Wai-ting - a period of waiting; pause, interval, or delay.

In order to wait effeciently one must learn the art of,

Pa·tience - 1. the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.
2. an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay: to have patience with a slow learner.
3. quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence: to work with patience

But i'm currently getting,

ants·y - 1. unable to sit or stand still; fidgety: The children were bored and antsy.

I WANT TO GO TO DISNEYWORLD NOW! :lmao:

Okay now that that is out of my system i shall continue my PTR, I rewrote my PTR completly well because i wrote it orignally at 2am in the morning after a long day at work and drugged up on cold meds .

Cast of Characters:

About Me:
Age - 23
Currently i work part time for a courier company and for once in months am not working 2 jobs. I love disney, disney movies (classics), pooh bear, and everything about it. I love the :wizard: of it all.
My favorite movie as a child was snow white and currently i'm in love with pooh bear, he's a silly ole bear. I never went on a single roller coaster till last year at disneyland and i went on screaming and LOVED IT! So i'm looking forward to going on all the rides.
I'm most looking forward to the FOOD and Rides and hopefully parades (didnt get to really see any at disneyland)

About DBF:
Age - 28
He got a new job lately which entails travelling around north america hence why he is currently in New Jersey.
He loves Hannah montana :rotfl: sometimes he starts singing "It's the best of both worlds" randomnly. He says he watches the family channel only because of the fact there are no commercials.
On the other side he's oblivious to the other disney characters, he can't tell one princess from the other and never gets their stories right! :headache:
He likes the thrill rides, good food (not the greasy hamburger kind of man, he's a salad eating, veggie advocating, grilled chicken over wild rice kind of man)

How the trip came to be:
I whined, pouted, sulked, demanded, and when all else fails i told him in a sad/cute voice while sick in my bed that all i ever wanted to do was go to disneyworld. :upsidedow Yup i played THAT card. Well my DBF isn't that easy, but he knows i really wanted to go and we finally decided that Jan 2009 would be a good time because we know Jan is low crowd levels and not too hot.

The plan is tentatively for 10 days at the world, split in 2 with a 3 day universal trip as a buffer. The dates are not set in stone, but DBF did call me today and say that he wanted to talk about our trip over dinner when he gets back in 3 weeks. :thumbsup2

I'm Essentially in charge of all the planning, hence why i stay up all night reading the dis :surfweb: and then wake up in the morning early to surf the dis :surfweb: and then i eat all my meals in front of the computer.

I'm basically just waiting for:
1) The dates of travel
2) Decision of: Hotels, (for the life of me i cannot remember what it's called when your travelling by plane. Air travel planning? Airfare?) Car rental? DDP or DDxP? and..ALL.....THAT...JAAAAZZZZZ!
3) DBF to come home, i'm beginning to miss that bugger!

Thanks to the Disney Dining Reviews Thread,
I have concluded that my salivary glands are well in tact and work great
for producing copius amounts of saliva.
And that after all those pictures of bacon, sausages and tonga toast i had such a
craving, i went out at 11:15pm to my local Save on to buy Bacon and sausages.
I looked for tonga toast too but unfortunatly it was not in the bakery aisle.

I WANT to do the DDP for sure, maybe even the DDxP, cause i never know
when i'll be back, it may be *gasp* a long time.

When DBF gets back from New Jersey he wants to see everything i've planned,
so i'm going to make an excel worksheet of the restaurants i want to eat at, prices and
see if it's worth it for us.

in·de·ci·sion - –noun inability to decide

That pretty much sums up how i feel about which resort to stay at right now.

3 years ago, I wanted to go to disneyworld and basically planned where i wanted to stay,
Back then I had decided on BW and AKL, when i first brought up this trip i had the intentions
of going with the plan i had 3 years ago. But then...i saw all the pics from trip reports and
the resort board and now i'm kinda leaning towards WL, Poly, Pop, and after yesterdays pics
of rooms in Contempory that too.

I'll look into this more and maybe i'll make a decision xD IF ONLY i won the lottery, i would go to
Disneyworld for months and ... well i should snap back into reality now.

I'm debating whether or not to Rent a car for the trip, because it would be convenient to have it to drive to universal and lately i'm thinking of going to seaworld too. The only thing i have against it is me and DBF had a horrible experience renting a car once.

We rented a car from Hertz, when we picked up the car it was pretty busy and waited in line, talked the the guy and then we went out to see the vehicle. DBF checked the entire car thoroughly and found some scratches on the right side by the headlights. So he went back and talked to the guy and the guy said that he would note that, he was too busy to come out and check so with that we left.

When we returned we figured that there wouldn't be a problem with the car at all, Boy was I wrong. Apparently when DBF went to drop off the car they saw the scratches and said it was OUR fault. He told them that it was marked, but the guy had circled the WRONG part. He circled the middle not the right side. I was livid when i showed up, the guy told me that DBF had gone off with a mechanic and the manager to see if they could buff out the scratches and see how old they were. I argued with the managers for a long time and finally this was our choices:

1) If we wanted to dispute the charges they were going to continue to charge us a per day until it was solved. DBF's premiums would go up as it would be from his insurance.
2) Pay them $120 in CASH the manager was cutting us a "Deal"
3) Take them to court.

I was totally ready to take them on peoples court and make a case out of it, but DBF the passive guy he is didn't want to fight anymore so he paid them the cash.

This has COMPLETELY made me boycott hertz for the rest of my life. I will NEVER EVER use them again, because they are in my eyes bags of scum. I bet you anything that manager pocketted the cash and wrote off those scratches. Even thinking about this incident which happened 2 years ago makes me livid

Moving on though, I may look into a rental car from a different company and i have learned something from this experience. ALWAYS check to see if there is damage, and if there is drag the guy from the desk and make him look at it too. AND make sure that he CIRCLES the right part.

I think i will probably rent a car for just the 4 days we are not at disneyworld, so we can get to universal and back.

1 attractive in a pretty or endearing way: a cute kitten.

Cute report!

Hi to a fellow Canadian! Looking forward to hearing more!

Yay my first two replies ::yay:

Thank you both for the

en·cour·age·ment -
1. the act of encouraging.
2. the state of being encouraged.
3. something that encourages: Praise is the greatest encouragement.

And i'm also glad to see a fellow

Ca·nuck -
a Canadian, esp. a French Canadian.

I've realized that i have formed an

ad·dic·tion -
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

to the dis. I think about the dis when i'm at work or not at the computer, and last night I DREAMT about surfing the boards :surfweb:

I've been thinking more about other things that I would like to do:

1)La Nouba
2)Watercraft Rentals
3)Chip'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long
4)Fishing - DBF and me went prawning in singapore and I love it, maybe i'll try with some fish, but once again i'm sure it requires

Pa·tience -

1. the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.
2. an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay: to have patience with a slow learner.
3. quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence: to work with patience

5)Arcade
6)Safari at AKL

And that list is incomplete as well, I think i'll need to stay at disney for an extra 2 days! Am I allowed to do the recreations at other resorts other than my own:confused:

budg·et -
1. an estimate, often itemized, of expected income and expense for a given period in the future.
2. a plan of operations based on such an estimate.
3. an itemized allotment of funds, time, etc., for a given period.
4. the total sum of money set aside or needed for a purpose: the construction budget.

I think ultimately, this is what it all boils down too, what we can afford and how much into CC debt are we willing to go.

Currently I have nothing in the disney fund except for spare change which is mostly pennies. I probably have about $2 in there. I'm really torn about this budget thing, let me give you some background info.

1.5 years ago I barely worked at all, I worked MAYBE 15 hrs per week and did pretty much nothing for 2 months + before that I worked about 25 hrs per week. Then I had this huge spurt of motivation and I worked consistently 2 jobs, sometimes the jobs were part time and full time, sometimes two part times and at one point I had three jobs, 2 part time one full. I also volunteer2-3 times a week as well as taking piano/violin lessons. Can we say

burn·out -
Also, burn-out. fatigue, frustration, or apathy resulting from prolonged stress, overwork, or intense activity.

I basically decided about 1.5 months ago that I would stick to ONE job, which i'm currently working and try to get some studies in. Now i'm thinking of getting a second job because money is tight, I only work guaranteed 21 hours sometimes i get more. But i used to work around 65 hrs per week. I can get a second job but it'll be difficult to juggle as this job i have is 5 days per week and any hours of the day. :headache:

You may be thinking to yourself, why not just not go to disneyworld. Well the answer to that is, It's disneyworld. I have Never ever been and I really do want to go.

Budgeting Ideas for saving up for disney

1)Cut down cell phone extra's some more (with dbf gone and me becoming slightly anti social i barely use it nowadays)
2)Cut down on buying cat treats and food (I spend about $90 a month for a cat shelter i volunteer at)
3)Eat from home, no eating out (doing awesome on this since DBF is gone)
4)Do NOT feel the need to pay for things when out with friends. (i have a habit of just picking up the tab all the time)

and last of all, i will look into getting a weekend job or a part time job that will not mind my fluctuating hours. :thumbsup2 less time to dis but I will find time for that too. ^^

I will post details on how much disney is going to cost us after Aug 3rd when i can get a quote.

Today I was out bright and early to go to the doctors and shopping with my mom. (Yes i know that is very contradictory to my budget plans. xD) We had breakfast at White spot and i told my mom that i wanted to go to disneyworld next year,

Me: I'm going to go to disneyworld next year with DBF
Mom: Why don't you let your dad take you it's cheaper
Me: What?
Mom: I told your dad before that you wanted to go to disneyworld and he said okay
Me: So you want to go?
Mom: Why not? Maybe next year i'll ask your dad to take us for a few days

This was me ::eek: :scared1: and then :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay: :dance3:

This is exciting because well i might get TWO trips to disneyworld next year, of course the family trip is even more up in the air than DBF and me's trip. When my dad gets back this week from toronto i plan to harass him..um i mean..TALK yes...talk to him about this potential disney trip and all the planning involved!

Budget:

Is looking good, i think last night i got myself worked up because i was tired and stressed.

I talked to my mom and she said that she's willing to help me pay for my courses. And I totally forgot about the $200 i had in my US account. And i also forgot that i have a $1000 bonus check from work coming too! Add on top of that my next 2 GST refund checks i have about $1500 :woohoo:

There are three things I want to really focus on for the next couple of months.

1)Eat healthy
2)Exercise :yay:
3)Stick to a strict budget (gas,rent,cell phone,donations + $75 spending money)

I refuse to post a pic of myself until I lose 20lbs xD :upsidedow

Tonight i'm going to pick my top 5 hotels and compare them! :thumbsup2

Today DBF and I talked on the phone and I mentioned that Flight center had sent me an email regarding disneyland for 4 nights and 3 day park hoppers from $199*. He actually told me that if it was around that price we could go to disneyland if i wanted too.

So obviously the first thing when i got off the phone with him was call up flight center for a quote. Um the lady explained to me that the $199* was actually for a family of four, if there were only two of us, we would take that price and then divide it by four. :headache: And then she continued to add on all the extra taxes, insurance etc and gave me the grand total of 1440.00:scared1:

Apparently * = + $1241

I would like my paycheck* please :thumbsup2

I quickly hung up the phone, and decided to do some researching myself.
The cheapest 3 day park hoppers I found were for $164ea
The cheapest nearby hotel (expedia) was 3 nights for $195.94
That total in itself is around $523 something

I can get a package deal at a farther hotel for around $428 but that's without the taxes and probably surcharges.

Flight, if I can get my dad to escort us I might be able to get there for around $100 instead of the ridiculous $900+ for airfare for two of us.

Last year DBF and me went to disneyland through flight center and paid around $1682 for 4 nights and 3 day park hoppers. If i can get the whole trip for around $700 total + taxes I might be able to convice DBF to go xD Of course if i do one less night i can cut down our costs considerably as well.

Here's a randomn picture from our last trip :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see how your trip(s) work out! :thumbsup2

Thank you Lady Lallie! Welcome aboard :thumbsup2
Yay for my third poster and knowing that i'm not talking to myself! :lovestruc

Yesterday I emailed DBF and let him know the current disneyland situation and his reply was this:

"What happened to the flight centre deal? I don't know if we should go to Disneyland if we are going to Disneyworld. But if your heart is set on it then I have no problem going. I'm just not sure if September will be busy or not... Anyways, I'll try to call you sometime Saturday"

have your heart set on something-
to want something very much. She's got her heart set on dance lessons.

Or in my case Disney, I'm looking more into the Disneyland trip now because well It'll be in September  I know that's in less then a month! :yay:

Tonight when DBF calls me i'm going to try to verify the dates we are going. Then I will buy disneyland 3 day parkhoppers! with his credit card hopefully xD :wizard:

That's so exciting! I have been to WDW but not Disneyland. Hopefully someday. DH and I want to wait until they are done with all the new attractions that they are adding over the next few years.

I got to speak to DBF on msn today regarding Disneyland, his final thought on it was that he just wants to spend time with me (who he hasn't seen in over a month) and doesn't care where we go. Well in that case the house of mouse it is. ::MickeyMo

And! He gave me the Get Go to purchase the 3 day park hoppers, I've actually decided on buying 4 day park hoppers instead there's only a $30 price difference. I'm going to purchase from Arestravel tomorrow as I emailed them to confirm whether or not I can buy them if I can't give an exact travel date.

This means that no matter what I will go to disney before these tickets expire :yay:

On the downside he cannot confirm with me the exact dates we are going, he won't find out till he gets back to toronto in 2 weeks and talks to his boss.
 This feels like

dé·jà vu-
1. Psychology The illusion of having already experienced something actually being experienced for the first time.
2. An impression of having seen or experienced something before: Old-timers watched the stock-market crash with a distinct sense of déjà vu.

I also have called a former employer and talked to them about working on weekends. The pay isn't great, but the work isn't bad and I can start as early as next weekend. Also they are very flexible on giving days off etc. More money for my disney trip(s)

In a month + I can enjoy a

Aww shucks...thanks :goodvibes I'm reading through your pre trip report and I must say,
you and your husband look so happy together and you have even eyebrows to boot!
Ooh and a side point, YOU USE SPIFFY TOO! I say spiffeh all the time and piffies! xD
And I think your cats are adorable, i adore cats!

I should of probably written all that on your board, but boards with many posts intimidate me
Hence why I lurk xD:laughing:
