Anna and Elsa five hour wait!

Not if you make a 9:30 reservation, take one hour to eat, and then hang around the Norway pavilion for only 30 minutes.

To meet Rapunzel people were making Crystal Palace reservations, not to eat there, but in order to get into the park early to be one of the first hour of groups to meet her. Same strategy, essentially.

If you eat at 9:30 the ones finishing up at 9 would all be in line ahead of you. :confused3

Can people without an ADR get back there when the park opens, even if the WS isn't open yet?

Evidently they can because the OP was planning to line up at 10.

Then I bet they are experiencing their own version of a rope drop stampede every day. It would stink to have the park open at 8 if the first set was still at 11. All that does for that attraction is just extend the wait out by an hour.

I'd still be looking for an ADR for the child and at least one other person though so you could eat fast and be in line before park open.

If I had had the chance, I would have camped out for 2 days (with my mom) to meet Paul McCartney back in the 60s. ::yes::

5 hours is unbelievable :scared1: but I sort of get it...

Definitely not a bad idea to do the ADR, then you are at least at the front of the line. But, yeah, you still have to wait 2 hours.

Just curious. When demand became problematic with Rapunzel and Flynn they reduced the meeting to just Rapunzel so they could add more appearances.

I would think a duo would have a limited life span as the cost is double that of a single character meeting. Which one do people care about meeting more..... Anna or Elsa? Or maybe they'd just switch them off if they went that direction?

At this point with the way they're holding auditions, I'm assuming that they're planning on keeping them both out, and adding in another location, or another "door" kind of thing. I wouldn't want to think of the uproar if they removed one of the girls! I could see them maybe switching off, but hopefully it wouldn't be roulette!

Does the meet they have now run every hour? As in, same "friends" of the pair all day, and only one set of "friends" or could they maybe just be planning to have the sets run every half hour, with sets of friends switching off?

Yes, only one pair of friends - that's why the waits are soooo long. Looks like 40 minutes onstage with a 20 minute break before they return.

The WS is open before 11 just not shops, etc. France is open for food I know for sure for breakfast...don't think they do that silly WS rope drop anymore but I could be wrong.

I really liked that the physical layout of the meet and greet at DLR allowed the characters to appear nearly continuously all day.

When in line at Norway, it's hard to get a glimpse of the pair so if there were more personnel, the meet and greet could be more continuous. I believe they are fairy-height characters which may be why there is a shortage.

Okay, I admit I've waited all day for front row seats to a concert. :) But I wasn't sacrificing limited time at a theme park for a brief interaction. :confused3 Our favorite character memories are the unexpected "real" moments, like Snow White sitting down with DD next to the Epcot well and talking to her. :goodvibes

We were there the week after Thanksgiving and waited about 40 minutes. Great interaction and photos! Thought the characters were spot on. DD was delighted! We got to the park for rope drop, got Soarin' FPs and tgen had breakfast before lining up. So, I'd credit a lot of the wait to how insane the parks are right now plus the increase in interest in the film.

We were there when the movie came out. The lines were much shorter. Sorry, I do not remember the exact time.

I would not have expected to be able to move my CP meal on the day of the meal, during the busiest week of the year.

Disney is holding auditions for Anna and Elsa look-alikes in a couple of weeks - they are definitely staying!:)

Kennythepirate's website shows the first set for Anna and Elsa is at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesdays only. The rest of the week the first set is at 11:00.

now that is valuable intel !! We're spoiled as we're used to going during 'low' season and always being at RD so we can "move it" to meet Rapunzel, Merida etc with little to no wait. We met Anna and Elsa (pre movie) and waited less than an hour. If they're still meeting at 9 am on Tuesdays later in January that will become our new plan!

I know a young lady who is friends with quite a few characters due to shortages for specific ones. Since Anna and Elsa also seem to be of those requirements, it would not be surprising if they had to use the same 2 friends due to lack of people.

Will people/kids really wait 2 hours to meet characters? Wow!

I don't think I would wait that long to see anyone. Or ride any ride, or get a Black Friday deal, for that matter. I must be missing that particular DNA. My kids don't have it either.
