And your oscar winners are.

You know what forget North Korea - nuke Hollywood.

Ok sarcasm. Lots of allegations which anyone can throw out. I think I was sexually assaulted by Mark Wahlberg because at a Marky Mark concert he touched my cheek. I am outraged and traumatized.

Am I the only one who was surprised the song from Coco won instead of This is Me from The Greatest Showman? Clearly the production team for the show last night knew This is Me had to be the last nominee performance.

Yes, I too, believe This is Me should have one. Then again I think I'm the only person on the planet who didn't like Coco.

Had to read the second post to get the meaning of the first. Apparently not only am I clueless about basketball (I actually asked someone I work with if Kobe had ever played with the Detroit Pistons), I've only seen Gary Oldman in one role and am aware he portrays Winston Churchill in his latest.

Sometimes it is hard to recognize Oldman as he tends to disappear into the role. Half the stuff I saw on his filmography, I really didn't remember until I looked. Kobe was always a Laker.

I've only seen one, m2r...Bram Stoker's Dracula. I didn't care for it.

He’s a “chameleon” and tends to totally dissolve into his characters- he’s unrecognizable in some of his roles. He’s probably best known as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films.

Wait that is Gary Oldman? I have heard his name and I'm pretty sure he is in a Denzel movie that I can't think of the name off hand but other than that I didn't know who he was.

Maybe the next Hollywood cause will be a #BeatToo when they all need some other cause to keep get themselves publicity.

The Generation(s) raised on the electronic device called the idiot box or the boob tube are aging out. The Millenials (Gen y) and Gen Z (no nickname yet) are not watching TV nearly as much as the boomers did when they were young adults. They will as they age according to some watch it more but I personally think that is wishful thinking. And to be honest, I'm not watching as much as I used to either. I don't need to watch an hour and a half of news that I can read in 10 minutes. I don't need to stay up to the crack of dawn watching an awards show. I'll get clips of the good stuff later and it will take me 1/3 the time.
Good point. I used to love to watch the Oscars, but I found myself bored that we were watching it live. I watch almost all other shows recorded so I had an urge to fast forward & was so annoyed that I couldn’t.

I think that is a big part of it. I’m a milllenial, and most people I know (including myself) don’t have cable. A common practice these days is to have viewing parties- so there’s the potential for a lot of uncounted people watching one stream.

WE recorded the Oscars and fast forwarded through it. Perfect way to watch it. It was still too long. I like Jimmy Kimmel and thought he did a good job. He was relaxed and funny. I admit I haven’t seen many of the movies, but I will see them eventually. I thought Jordan Peele looked so familiar, but can’t place him. I googled him but that didn’t help. What has he been in, or does he look like another actor?

I haven't seen any of the nominated films and only even heard of a few.

I'm only familiar with a few of the actors/actresses.

Couldn't care less who wins sound editing. Don't even know what that is.

My boring pathetic life is still more exciting than any movie.

(DW and I were out last night, but if we at home she would have watched. I would have wandered in a few times to make a few snarky comments.)

Are you saying they were coo coo for coco?

Cabanfrau, that one shocked me actually. This is Me has been getting tons of attention, even used at the Olympics Gala.

I saw both Shape of Water and Three Billboards, liked them both, but would never have thought them to be Best Picture worthy. Slim pickings this year I guess.
Loved Shape of Water. Did not see everyone of the ten. But loved the film. Its one of the better Oscar winners I have seen.

Was anyone forgotten during The Memorium clip?

Sexual assault jokes are hilarious!

Do you care for anything?

I'm honestly not so sure she should legitimately win all of the awards and get all of the accolades she does. I am convinced she is in fact a chameleon.

I'm sure I am unfamiliar with most of her roles. As for the ones I do know, she does an incredible job completely disappearing altogether into each role.

She did an amazing job in "I, Tonya". Total opposite from C.J. Cregg
