The kids both have their fall schedules. Amy is happy that she got in vocal music and band with some friends. Another friend is in her Social Studies class. David got to the school fairly dry, so hopefully his picture will be okay. He was pretty happy with his classes. I don't know yet if he has any with friends, because he went directly to band camp. Neither of the kids know their core class teachers. That makes the first day exciting!
Those of you who have been in band - please reassure me. We have a new flag corp this year. Granted they've only been practing 3 days, but will they ever learn to stay together? They look horrible! They seem to spend as much time dropping flags as they do doing their routine. Yikes. David and I sat in the car and chuckled about it.
I ran out this afternoon to do a little shopping. I found some cool stickers and paper for my scrapbook. I also picked up a purple pair of capris on sale. I have no clue what shirt I'll wear with them, but they looked cheerful. Maybe I'll have to go shopping again for the top? It was good to get away for a while.
I had a brief email from my cousin early this morning. She's going to email me later today with more info. The main thing is they are estimating 8 months to a year (two years if there is a miracle). I don't think he'll last that long. But he's in good spirits and laughing. I think they are all doing okay, considering.
Amy has gone to the Cowboy Hall of Fame with a friend. Actually, I think they call it the Western Heritage Museum or something, but old habits die hard.

I'm getting a little down time. In an hour, I have to go pick up David. His car quit at lunch while he was parked at the Sonic. He and DH are going to check out the battery after work.
We're picking up pizza for dinner! I'm celebrating.

I love it when I don't have to cook and clean up.
Star, I like the snowboarding picture. I've never tried that and with my knee and ankle I probably never will. I do like to ski. I just haven't done it for a long time. I usually go to Colorado in the summer for the cool summer days.
Alan, I'll have to tell you about my first time skiing. It involves getting off the lift, diving into a snowbank and sitting on the back of my skiis.

I couldn't fall. The snow was packed all around me and WAY over my head. I couldn't seem to stand up. I was just stuck. DH had headed on down the mountain without me. I might still be there if some sweet man hadn't heard my pitiful call and come to my rescue. Yet another example of why I should have been named Grace. I think beginners should wear flags on their heads for just this reason. If you fall into a bank, right side up, they could find you. LOL!
Marsha, love the photo. He's a handsome fellow. Bet you enjoyed your visit.
