Angels Around The World..Glendale,AZ..Nice Place To Visit/Wouldn't Want To Lose There Part 2

It's been a very busy week for me - phew! I've been working overtime since work has also been swamped, we're actually opening an hour earlier than normal. Once I get out there's been something to do each night. Added to that, both kids have had minor stomach bugs.

This week has also been a sad one. A long-time friend of my mom's died. Both ladies were in their 80's and had been friends for more than 50 years. Today is also the anniversary of my dad's death - some 37 years ago. I'm feeling sad for my mom this week, but she seems to be doing well.

Thanks for asking my friends, hope to be able to post...and riddle...more often very soon.

BTW - I get to see Clay before you do E!!! Our show is August 3.
:D

E!~Happy Birthday to your Dad!

Carol~Have fun at the fair

MP~Go ahead and enter something......if you've always wanted to.....just go for it!

Gail~ I hope that things at work ease up on you.
 for your Mom on the loos of her friend
:grouphug: for both of you on the anniversary of your father's death

SB~Don't let anyone give you any grief about not camping with those Cranberry-Crazies.......friendship & sisterhood only go so far & sleeping in a barn is waaaay too far!::yes::

Gail, I'm so sorry. And to lose her so close to the anniversary of your dad's death is hard. My mom has a friend like that, too. They talk long distance on the phone every day. It's like they are sisters. Hope the tummy bug is gone from your household.

Our county fair is in the early fall. I ought to check to see when it begins. Maybe this is the year I'll enter. :teeth:

Mom is talking about heading to Kansas City for my uncle's surgery (that we suspect he will have in the near future). My kids are thinking of going with her. Just waiting to see what the schedule is before we make plans.

Allen and I are trying to decide when to go back to Branson. We're looking at a long weekend in early October and a weekend in November around Thanksgiving time. That would allow us to do the craft/music festival and the Christmas festival. It's hard to work around OU's football games and David's football games (since he's in the marching band).

Guess I'll sign off and head for my bed. I think I'll sleep like a baby tonight. :wave2:

Clay says, ":bday: E! Dad!"

Good morning all! Thanks for the wishes for my dad. I'll be trying to call him in an hour or so when he should be getting into work.

Gail :grouphug: to you and your mom. I am so sorry you all are going through all that.

Although, Gail, that wasn't very nice to rub it in that you get to see Clay 8 days before I do ;) Thank goodness I get to see Josh Groban in between then :p

Yep, crazy concert goer gets to see her two favorites less than a week apart :hyper:
Of course when I start adding up how much I've spent this year on concerts I wonder if I've lost my mind

Merry, have fun planning that trip. I hope you slept well last night. I was up half the night myself... getting to excited for my trip I guess :p

Hi Lou & Lars!

Good morning everyone.

Nice pictures Laura.

:grouphug: Gail, and to your Mom too.

The Cecil County Fair is held before the Sate Fair at the end of August so that the 4H winners can compete at the State level. At least I think that is the way it is. I have never been involved in 4H.

The Marching Band has the contract to supply the workers to run the gates at the fair. This is our biggest fund-raiser. We have to have kids and adults at both the front and back gates whenever admission is being charged. I have been involved as the chair or co-chair of this event for the past 4 years. This is going to be my last. (Keep repeating that over and over.) It is fun but a lot of work and aggravation. I took unpaid vacation time from work so I could do it.

:wave2:

Oh does this mean I can pass my "dirty girl" title onto Lars now? :teeth:

Love the pics Lars :)

Carol, I think I remember you talking about the Fair last year as well. I hope all goes well for y'all there this year :)

yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhno
that title is yours to keep......I cleaned my aisle up:D

thanks Lou:love2:

That's great that the band has that contract, to help them raise money. As far as I know, the only money our band has coming in is the NIMPA club that people in our town join. Part of that goes to the band program in the city and the rest goes to the school of the donor's choice. We don't pay to attend our county fair. In fact, there are no gates. You just pay for food and to ride rides.

Great pics Lars. Your kids are growing up!

E, I slept like a log. I didn't even hear Allen's alarm go off this morning!

Guess I'll pop over to see if I know the riddle today.

Hey, I cleaned up and I still got labeled...

what a cruel world this is
:duck:

Merry, so glad you got a good nights sleep in. If I don't get one tonight, I am more or less out of luck until next Friday night :p

I spoke with LK & Donna a little while ago so stay tuned later tonight for "highlights" of the camping trip loubon style....;)

(Funny thing is that the material is so good I don't even have to make things up!) :p

Morning Everyone!

Lou - I spoke to the happy campers too! They are in a wonderful downpour w/ thunder & lightening right now. LK had ants in her breakfast :crazy2: , Donna had her coffee:crazy: , and the kids are enjoying playing cards. Yep, I think I made the right decision!::yes::

Gail - so sorry to hear about your mom's friend.

E - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DAD!!!!
I wish I were going to both of those concerts w/ you!

MP - one of our co-workers was giving away free Hillary Duff tkts for her concert next week. I think I'm gonna have to go w/ the kids.

Carol - enjoy the fair! Just say NO to more volunteer work!

Lars - more great pictures of your family!

Terrible night here yesterday. Brendan and a neighbor were swimming when the neighbor noticed our lining coming loose. Needless to say, it didn't hold up and we have no water left in the pool.:( DH thinks there might have been an air bubble which got filled w/ water. I was so upset. The yard was just starting to come together. I hope he can fix it this weekend.

morning all....still feeling like crud here. I keep popping cold pills trying to at least be functional...its not really helping.
At least its now and not when I go to Texas, I cant imagine flying with a head cold like this.
Oh well, back to my kleenex and my comfy chair. Have a good one.

Dismal day weather wise here in loubonville.

Glad LK and Donna are calling in the highlights of their trip, will make for an evening of laughs loucap style :Pinkbounc :p

Everyone going away, enjoy!!!!

Lou - your little princess: (you know the one not changing her sheets in college) was upset that I spent time on the riddle instead of walking all the way down that big long driveway and getting the paper this morning. She had to actually do it!!!!!! The horror.......................

Lots of errands to run and a sixteen year old with a permit that wants to practice driving.........:scared1: Should be a fun day!!!!

Later and cowabunga!!!!!:wave2:
