we didn't didn't get in line. I just asked someone in line which m&g time they were lined up for. We saw them last night! We managed to get in line right after the 5:00 candlelight processional (about 6:00) and saw them at 8:15. They were so much fun! We had a couple of great families in line with us which helped. We actually played games with them while in line...it was actually fun and really helped to pass time.

Are there pictures posted anywhere of from a m&g that anyone could direct me to? I'm quite curious to see!

From Dec 7. DS was not a fan. It's in what was the first store as you enter the pavillon after the bakery. Then you exit into the perfume area

We waited about 2 hours and DH and I took turns (our DS was asleep in the stroller most of the time) most parents were doing the same. No issues.

It was 2-3 hours whenever we saw it last week. DDs were both sad...they got Elsa and Anna dresses for Christmas but there's no way we are waiting that long. Hopefully it will be shorter in sept.

A CM actually told my husband that they were currently the ONLY Anna and Elsa, and so they were doing every single meet and greet, while more princesses were being trained to hopefully start meeting soon.

That must be an exhausting schedule for them being the only ones. I wonder why Disney didn't train more initially. Even if the movie hadn't done really well, it seems like demand still would have been fairly high in the beginning after its release.

Interesting the cast member told your husband that- I thought Disney always acted that these were the -actual- princesses?

I know. Every picture I've seen of them from WDW so far has definitely been the same princesses. I feel bad for them, that's just a grueling schedule, especially over the holidays! I can't imagine smiling and being perfect and happy for hours on end, every single day for weeks, while dealing with all sorts of people, at least some of whom must be demanding/rude/cranky/difficult in some way, especially after waiting in line for hours.

I wonder what Disney would have done if one of them had gotten sick, particularly for the Christmas parade taping or Thanksgiving or Christmas. Seems like the princesses must be hugely at risk for catching something, with all the different people they interact with, hugging/kissing kids, etc. It's not like they have a chance to use hand sanitizer or anything in between families!

As for the CMs, my husband has some weird thing about him where people tend to tell him all sorts of things when they're talking to him, even stuff they're not supposed to. It happens all the time at home, and it happened with a bunch of cast members at WDW too.

To be honest, I didn't think they looked as great as I expected. Elsa looked like Elsa, but Anna looked not quite right, and my kids agreed. When that happens, it does take away some of the magic. Usually the face characters are so spot on, my husband and I have joked that Disney pays for plastic surgery for them to look like their characters.

Not that that is any consolation, but from my view, I would have been annoyed to wait two hours to find that Anna didn't look like Anna and we only got a picture, with no interaction.

VP

I thought that about Elsa when I seen their pics on Disney's site. In the pic I thought Anna was a perfact match.

Well of course - it's Anna and Elsa doing the meet and greets, they have to be at everyone! :thumbsup2

But a look at photos - including the ones I'm linking below - shows that sometimes the fresh air and frozen wind alters their faces in the slightest ways. ;)

They've been extended in their current location until the end of January. Beyond that is unknown.

Awesome pics! It was such a highlight of our trip and I only took one pic of my girls with them. If I sent my email address to you, would you mind sharing the ones of Anna and Elsa by themselves & the one with each other? It would really help my scrapbook page. Just let me know, thanks!!!!

So I'm curious, has anyone gotten a picture of this massive five hour queue? I'd love to see where they're putting all of these bodies!

I'm sure it's smaller than one would expect since they are encouraging parties to leave one in line and send the others off to do something else.

Well, I'm looking at my pics and see our duo is different so your pics won't work anyways. I'll check my photopass again and see what they captured. Thanks or sharing!

The que actually looks short, but it is deceiving. There are 2-3 lines that que right in front of princess plass. Then they have started a new que that wraps around the church all the way back to the bathroom area and sometimes flows back out toward the main walkway for World Showcase. To look at the initial que you wouldn't think it would take 2-3 hours. When we finally got in line last night, we got in the original que in front of princess plass. We waited for 2 hours and 15 minutes in that que line.

I meet them the week their movie had just came out, I waited in line for way too long and gave up just as they were opening the door, mainly because I thought the little kids behind and in front of me were more deserving. I kinda spent the rest of the day kinda down because I didn't get to meet them.

Honestly, I think the Norway pavilion is the worst place to put them, the cast members running the place seem to be new to this, considering Norway hasn't had an meet and greet spot outside of the Akershus Restaurant's Princess meals.

If they had put them somewhere in the Magic Kingdom like in the space where the princesses were in the Town Square Theater (which they were rumored to be placed for awhile), they would be more experienced and they would try to make the wait time a little more enjoyable.

Of course you can always wait a couple years and try to meet them, but I tried to do the same thing with Merida and it wasn't going to happen on my last trip.

As pp's have said, there are more than one friend of Anna and more than one friend of Elsa's kicking around WDW, I believe I've seen around 5 or so friends for each of the girls. With the auditions happening so soon I'm guessing that number will jump. I'm also guessing (and that's all it is) that they will be available past Jan to meet as the audition posting says "looking to hire within the next 6 months"

And for those curious, here are some of our pictures from that day!

The meet and greet was well worth the wait for us. Anna was super spunky and perfect personality and Elsa was just hands down perfect. I'd been a little worried, as always, with a long wait, and new characters, but they were amazing, super friendly and interactive and just made the day!

We were there last week (Christmas) and the waits were anywhere from 2-5hrs. Needless to say, I was thrilled when my 6yr old told me she didn't need to see them, so we took photos of her in her Elsa dress around the Norway Pavillion church where the Frozen artifacts are and outside Prinsesse Plass. Hoping that Anna and Elsa will be there next time we visit but am thankful that we didn't have to wait for hours! There was a very angry man who had been waiting three hours who would not even move a few inches to one side for a minute for us to take a photo outside the meet and greet area...boy he was soo angry that I thought he would have a stroke! So we hastily left Norway and enjoyed the rest of the day at Epcot!
