An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Your AirTran fiasco makes me worry about my own flight! So far they haven't changed anything on me (except flight times once but not by a lot)

I hope JetBlue treats you better! :thumbsup2

I'd worry! The first change was actually really cool! It was better, by leaving 10 minutes later, and arriving 20 minutes earlier. Sounded great..... :sad2:

JET BLUE!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

NON-STOP!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay:

I think you will be happy on JetBlue!!! We have been flying them the last 3 times and we love them. Don't forget to pack a pair of headphones so you can have sound from your personal T.V.!

You are going to be there nice and EARLY!!!!! :woohoo::yay:

You look different in this picture.:confused3:confused3

That's because it's me.

JET BLUE!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

What kind of jack?? I've got just about every kind of jack there is. Two pronged, single (like for an iPod), you name it.

I'll be to DHS by3:00 for sure- as per the BFP. (thanks for that mighty handy acronym, Cynthia!)

That's because it's me.
WOW that must of been a heck of a 1st run! :rotfl2:

iPod headphones work great! Plus they take up no room. That is the size.

What's the BFP again?

The hat and pic is just too funny. Never hurts to have the right motivation though! :lmao:

Congrats on the new Jet Blue flight. I started flying Jet Blue over Air Tran when they started adding on those fees and doing away with nearly all of their non-stop flights. Plus they kept switching the times of the flights. Ugh! It just wasn't worth the aggravation.

They completely lost me for any potential flight recently. My parents flew back on Air Tran a few weeks ago in the middle of a storm with gale force winds. Every other airline flying into our airport had cancelled their flights, but not Air Tran. I had to trek out into the storm to pick them up, and at the last minute they diverted them to another airport. Then they told them they weren't going to run a shuttle back to the original airport until 5 hours later. :scared1: My parents ended up hiring out car service out of their own pocket, and I had to turn around and return home which was a bit of a harrowing experience. Trees were coming down all over the place, and I was convinced one was going to come down right on my car. They said they'd never fly with them again.

Did you end up having to pay a fee to cancel your flight, or did they wave it because of the flight change?

Hello fellow CT ummmmm CT-ian!:wave2:

I take it you are from Fairfield County... I'm just north of Waterbury. Thank goodness I was in WDW when that storm hit up here! We didn't lose power here though. Just a lot of rain and wind from what I understand.:goodvibes

It was my 3rd run. HA!! The first 2 didn't quite do the trick. :lmao::lmao:

I had planned on having my iPod anyway, so I'm all set!

I was so totally having fun with things! If I wasn't laughing in the midst of my efforts, I'd be coming up with far too many MORE excuses for why I shouldn't be doing this. :rotfl2:

It just wasn't!! I was more than done with their shenanigans!

Nope, they said they'd credit my debit card the full amount. I am happy with the way it worked out. I lose an hour, but it's worth it.

Tim, did you know I mentioned our Meet to Crissy, here? Might be fun to add you BOTH to the mix! :thumbsup2

~~~~An added bonus is that my new flight leaves at 9:20AM. I have to be honest, I felt a little bad about having my sister get up at 5:00 AM to get me to Dulles for a 6:00 AM flight. None of that nonsense. We'll leave at a sane hour of 8:00AM- leaving me plenty of time for a nice FREE cup of coffee at Sis's house first, and NOT being subjected to brown water for an outrageous $4.95 at some airport chain. ($5 more dolluhs to the old total---- $100)
I thought people are supposed to check-in 2 hours before a flight? :confused3
Is this true?? I always thought it was 2 hours for an international flight, not for domestic. Maybe I'm out of the loop here- someone let me know!!
:confused3
I guess it depends on the airport. I found a chart on the Southwest website that said arrival at airport for Washington/Dulles should be 1.5 hours prior to departure.
And that right there, is why I keep coming back for more!
Who knew?!!
So,
I agree!:)
If you got there at 7:30 that should give you plenty of time to check in , get through security, and relax for a few minutes before boarding. You don't want to be sitting around for hours... do ya? :thumbsup2
Speaking of "time", that start date is really sneaking up on us! April, what was it? 5th or something. Ack!! :scared1: How are you doing on your to do list before starting?
If muscle relaxants and heat aren't working, you may be right. I'm convinced mine is a rotten set of vertrbrae too. :headache: I'm anxious to get another MRI to see just what is going on. Nothing like pumping a few more rads into the ol' bod.
I like the way you've gone beyone FDM and used the same techniques in real life. :lmao:
If it's rotten vertebrae and massage will only go so far. For the actual problem. Sure feels good though, even if it won't help the root of the evil.
I had to take 1 week and a half off from any exercise from my neck. I know how it is to want to get out, and not be able to. :hug:
Oh yes, FDM is a LIFE SKILL.
:rotfl:
I have a bulging disk that flares up every now and then from an old ski injury. It's why I stopped pilates in the first place. I don't "think" that's whats going on here but who really knows. The pillow helped. Not 100% by any stretch but it's better. I still can't look down but I'm sore today versus so stiff I think my head might snap off.
It IS coming up soon. I turned in all my paperwork yesterday, forgot what a pain it is to fill all that out but I feel official and everything. Plus they can now run the background check. :rotfl: It was so cool though, I just get SUCH a great vibe from everyone there, the office manager/HR person is just a doll and it was just nice to chat with her about nothing at all.
I'm doing well on the list, except of course I keep adding to it! Thankfully I still have all of next week. You made me go back and look. Which is a good thing. Here is where I'm at
AKA I need to get my rear end back to the gym (nope, bad neck), get my website up and live (nope, next weeks project), get another website up and live (a freelance job) (meeting with her in 15 minutes!), schedule a darn mammogram (though chances are I can’t get in) (scheduled for monday!), order new RX sunglasses (my new job present to myself but not going to get the other ones…yet)(tried to but turns out the ones I wanted weren't covered under my plan so WAYYY too much $$, may get new regular ones instead. Or not.), purge and reorganize my closet (so I can actually find “work” clothes again)(DONE). And of course sign the kids up for before school care and summer care (DONE)and then negotiate with my dad and sister what help I will need from them over the summer half done...about 1/2 done, my Dad's in Germany for another couple of weeks so won't hit him up quite yet!.
Getting a haircut today, mani/pedi next week, facial and massage next week. Also have to create a PTA fundraiser cookbook next week so am pretty positive that no interior painting will be done.
:rotfl:
Did have some set backs so am behind on the site and binder pages (neck issue and a disastrous report card from a certain 10 year old) that have taken up wayyyyyyy too much time. Hope to get 2 pages done today though!
So, here's the low-down. My old fare was $80.40. It was great. Obviously, too good to be true- you know how the saying goes....
For a total of $107.something, I now get a FREE checked bag. If you know me by now, FREE trumps just about everything else. Yes, it is more, but it's not an upcharge like it may seem at first glance.
I've never heard anything bad about Jet Blue. I can't believe you were seeing those kinds of changes FIVE months out. I can only imagine how many more you'd see between now and the trip!
:rotfl:
Sounds like a perfect fix!
I'll be to DHS by3:00 for sure- as per the BFP. (thanks for that mighty handy acronym, Cynthia!)
Why you're welcome, we use it almost daily around here.
Is this true?? I always thought it was 2 hours for an international flight, not for domestic. Maybe I'm out of the loop here- someone let me know!!
:confused3
Really depends on the airport and airline but they are saying 2 hours most places. I'm still a one hour kind of girl but that assumes I have boarding passes and am walking into the airport at the one hour mark.
Good for you... you turned the tables on 'em! How dare that airline try to take away your Disney time!! :snooty:
I'm actually right over the border into New Haven County, but it's really close. The weather was crazy that night. There was actually a horrible accident that night in Westport, or Wilton, one of those places where a tree did come down on a car killing the driver. I was very happy when I got on the highway and there were no trees around to come down on me. I had to drive about 45 mph because the wind was blowing me all over the place, but at least I wasn't worried about trees.
:scared1:And that's the worse shenanigans I've heard of in a long, long time!!! :scared1:
There was no reason that their flight should have ever taken off. The weather was horrible in the NY area when they took off, and the forecast was only calling for it to get worse.
I was sitting in the cell phone parking area thinking there was no way the flight was ever going to land. The wind was horrible and there was no visibility. My parents said the pilot actually tried, but then had to gun it to take off again. My mom wanted to kiss the ground when they finally landed.
I think that the airlines have been bumping it up lately. I know Jet Blue was telling me 2 hours before hand, and that's out of a really tiny airport.
