'America's Got Talent' 2009

I don't normally watch this show, but I had it on while cleaning and had to confess to someone that I got all choked up and teary when the farmer sang at the end. OK, I feel better now. Thanks, DIS.

The farmer at the end even made my husband cry!!!

I liked the 62-year old lady at the very beginning who did all the breakdancing. I was shocked and apparently the crowd was too. Good for her.
The chicken farmer and the magician who hid in the box (forgot name?) were my other favorites for tonight.

I'm watching the end right now. The farmer is pretty good, but the 14-year old blew them all out of the water.

Yeah, she was pretty awesome, but good singers are a dime a dozen. A person who connects ('cause the farmer didn't have a fabulous voice) is a little more rare. I bet she'll do well, though.

I thought the farmer was amazing, he gave me chills. But I also love country music. The 14 year old was also amazing, such a mature voice for such a young lady. I also really liked the magician, but good comedy and good magic shows tend to be my favorites.

The Chicken catcher guy was amazing!!! I was crying

I saw that one coming when they showed people in the audience laughing at him. Thought it was downright tacky that Nick made fun of him. But before he opened his mouth to sing, I thought "here comes Susan Boyle's American counterpart" (the singer who is mocked and scrutinized before they even sing)

I hated that 62 year old dancer - I couldn't believe they sent her on. She was disturbing and I can't imagine that her act will be able to change and grow from week to week. I also tend to hate the "little kids with huge voices." Whatever became of that obnoxious Bianca who won Season 1? I could tell the magician was going to be a player because they showed all those pix of him as a kid.

I thought the 14 year old was very good, but she seemed kind of robotic to me. I was happy for her though....as a singer, I know I would have loved to have had that moment in the sun when I was her age. The chicken farmer guy though....wow....talk about someone who can connect with an audience. It felt like he was telling the story of his life. We thought for sure that he was gonna stink but he was amazing! Piers said something snippy to him about how he had his hat on backward but I actually wonder if they made him turn it around so they wouldn't have to blur the logo through his whole performance, because we noticed that it was blurred when he was backstage. It will be interesting to see if he can do upbeat stuff as well.

And I agree on the 62 year old dancer. DH and I were both like what the heck????

Two weeks into the season now, we've seen some jaw-droppers but I doubt we've seen any of the top-4 yet for this year. Just my thoughts after looking back on who I liked best.

The nurse that just performed her audition 5-min ago (Terri). The way they were building up her audition piece, I thought we were about to see deja-vu of Susan Boyle. :confused3

I'm gonna eat my own words. That 17-yr old girl who sang and played the keyboard (I think her name was Bri or something like that?). She'll make top-3 at least. Very professional voice for such a young age. Wouldn't be surprised if she auditions for Idol as well.

For a moment, I thought the same thing. Saving the best for last, yada yada yada. Then, as I was listening to her speaking voice, I started to doubt she would be a good singer. It was when I noticed she was missing her bottom front teeth, that I knew she was NOT Susan Boyle. I am sure if you are missing your front teeth, you would not be able to sing to the best of your ability.

Grandma Lee, the 75-year old comedian. I love her! :lmao::lmao: I want to seriously adopt her as my own grandmother. She's now my top-favorite this season. Very lovable person and has funny material.
The Acro-Dunk group which did the flipping and B'Ball dunking was my second favorite for tonight's episode. I could see people paying money for a show like that in Vegas. Also the very last woman who was a cancer survivor and sang opera. She definitely has a fantastic voice and is a great comeback story. Kudos to her recovery and great performance tonight.
But Grandma Lee was the show-stopper for tonight.(imo)

I'm thinking one of the magicians will blow everyone out of the water when they go to Vegas. Last year Pearse mentioned to a magician that he would really like to see one do well. I have seen a few decent ones so far.....along with some dangerous acts as well.

Personally I get kinda tired of the dancing groups, unless they are young kids.

I loved acro-dunk. I could see them making it HUGE in Vegas.

I loved Elishia, the 8 year old. She has an incredible personality.

I really enjoy Nick Cannon as the host. He is much more fun than Jerry Springer.

That little guy Elisha was so cute:love::love::love:. I was really shocked Sharon turned her down.

Those basketball guy were great!!

Grandma Lee was good but I'm not sure she will make it far.

The last lady. I'm don't like Opera so she was just okay for me

I feel bad for even writing this but Elisha annoyed me. I can't believe some of these acts that they put through. I did love Grandma Lee:happytv:
