An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Which would have been 2 weeks if I was lucky and I wasn't feeling lucky, or like I had the luxury of time.

I have been doing my buckwheat neck pillow but it hasn't been providing much relief as I think it's skeletal at this point. I took muscle relaxants last night and they didn't do squat other than make me feel wonky before I fell asleep for the 2 hours I did get last night. Painkillers do not work on me, it's rather a drag actually.

which will come with w $50 gift card that I can use on a backordered pillow and feel good about it, almost like getting it for free.

:rotfl:

Not really.

I have been considering cleaning the darn tub and will probably get a massage in the next week.

TMI I am sure. I'll tell you one thing though. This is the kind of stuff that makes me feel old.

Speaking of "time", that start date is really sneaking up on us! April, what was it? 5th or something. Ack!! :scared1: How are you doing on your to do list before starting?

If muscle relaxants and heat aren't working, you may be right. I'm convinced mine is a rotten set of vertrbrae too. :headache: I'm anxious to get another MRI to see just what is going on. Nothing like pumping a few more rads into the ol' bod.

I like the way you've gone beyone FDM and used the same techniques in real life. :lmao:

If it's rotten vertebrae and massage will only go so far. For the actual problem. Sure feels good though, even if it won't help the root of the evil.

TMI- you know me better than that! :rotfl2:

Congrats on the W1D1!!!!!!!

You are on your way now!!!!!

Maybe you could put a picture of a whip in front of your hat to look at!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I think I'm getting this little ADR game of yours... ;)

Thanks!! any motivational tool to help..... :thumbsup2:lmao:

Yes, that's a very good idea!!! A whip! :idea:

rolling.on.the.floor.laughing.

LOVE the hat and pic, you're killing me!

Glad it went better, once you made to the track. I have got to get back to the gym. The neck has not been helping matters one iota.

Not seeing a double chin though....

Sometimes I have way too much fun. I know, my daughter tells me I"m "idiotic" a lot- that's when I know I've reached my plateau of fun-having.

I had to take 1 week and a half off from any exercise from my neck. I know how it is to want to get out, and not be able to. :hug:

The moment I saw your hat, I knew that there must be a WDW oic being used as motivation! I was just rather expecting the castle, but the entrance sign is pretty good, too! :thumbsup2 And good to hear that the second attempt was much better than the first! :banana::banana:

Well, honestly, I wanted a pic of the castle, but don't have a good one. The one I have has 4 of my 5 kiddos in it, and that wouldn't do at all. This is a LADIES' trip- not a "make the kids happy trip".

And I was too lazy to go find a good one on someone else's TR and link it here. So, the Welcome Sign works for me.

What? Tom Brady and Wes Welker don't work for you?? :confused3

:rotfl: Too funny. Another idea - have someone run in front of you and tape a picture to their back. :thumbsup2

I thought about them, and I thought about that hottie that hucifer caught on "film" in all his glorious hot-ness at the Marakesh. But, then, I was ashamed that they would be watching my belly flab jiggle its way across the track and thought, "nah, that just ain't right".

I just walked in the door from my 3rd go at it. I"m going to stick with W1 for another week. I just am starting to feel the groove with it, and am really still out of breath by the last run. If you're supposed to be "talking through it" then clearly, I'm not ready. Groaning maybe. Talking, NOWAY!

You are too funny with your carrot-on-a-stick hat!

You are right about the mind games while running. Just keep at it. Slow down the pace if you have to, but don't give up.

I don't know if I've ever been able to really talk through the run segments. I always let myself move on to the next day/week as long as I completed the day as written. It didn't matter how difficult it was for me. Just being able to complete it meant I could move on.

Now, I'm not saying you should move on if you don't feel ready. But, consider something else. Some people find week two to be a bit "easier" because you have fewer intervals and a bit longer walk time between. Just something to think about.

And make sure you're not going too fast. Try taking smaller steps when jogging/running.

Glenn, you don't understand. If I slowed down anymore, it would no longer be considered "jogging". :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I won't give up, but did I enter some time continuum?? I think I'm supposed to have a day of rest in between, but every morning I wake up and find myself moaning about this being another run day. :rotfl2:

I totally get that. For me it's not really the amount of time, I"m running, it IS more like there are just so freakin' many!!! :scared1: I just get to where I can sorta breathe again, and this guy in my ear is saying... time for another run, you can do it, blah, blah, blah... Maybe another day of W1 and then onto W2. It's supposed to freeze again day after tomorrow so, we'll see. It may be back to Country Line Dancing workout video. She assures me that

Southun's Sexy.

;)

:lmao:

I totally remember feeling that way (and still do sometimes although intervals are in my past - at least until I finish the program). Your recovery time will get better as your lungs adjust. Your lungs and heart adapt much more quickly than other parts of your body. :thumbsup2

And believe me - there were many moments when I moaned and groaned hearing it was time to run again. :sad2:

I think the goal is for the hips and thighs to "adjust". Hearts and lungs are very overrated.

I don't know. I think breathing is pretty darn important. :rolleyes1

Are you making sure to stretch really good afterwards? I was only sore after my first day of running and it was along my hips and sides of thighs. I found a great stretch for the hip flexors and once I added that one in to my routine, I haven't had any issues.

Can you order books from Amazon? I highly recommend reading Running for Mortals (or Marathoning for Mortals if you're planning on doing the half).

Well, AirTran just went down to "Suck" status in my book.

I opened up my e-mail today, and get a notice that my suh-weet airfare, and suh-weeter arrival time of 10:20 was pushed to some insane take off time of 11:something, arriving at 5:something.

Sorry, NO.CAN.DO!! :mad:

Why would I lose a whole day of Disney Touring (solo, I might add! because an airline can't make up its mind? Might I remind you, dear reader, that this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks they have done the el switcheroo?

So, I did what any sane consumer would do. I pulled a retro-switcheroo back at them. Yep, done me up good, and swapped out from AirSuckyTran to JetBlue. May they prove to have a better head in their corporate decision-making office.

So, here's the low-down. My old fare was $80.40. It was great. Obviously, too good to be true- you know how the saying goes....

For a total of $107.something, I now get a FREE checked bag. If you know me by now, FREE trumps just about everything else. Yes, it is more, but it's not an upcharge like it may seem at first glance.

~~~~I now get a FREE BAG!!! AirSuckyTran was going to charge me $10 or $15 bucks. I was prepared for that, but now, it's part of the price. (That would have made my old total, like $95)
~~~~I now get a FREE seat choice (Seat 3D= one of the first to get off, so I can bolt for ME faster!) AirSuckyTran was going to charge me $20 or some other ridiculous price to just pre-choose a seat. (I wasn't going to do that, so can't add into the old price)

~~~~An added bonus is that my new flight leaves at 9:20AM. I have to be honest, I felt a little bad about having my sister get up at 5:00 AM to get me to Dulles for a 6:00 AM flight. None of that nonsense. We'll leave at a sane hour of 8:00AM- leaving me plenty of time for a nice FREE cup of coffee at Sis's house first, and NOT being subjected to brown water for an outrageous $4.95 at some airport chain. ($5 more dolluhs to the old total---- $100)
Best part iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssss:
~~~~I now have a non-stop flight. No more tempting lost baggage fates. No more dilly-dallying around Midway. No more trying to dig around my carry-on trying to locate a miss placed boarding pass.

Nope, not for this peeved, defective customer! JetBlue is treating me right with a non-stop hop, skip and jump to MCO! :woohoo:

So, for only around $7 more, I got a great arrival time, my goal was anytime before noon, non-stop, and free bags!

Now, for those who are tempted to burst my happy customer bubble- don't. Let me bask in my new flight euphoria for at least one day; then you can tell me that JetBlue does that same atrocities to their passenger cargo.

I was kidding about the breathing. I know that will HAVE to fall into place. but I think FAT is more stubborn that lungs.

I stretched the first 2 times, but forgot to today. I was really sore the first time, but not #2- we'll see about today's tomorrow.

Yes, but we are in getting rid of stuff mode, so I won't order anything else now. But will read it when I get back to the US.

I think JetBlue will treat you right! And Woot for a non-stop flight :thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: for the new flight!!! That sounds like a much better option for you! :thumbsup2

And on the running: I was freaked out about that being able to talk while you run in the beginning as well and felt like a total failure because I never could do it. Then my father got inspired by me starting to run and he had to start as well. Of course him being a man (and having more disposable income than I had during my professional training) he immediately went out and bought a heart rate monitor and being the wonderful father he is, got one for me for my birthday as well. I have been running with it ever since and while I know that my heart rate is in the range it is supposed to be in, I still can't talk while I run. I think this talking issue is much overhyped. :goodvibes But the heart rate monitor is a great tool!! :thumbsup2

Your AirTran fiasco makes me worry about my own flight! So far they haven't changed anything on me (except flight times once but not by a lot)

I hope JetBlue treats you better! :thumbsup2

Breathing is totally overrated! :rotfl:

It is ALLL about the thighs adjusting. :laughing:

It is ALLLLLLL about the thighs, arm flab, gut flab (are women supposed to have a 6 pack?), and everything else that has crept up on this 42 year old body. :rotfl2:

I think JetBlue will treat you right! And Woot for a non-stop flight :thumbsup2

YUP!! NON-STOP!!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo:

I just read last night (yes, I do read stuff other than DISThreads ;)) that in order to burn fat, your heart rate is actually supposed to be running lower than what it would be for burning carbs?? That was good news. I wish I could find where I saw that, but what I took away was that I'm supposed to be at 55%- 65%. Whatever, I just do what I"m supposed to do when the guy tells me --- BAAA!!--- and call it good. Someday, if I get serious, I'll get a monitor, a Garmin, real shoes and a firm butt. (posted as I dive into my 3rd piece of BBQ Veggie pizza..... )
