I just read that this new save rule can only be used up until the final 5 contestants. I agree with what others have said that he probably would not have won but I really liked him and believed last night was the time to use that save. I love how Paula gave the advice to Scott a few weeks ago about getting out of his comfort zone and get out from behind the piano. Well, guess what Paula, he did and was voted off.

Ugh, this show is frustrating! Who are they saving that save for....Anoop??

I just read that this new save rule can only be used up until the final 5 contestants. I agree with what others have said that he probably would not have won but I really liked him and believed last night was the time to use that save. I love how Paula gave the advice to Scott a few weeks ago about getting out of his comfort zone and get out from behind the piano. Well, guess what Paula, he did and was voted off.

Rickey Minor, AI music director, had an interesting spin on the advice the judges give the contestants. Paula recommended that Scott take the risk of performing without the piano. What people miss is the risk part of that advice. With any risk there is a chance that it won't work. The judges want the contestants to take that risk to see how they perform. There is no guarantee that it will work.

I don't necessarily think it was the guitar that was the reason Scott got sent packing. He was due to go the past week or two anyways. I think even if he had performed at the piano, his time was up.

I agree. That one note Scott hit both on Tuesday and last night was He's such a nice guy and was fun to watch and root for, but he just wasn't that good and was lucky he made it as far as he did. At least he made the tour!

I totally agree. Scott's vocals were way off on Tuesday and haven't been on par with the other contestants. I think that vocally, it was his proper time to go.

I doubt that they would use it for Anoop or Matt. I think they may have used it last night if it was Lil. They would use it for someone who they want to make the top 3 or 4.

I don't get what the point of it is though. Isn't the show supposed to be about the voters? It never actually has been (the Producers know who they want to win and how to make it happen) but now it's blatantly obvious! If someone ends up as the bottom vote-getter, than people obviously didn't vote so why would the judges want them to stick around anyway? I don't know a single person (both in person and online) who likes Lil so why would they even keep her around? She's horrible! That made me mad last night

I seriously don't think it is about any of that. I think it is just about adding some more drama to the show. It really is all about ratings.

I agree. I think the producers are smart and are following the market. They know who has the buzz and who the public is following. Remember last year when they were all over David A until David Cook did HELLO? After Billy Jean they had to dog out Michael and get him out of there to push David Cook over the top. Notice how they're now DOWNplaying Kris? This is more of the same.

They're keeping on Lil just like they kept Syesha, for the mix. There is NO WAY they get the kind of votes that keep them there, NO WAY.
