Anna and Elsa five hour wait!

I was in Norway on Boxing Day, hoping to see Anna and Elsa, and the wait was about 4 hours long. Luckily, an employee in the gift shop told me that they would be walking through the gift shop to get to their meet and greet area, which is behind a velvet curtain in the shop. I am a huge Frozen fan, so I was curious to see what they looked like. They were smuggled quickly through the shop by handlers, and yes, security! I did get to see them through the curtain (people exit through it after the greet), and they were both awesome! Anna looked exactly like the character in the movie, and she was quite tall (maybe 5'6 or 7), and Elsa was beautiful too. Their interactions with the kids were fantastic, and if I had younger kids, I would probably wait to meet them. No Olaf dolls, they sold out quickly after the movie opened, and the only pin I saw was part of the Frozen set. Oh well, maybe next year?

I made an 8:20 rez at Askershaus (I always spell that wrong) to get in line early. What I didn't realize was that the first meet and greet was at 11! I really wish they would add at least one earlier one since everyone is lined up already. Would it be so hard to do a 10:00? But skipping it is not an option. When we surprised the girls with the trip, my 5 year old said "YES! I can meet Anna and Elsa!" It will definitely be a highlight for her. I NEVER wait in lines over 30 minutes but will have to for this one. Guess DH will have the luxury of getting a good spot for TT while we wait in line.

If you eat at 9:30 the ones finishing up at 9 would all be in line ahead of you. :confused3

Can people without an ADR get back there when the park opens, even if the WS isn't open yet?

I'd like to see where the meet and greet is, and where the queue area begins.

If the meet and greet area is outdoors, another good option is to head to EPCOT I'm a torrential downpour. I'm really not kidding. The line will disappear and the princesses will head indoors. Don your poncho and grab an Aquavit. If there is even a 15 minute break in the rain they will bring them back out, and only you and maybe 3 other people will be there, soaked, but pleased.

This is how we met Merida, with no wait.

M&G is indoors, entire line is outdoors.

OP here. We thought today's bad weather would play in our favor, but it didn't, even with people standing outside in a torrential downpour.

We are actually in the last line of the night. We've been in line for two hours so far and are waiting for them to come back from a break. We are five family's back in the line. We had planned to be in a long line to see them today. I'm just glad we won't have to come back tomorrow since we had planned it for today. Cast members are suggesting getting here at park opening and coming straight to Norway to get in line, which was our plan for tomorrow if we didn't make the line tonight. If I can figure out how to post a picture from my iPad I will!!

We were there Dec 8th and waited 1 1/2 hrs for our DG to see them. I thought that was long, no way would I wait much longer than that.

Help dad out here. Would an 8:00 ADR at akershus help out at all?

If you are there on a Tuesday, you may benefit from the Akershus ADR as the first set is at 9:00. Any other day the first set is at 11:00.

We check out on a Tuesday but fly out late. So I should book 8:00?

Make sure you check in for the breakfast as early as they will let you. That way you'll have a. Better chance of being done with breakfast by 9. You'll benefit from already being in Norway, while the rest of the crowds will be trekking back from Future World.

It will be a quick service breakfast. Basically I'm paying for a breakfast to get to anna and elsa with no line. We are eating there twice now

So, if WS doesn't open until 11:00, where are people lining up at 9:00? (I'm talking about the ones who don't have any sort of ADR).

Sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread...

We easily waited that long to meet Jack and Sally for MNSSHP. It was worth every second to me. You can't put a price on meeting a character you fall in love with.

True. I remember the first time I saw Jiminy Cricket, a long time favorite, in MK. I was an adult, but I rushed to the line like a little kid. My brother says he was half-way through the sentence, "We aren't going to let the kids wait in that line, are we?...." when he saw that I was already on line. He answered himself with, "Oh, I guess so..."

I had been leading our whole group around all week, avoiding lines, fast passing here, fast passing there...but one glimpse of Jiminy and all bets were off :)

I do think the line was probably 15 minutes, not 5 hours, but I remember the excitement of seeing a favorite!

OP here again!! Well we finally got it! They were SO much fun and so personable! Luckily we had some fun people in line with us, too. So that made the wait more enjoyable.

Hope the picture link works!!

When in line at Norway, it's hard to get a glimpse of the pair so if there were more personnel, the meet and greet could be more continuous. I believe they are fairy-height characters which may be why there is a shortage.

Elsa & Anna are both in the 5'3'' to 5'7 range, same as the rest of the princesses. I think the casting, specifically for Elsa is just a little different than the facial features of the other princesess

Didn't read the whole thread, so sorry if this was mentioned. Last week (Dec 20 and 21), they were out walking in front of the Princess Fairytale Hall, and generally being ignored by most people. You could have walked right up to them, they weren't in a "line" or anything. I guess people didn't realize who they were since they weren't in Norway.

I don't care if George Clooney was at the end of the line giving out kisses. No way would I wait that long for anyone.

We saw them at Disneyland. They repurposed the Tangled and it is now the Frozen area.

Massive line as well. I peeked in and they were doing the standard Love & Shove.

No character is worth a 5 hour wait. Holy crap!

I dislike some of those long lines myself they make me believe they are ride lines. I am sorry to hear about your experience. Thanks for the warning. I'll wait for their popularity to go down a bit.
