Signing off for the night. Luis is in the shower and as soon as he is out I am sure he will want to go to bed. He apparently stayed up all night with friends talking and drinking to make sure he didn't miss his flight home (at 6 am). I hope I'll be as good in a few weeks, when I take the red eye home from LA (flight leaves at 11 PM and arrives at about 9 am here). Anywho, he bought a new camera while he was out there. Kind of tweaked me that he did that. Then he had me bring it in to show it off to my family and didn't tell me (just said go to the front seat and bring in what's there) before hand. I had no idea he was even seriously thinking of buying it. Tweaked me more with that... so that's what's kind of bugging me. I have a few things I need to sleep on...

I had a really good time in Rockport with one MAJOR disappointment ........ I didn't get to meet Lars !!!!!!!
I left her a couple of phone messages and left a message at the hotel for her today before I left ........I was at a parade last night and when it was over I noticed my cell said "No service" so I don't know if I missed anything during that time I was in cell hell .....(can I say that?) SO close and yet so far ...........Steph please have a corona for me when you see her later on in the week and let her know how sorry I am we missed each other!!
Saw quite a few whales on the whale watch ..... when on a sunset cruise on a sailboat ... it actually was a sunset "sit" for awhile because there wasn't much wind - but it picked up in the last half hour.... also found a beautiful little state park that bordered on the ocean ......spent quite a bit of time enjoying the scenic overlook......

It takes a looooong time to read what you've missed when you're gone for a few days.... no way I could do a proper catch up !

Sandi - what a time to have the a/c off. these last couple of days have been so hot.

DH and 3 of the neighbor guys got a lot of the pool together today. We put some water in to stretch out the liner. Hopefully tomorrow he will finish the rest and just have to connect the filter. Then the last, but most important, step is to get the gas line together for the heater!

Good evening.

We made it too the ocean beach today. It was beautiful. Just DH and I (and a zillion other people.) Only a 2 hour drive so we packed a picnic and stayed about 4 hours then stopped for dinner on the way home.

Sandy, sorry you missed Lars.

Some tragic news here. A local boy was driving on his learners permit and had a terrible accident in which his mom was killed. Story here The teenager was in scouts with Andrew and we knew the dad. A very nice family and so sad. This happened less than a mile from our house. The dad in the story is the step-dad. I hope he gets to keep the boys and they don't have to go back to the biological dad. Prayers please for everyone involved.

Enough of a downer. Sorry. I think I am off to bed too.

haven't been about much as it's been very busy here and still no broadband (fingers crossed for tomorrow!)

I have sad news......my hubbies great aunt (who he lived with most of his life) died during the night. Thankfully we went down to the hospital to see her last night (she only went in yesterday) and had also saw her over the weekend......this is going to be very hard on my hubbie

Weatherman vent! Why do we listen to them? They were calling for intermittent showers yesterday, so DH put off staining the deck. If we got two drops of rain the whole day we were lucky.

My peace and quiet over the past few days is ending today. The kids are coming back today with my IL's from the cottage. I've missed them, but not the fighting!

BB & Andy arrived last night. Her BF's Wedding is on Friday, she is the Matron of Honor.

Not sure how long the AC will be down for. It depends on how fast they get all this work done out back I guess before they can re-install it.

So sorry to hear about the deaths reported.

Also sorry to hear some of you have no A/C! Ours has been on for months.

I had the day off yesterday and got some yard work in. The grass is thick enough that by the time the dew is dried, it is already in the 90's.

Too bad I didn't have anything Dan wanted or I could have gotten him to bring me a cool refreshing beverage!

Woke up to a fuzzy cat poking me on my head... good thing they are so cute. I just have a hard time sleeping in like this (especially when there are things I would rather be doing at work)

Pool party at Lorraine's!!

I knew I was helping out with some job interviews this week but didn't realize there were 20 scheduled for the month.

I have 3 to do today and we have to document responses to each of the "pre-approved" questions we can ask.

Due to a lawsuit, there are very specific actions we must do for each interview to the point where they are a joke.

Too bad I forgot about this..I'm wearing a polo shirt today instead of the normal shirt and tie. Specifically, a dark green shirt with khaki fronds that people tease me about appearing to be another plant.

Not that I have any idea what they are talking about.....

Looks like I am going to be here all day....My car is in the shop so that means I am stranded. But at least I have running water in the kitchen again

My car has an oil leak that we have been trying to fix for a while now. The last time they fixed it it was fine for a few months then the leak came back. I just want this thing to make it through the winter and we are buying me a new car next spring...if things go as planned I am getting a VW Beetle. Anyway, the car will be ready either late today or early tomorrow to the tune of about $250.

The weather doesnt look like it is going to be warm enough to go to the pool, so Sam and I will be stuck here all day. If I get adventerous we can walk to the local hot dog place for lunch.
