Gee Brian, how did you know ;)

LOL, Merry, yep you pegged it, if they moved to Puerto Rico to be with their family, I'd go to DC in a heart beat :p

Lou... actually if we didn't have a cookout this weekend I would have love to have done that ;)

Chocolate Mousse & Illuminations sounds like heaven!

I was just there, the Rockies, Golden - Home of Coors Beer, and Invesco Stadium at Mile High. We did not do the tour this time. Great weekend. And while he is a ton older than the other kids on the thread, here is my boy -

MP, sorry to read the sad news.

Carol, The Hecht company will alter the waist of all pants. Even jeans. I think it's about 10 dollars. ThHey carry jeans in size 28. They also carry smaller sizes of some name brands (Hilfigger, Nautica, Polo, etc) Not cheap tho. I had the same problem with Ian.

Shades of the 70s, silk shirts.

:wave2: Hi Marsha!! Love the pic of your boy!!! How old is he? (yes, I've totally forgotten)

E! How could you forget??? He will be 27 in 13 days. Remember, he and Luis graduated HS the same year. (I am so NOT old!) BTW, the show was great, of course the Cavies took 1st, but it was close. I flew from DEN to CVG with 1/2 of Beatrix, a Corps from the Netherlands, they were a lot of fun. Next year finals are in RI and MA. I am not missing that, too close to home!

HI Marsha. Handsome son there.

Someone here told me to try Old Navy. I think I will try that before the alteration route. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I would love to see Drum Corp sometime. They have a big show is Allentown I should try to get to.

Off to bed for me.

Oh dear Marsha, I had forgotten. I knew he was a bit younger than me, but somehow I was thinking a tad more. And honestly he and I would have the same graduation year as well then... Luis may be younger than me, but he's the same "grade" as I was. Your boy is just about 3 weeks older than Luis...

boy do I feel like a baby :o

And I am so jealous of all this DCI talk... last competition I went to was in 1995

Got you beat.....my last DCI competition (I was a spectator) was in 1982!!!!!!

Hi Gail! Providence for the small corps and Gillette Stadium for the big boys.

E!, I am NOT old enough to be my son's mother, how did that happen?

Carol, thanks for saying that. I will pass the word onto him when he comes up in September.

That's great. Which corps are touring these days? My old favorites were the Phantom Regiment.

BTW Marsha. Not sure I ever told you. I found the mat for the kindergarten through high school school pictures at Michaels. I put it together for Sarah's graduation party and it turned out really nicely. I bought 2 so I would be ready to do Andrew's.

Marsha, you most certainly don't look it!!!!

Luis just came up (finally) going to bed. Very sleepy... 'nite all :wave2:

What a great night for t.v. watching! BB and AI in one night!

Lou - how did you know I would like to tour the Coors Brewery?:hyper: I toured the one in Memphis - love the free beer at the end - I was in heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!

MP - more prayers sent out to your uncle.

I hope Sandi's mom is doing better.

Gail, go to www.dci.org for all the news. Phantom placed in the top 12 and I think they ended up in 5th. I think the only one not marching is Star of Indiana. All the regulars are still out there. The Spartans from Nashua NH took 1st in Division 2, we did not see them though. They do the smaller corps finals during semis for Division I. I hadn't been since 1994, there was a HS Competition and show in Jonesboro GA with a Division 2 Corps marching, but I don't remember who it was. THe Marine Corps D&B Coprs did their show, they played music from POTC, so I was really liking that!

Carol, I am glad you found the mats. I have been finding boxes and boxes of pictures, I need to get them in some order. I never was good at keeping all that kind of stuff in anything except a box. Oh well. I have lots of time to do it now.

Think I will try to get some sleep too. Pete is in San Diego this week. That means no sleeping well for me. At least we have TV in the bedroom now.

mmmmmmmm Eagle Vail my home away from home, I miss it lots thanks Lou!! I won't be back until November or December so this is fun to reminisce!!

Here is a pic of me last December all layered up (cuz I'm a wimp in the snow) boarding on some of the most glorious powdah these feet have had the pleasure to surf. (Beaver Creek)

We had a DC competition here in Broken Arrow a few weeks ago, didn't have a chance to go but the rest of my family enjoyed it very much.

Btw great pic Marsha

I remember someone asking how tall everyone one was so I thought I'd chime in...5'8 and a HALF

SB couldn't agree more great night for TV felt sorry for the brothers tho :(

MP I’m so very sorry to hear about your uncle still praying cuz it can never hurt.

We had a glorious day @ Shangri-la, Grand Lake.....The weather was perfect, we had almost the whole lake to ourselves and they don't call it "grand" for nothing!! It's huge and we would go for long periods of time without seeing any other boats or seadoos.

I'm actually a little red from the day which is unsusual for me, G had a blast and said we were the best parents in the world....I swear someday I'm going to make him write that down lol

We meet the teacher tomorrow around 2 then at 3:30 I see the guru then haircuts and get ready for the first day of school. This summer went by so fast, seems like it was just yesterday we were all counting down the end of school.

welp I guess that is all of my news....mom isn't sure if she will pursue another job right away there will most likely be severance so she has some time. I'll keep ya posted!

I took some pics today but I'm too lazy to download, and upload tonight if there are any good ones I'll share tomorrow.

laterz
